Background

Belut began as a glossy black rat living in the Qingya Plane’s Dark Forest. After reaching the Saint Realm, he was invited into the Ultimate Wisdom, where he initially knew nothing of planes, Overgods, or the wider world. Other members dismissed him as a mere Magic Beast, but he cautiously sought information and met Calerona, another rodent-type Magic Beast. 122 123

Calerona introduced Belut to the Wisdom Space’s point system. He could earn points through quests, correct answers, cultivation progress, or—because he was a Divine Beast—submission of Quintessence Blood. During the Abyssal Demon invasion following Lord Tiger’s failed Abyss Trial, Belut and Calerona formed a partnership: she served as their main attacker while Belut disrupted and provoked enemies. 123 124

After Calerona became a god, Belut reached godhood five years later and immediately set out to find her. Following her departure with Meini, he became the “Black Phantom” of the Qingya Plane, crushing Low-Gods who threatened the Ice and Snow Temple and forcing local factions to leave it alone. 124 125

Belut later pursued plane missions with near-obsessive intensity, using Ultimate Wisdom to acquire insights and sparring during missions to integrate them. His reputation as the Black Phantom spread, while others began calling him a “Madman” for accepting dangerous missions even as a Low-God. 126

After surviving to the thirteenth floor of the Graveyard of Gods and exposing Lange’s betrayals, Belut accepted Plas’s offer to become a Preparatory Supervisor. Plas and Salazar provided cultivation guidance, resources, and instruction on Mystery Fusion. 127 128

Belut became a High-God, cleared the Graveyard of Gods, and received a Soul Defense Divine Artifact and an Overgod’s Envoy token from Jie Ning. He then completed Nether Mountain’s trial, overcoming its magic-array labyrinth through his durability and determination. 128 129

Belut eventually married Calerona. Jie Ning gave the Graveyard of Gods to the couple as a wedding gift; they retained its eighteen-layer structure, reorganized its defenses, and used it to contain and reform dangerous individuals. 130 132

Appearance

Belut’s original body is a large, glossy black rat. After becoming a god, he can appear as a black-robed or black-clad young man. 122 124 126

  • Glossy black fur in rat form. 122
  • Identifies himself as a God-Devouring Rat Divine Beast. 124
  • Often manifests a massive rat phantom when activating his Innate Divine Ability. 128 133
  • Uses the Black Phantom identity during his activities in the Qingya Plane. 125 126

Personality

Belut is cautious, observant, and difficult to deceive. Upon entering the Wisdom Space, he refused to reveal the questions he had asked Ultimate Wisdom and negotiated Calerona’s information fee down from 150 points to 100. 123

He is intensely driven by the desire to grow stronger, particularly after Calerona leaves with Meini. He accepts dangerous plane missions, seeks cultivation guidance, and treats power as the means to protect Calerona, the Ice and Snow Temple, and the Qingya Plane. 125 126 128

Despite his ruthless combat methods, Belut is protective toward those under his care. He intervenes when fighting threatens the Ice and Snow Temple, warns descending gods not to cause trouble in the Qingya Plane, and agrees to watch over Qing Huo’s home. 128 132

Abilities & Skills

Innate Divine Ability: God Devouring

Belut’s Divine Beast ability allows him to extract and devour an opponent’s Divine Spark. It is his decisive answer against enemies whose Mystery comprehension exceeds his own. 127 129

  • Extracted five Divine Sparks from Middle-Gods in a single activation. 128
  • Killed fleeing enemies by recalling their Divine Sparks from a distance. 133
  • Defeated Kabuchi, an Abyssal king who had matched him in direct combat, through God Devouring. 129
  • Uses absorbed Divine Spark Essence to strengthen his body. 127 129

Exceptional Physical Constitution

Belut’s Divine Beast body is his greatest conventional advantage. It can withstand attacks that would seriously threaten ordinary gods. 127 129

  • A High-level Divine Artifact failed to pierce his waist and only produced sparks against his neck. 127
  • Ordinary High-level Divine Artifacts can no longer harm him. 129
  • Endured Nether Mountain’s attack arrays rather than evade them, as dodging risked triggering teleportation arrays. 129
  • Withstood a group assault from six experts without meaningful injury before defeating them with his staff. 133

Wind Mysteries and Mystery Fusion

Belut possesses wind-element talent and improves through Ultimate Wisdom-assisted cultivation, combat, and guidance from Plas and Salazar. 128

  • Consumed an Azure Grape Fruit, improving the flow of his wind-mystery comprehension for one hundred years. 128
  • Learned the importance of Mystery Fusion from Plas and Salazar. 128
  • Had fused two Mysteries and found the convergence point for a third by the time he fought Kabuchi. 129
  • Temporarily set aside further fusion to prioritize reaching High-God, believing God Devouring was his stronger immediate trump card. 128

Staff Combat

Belut fights with a long staff and combines it with his physical strength and speed. 127 128

  • Killed ordinary Middle-Gods with single staff strikes. 128
  • Instantly killed the Purple Blood Demon with a strike to the forehead. 132
  • Dispersed most attacks from a group of six opponents with a casual staff swing. 133

Ultimate Wisdom

Belut uses the Ultimate Wisdom system for information, quests, points, and assisted cultivation. 122 123

  • Joined as a Saint Realm member with Level 1 authority. 122
  • Reached Level 2 authority upon becoming a god. 124
  • Earned points through demon hunting, plane missions, and cultivation progress. 123 124 126
  • Used insights gained through Ultimate Wisdom and combat to refine his cultivation. 126

  • Azure Grape Fruit — Given by Salazar; improves wind-mystery comprehension for one hundred years. 128

Relationships

  • Calerona — Fellow rodent-type Magic Beast, first partner in demon hunting, later wife; Belut’s pursuit of strength is largely motivated by their separation and reunion. 123 124 128 130
  • Meini — Calerona’s master; orchestrates opportunities for Belut’s growth and sets the Nether Mountain trial as the condition for winning Calerona. 125 128
  • Plas — High-God mentor and fellow Graveyard of Gods supervisor; recruits Belut as a Preparatory Supervisor and evaluates him as outstanding among Seven-star Demons. 126 128 129
  • Salazar — Plas’s brother and Belut’s cultivation guide; provides resources and teaches him alongside Plas. 128
  • Jie Ning — Overgod who builds the Graveyard of Gods, recognizes Belut as an Envoy, grants him a Soul Defense Divine Artifact, and later gives the Graveyard to Belut and Calerona. 127 129 132
  • Qing Huo — Friendly acquaintance who asks Belut to look after his home while he leaves the Qingya Plane with his brothers. 132
  • Burgess brothers — Gods Belut rescues from hostile Middle-Gods near the Ice and Snow Temple. 128
