The Boys' Dormitory and the Girls' Dormitory
When Hermione said goodnight, the fire in the fireplace had completely died out, leaving only a little warmth deep in the ashes.
Loren gently pushed open the dormitory door and went in, only to be surprised to find that none of the night owls were asleep.
Neville lay half-reclined on his bed, flipping through his thick Diary. Harry, Ron, and Seamus, dressed in pajamas, sat around a bed, gesturing with a hay wand. Donuts were suspended in mid-air by Levitation Charm, and several Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans were spinning rapidly around the Licorice Wands.
A faint blue flame floated beside Harry's bed, emitting a soft light and warmth.
Hearing the door open, the group looked over together, Seamus exclaimed with delight, "Loren, you're back from your nighttime stroll!"
Thinking of someone, a hint of envy appeared in Harry's eyes. "Did you and Hermione go on a night out... That's nice."
"..." Loren smiled helplessly, "If you say so, then so be it."
"Whoa~" Several roommates cheered in unison.
If he couldn't explain it clearly, he wouldn't waste his time. Loren shook his head and walked to the wardrobe to take off his shoes and change his clothes. He then took a towel and went to the bathroom to take a shower.
"Hurry up and wash, Loren! Come out, we have something to tell you!" Seamus's excited voice came from behind.
Around the same time, in the Gryffindor girls' dormitory.
To avoid disturbing her roommates' sleep, Hermione tiptoed into the dormitory room, slipped inside on tiptoe, and then carefully closed the door behind her.
Puff!
Suddenly, the small light by the dormitory wall turned on, Lavender Brown and Parvati Patil, dressed in light blue pajamas, stood by the wall, looking at Hermione with intriguing eyes and amused smiles.
"Look, who's back?" Lavender Brown asked in a drawn-out tone.
Parvati Patil winked mischievously. "It's Hermione Granger, the Miss Know-It-All goes on nighttime dates!"
Upon hearing the sound, even Hermione's two roommates, who were originally lying on the four-poster bed, lifted the curtain and looked at her with curious eyes.
Hermione's cheeks began to burn. She didn't know why, even though she wasn't this shy when she hugged Loren, she felt embarrassed when her roommate teased her.
She argued in a very unconvincing tone, "No, no, I didn't go out at night. I was in the Common Room the whole time, and I even said hello to you when you went back to your room, Patil."
"Really?" Parvati raised an eyebrow. "Then what were you doing in the lounge?"
Hermione fell silent again, stammering for a while, until Parvati pretended to tickle her before she quickly said, "Wait for Loren..."
The roommates immediately understood, and chuckled in a funny, teasing tone. "Oh~"
Lavender's eyes gleamed with eagerness. She pushed past Patil and leaned in front of Hermione, asking with great curiosity, "Were you kissing in the dark? How did it feel? Was it really comfortable?"
Before Hermione could answer, Lavender covered her cheeks shyly and exclaimed in a sweet voice, "Oh... after everyone has left, you can have a secret rendezvous with your beloved in an empty Common Room, kissing passionately, his hand caressing your waist..."
Lost in his fantasy, Lavender chuckled twice and shook Hermione's hand repeatedly, seemingly lost in thought about some scene.
Lavender's voice seemed to have Magic Power, stubbornly drilling into Hermione's mind. She tried hard to stop herself from thinking about it, but the embarrassing scene still appeared uncontrollably. Hermione even imagined the clear details.
That person's lips were soft and a little hot...
"No, no, I didn't!" Hermione cried out, her face flushed.
Lavender, lost in her daydream, was woken up. She sighed in disappointment and complained, "Come on, Hermione, you're the first person in our dorm to date, and a guy like Loren Morgan at that. Tell us about it."
"Yes, yes!" Parvati chimed in, and the two affectionately linked arms with the girl who was returning home late.
Lost in her own thoughts, Hermione was led to the bedside in a daze. With a mix of shyness and joy, she answered her roommates' questions and longings about love.
Four dared to ask, and one dared to answer.
Men's shower room.
A towel couldn't dry his hair, so he finally used a Whizbangs to create airflow and slowly evaporate the moisture. Loren carefully washed his hair several times, making sure he smelled nice and had no lingering Rafflesia odor, before getting dressed and coming out.
Neville was still flipping through his diary, while the other three were still sitting on Harry's bed, having opened another pack of Licorice Wands.
Ron excitedly waved him over. "Loren, come help me with the Quidditch selection process!"
Loren walked over, reached out and took one of the donuts they were using to simulate Quidditch hoop. He took a bite, and the sweet aroma of chocolate and frosting filled the air. "You've convinced Wood?"
Harry nodded. "Yeah, Wood said he'll announce it next Monday. Students in their third year and above can apply, and the selection process will begin after Halloween."
Ron brandished a Licorice Wands: "I think I'm sure I can get in. Harry and the others have training tomorrow, so I'll just jump in first."
He held Licorice Wands in his right hand and took a donut from the box with his left, gesturing with both hands. "Tomorrow I'll perform a Starfish and Stick in front of the players, grabbing a broom handle with one hand and hooking one foot upside down on the broom, then blocking every goal—"
"I'll convince all the players with my skills to let me join the team!" The Licorice Wands flew into Ron's abyss-like maw.
"Wow, that's amazing, star player Weasley!" Loren nodded sincerely, then suddenly changed the subject, "I was talking about George and Fred."
Harry chuckled, his shoulders shaking with laughter. It took him a while to recover. Meeting Ron's reproachful gaze, he put on a serious expression. "Starfish and Stick is a goalkeeper's technique. Are you planning to be a substitute goalkeeper?"
"That's right!" Ron winked smugly at the group. "I've thought about it. The other positions on the team are very stable, and their skills are all excellent. They still have several years before they graduate. I joined the team later, and although my skills will catch up with theirs, our teamwork and understanding won't be enough. This means that, except for injuries, the substitute players will be on the bench for several years and will hardly have a chance to play."
Ron paused for a few seconds, then chuckled, "But Wood will graduate next year, and I'll take over his position. Maybe I can even take over as captain."
Seamus's eyes widened, and he exclaimed in surprise, "What a far-sighted idea! You're even more intelligent than Ravenclaw!"
"That's right, that's right. I only came to Gryffindor because of the Weasley family tradition. Actually, with my intelligence, Ravenclaw would have been just as suitable, hehehe..."
Harry munched on Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, watching the two banter with a smile, without calling them out on it.
Loren ate a donut and most of a bag of Licorice Wands, then stopped when he felt a bit full. He turned to Harry and asked, "Have you started learning your Patronus Charm yet?"
"Huh?" Harry was a little surprised, swallowing the peppery candy in his mouth as he replied, "It's started. I went to Professor Lupin's during the day."
"Weren't you saying you were planning to open a club?"
"That's right, the club is already making plans, but Professor Lupin said that my condition is not suitable for practicing with others, so I will be learning alone."
Loren, recalling Harry's weakness to Dementor, nodded thoughtfully. "Then how did Professor Lupin teach it?"
"Boggart, Boggart turns into Dementor in front of me." Harry's smile was somewhat forced as he recalled his embarrassing situation today. "But I didn't succeed even once. The Patronus Charm only emitted a faint light and was no match for the Dementor that Boggart turned into."
Boggart ... just like Loren thought, looking at the lightning bolt-shaped scar on Harry's forehead, the scene of the Soul Stone drawing souls flashed through his mind.
If the soul truly possesses unparalleled Magic Power, can this Magic Power be controlled by a wizard? Harry's protective charm utilizes soul Magic Power, but the price Lily paid seems too high to be considered true control.
Furthermore, is Lily's protective charm made from her own soul Magic Power or Harry's Magic Power?
If it's Lily's Magic Power, why does Harry need to spend time with the Dursley every year to replenish his Magic Power and maintain the protective charm?
The underlying principle of Magic Power is that when a wizard dies, his Magic Power also dies; the magic he cast during his lifetime will only gradually diminish and cannot be replenished.
Lily's protective spell can also replenish her Magic Power to maintain it, which is illogical.
Loren thought that the protective charm was more likely to have activated Harry's own soul Magic Power, and according to this line of thought, the way the protective charm was maintained would make sense.
Family love, as a form of love, is one of the qualities of the soul, just like wisdom and courage, and can draw upon the soul's Magic Power. The protective charm Lily cast back then was based on Harry's soul Magic Power and bound by the love of family.
Loren's contemplation yielded no results; as soon as one question was resolved, more questions arose.
Magic Power contained within a soul is so powerful, why are the Dementor that absorb souls so weak?
The emotions and memories they absorb don't seem to be able to be converted into Magic Power in time; even if they absorb a soul with Dementor's Kiss, they can't use that power.
On the contrary, the Horcrux that contain fragments of Voldemort's soul are all incredibly strange, indestructible, and capable of growing stronger by exploiting the desires and fears of others.
From this perspective, are there any similarities between Horcrux and Dementor?
Although it wasn't the first time someone had stared at his scar with such scrutinizing eyes, Harry still felt a little awkward. He ran his fingers through his hair and asked, somewhat puzzled, "Didn't you already master the Patronus Charm? Why are you still concerned about this?"
Loren gathered his scattered thoughts, took a deep breath, and chuckled, "Just curious. I learned my Patronus Charm on my own, so I wanted to learn about the professor's formal teaching methods. Also, I wanted to borrow Professor Lupin's Boggart to do some experiments."
"That's amazing! You can achieve this just by practicing all the time. You're much better than me..."
Harry was a little depressed. Why were Dementor even more annoying than Voldemort? At least with Voldemort, he felt he could at least punch him in the nose. But with Dementor, there was nothing he could do; he'd faint the moment he saw them and couldn't do anything.
Harry sighed. "Then you can come with me next week. I can ask you for some advice."
"Me too! Me too!" Ron, having finished his smugness, leaned over and said in a complaining tone, "You didn't invite me this time..."
"I called you! You were pestering Wood about Quidditch!"
"Is that so? Hehe... Sigh, it's hard to have Quidditch and Patronus..."
"I'm worried that you'll end up failing at both things."
"Huh? Seamus your family have the blood of the Banshee? How can you say such nasty things!"
"Ha ha ha ha..."
Monday morning, in the Great Hall.
It's the start of another busy week. For the third-grade wizard, there's nothing more painful than Monday. The whole day is full of classes, and there's no time to rest between classes. As soon as the bell rings, he has to grab his schoolbag and run to the next classroom.
An unknown little Witch had it even harder, doing three or four more lessons than others.
Hermione felt a headache coming on at the thought of today's lessons. She poked at her fried egg with her fork, her appetite was poor but she had no choice but to put it in her mouth, as it was the only hot food she would have for most of the day.
Just then, Loren suddenly leaned over and let out a burp. He asked earnestly, "Hermione, if you had to choose one distinct trait to describe me, would you say intelligence, courage, or kindness and justice?"
Hermione rolled her eyes dramatically. "I wonder if you've ever considered that it might be confidence?"
"Hmm, that makes sense." Loren nodded in deep agreement. He thought about it seriously for a while, and finally slowly shook his head. "It's very distinct, but this trait is not the same as what I've mentioned."
Hermione started to feel a headache coming on. She had thought he would be sad and upset for a while after what happened to Wormtail Peter, but now it seemed that she was the one who would be sad.
"If you're full, pack some for me to eat when I travel back in time..." Hermione sighed deeply, picked up a fried egg with her fork and put it in her mouth. His antics seemed to have improved her appetite.
Loren took a stack of brown paper from the paper basket on the table, wrapped some food inside for easy storage, and said comfortingly as he did so, "It's Monday, after all, my appetite isn't great either..."
Hermione ignored the man. From the moment he sat down, he ate four fried eggs, five sausages, and a large plate of bacon and grilled mushrooms for breakfast.
When you have a good appetite, you can probably eat more than a troll.
Loren placed the wrapped food next to Hermione's plate. "You can travel for another ten minutes or so to the Kitchen to find the House-elf— "
His voice suddenly paused, and Hermione turned her head curiously, still with a piece of bread in her mouth. "What are you looking for in the Kitchen?"
Just then, the skylight suddenly opened, and a dense, flapping sound of wings filled the air.
The Hogwarts postmen arrived, and hundreds of owls flew in through the window and nimbly landed in front of the young wizard.
"Harry! Come quick! Wormtail Peter has been arrested!" Colin stumbled over, holding a copy of the latest Daily Prophet.
