Are You Still Unhappy When the Exam Is Easy?
As May arrived, the days became clear and cloudless, and the sun gradually warmed up each day. The young wizards gradually took off their heavy sweaters and fleece-lined wizard robes and put on light summer clothes.
The handover of the Quidditch team was finally over. Wood handed over the captaincy to Angelina Johnson and gave his notes, filled with his experience as a goalkeeper, to Ron and Maclagan. Although he believed Ron was the right person, he showed no favoritism.
But Ron didn't have time to study the goalkeeper's notes; he had to prepare for his upcoming final exams.
As the exams approached, the adorable Hermione transformed back into the stern Professor Granger. She reduced her interactions with Professor Bubage and spent her days sternly supervising Loren, Harry, and Ron's revision.
Professor Granger required them to repeatedly memorize things related to the medieval Witch hunts, to remember the origins and usage of dozens of spells in the Charms Class, including the Cheering Charm, as well as almost the entire key points of the Transfiguration textbook, and the recipes for a whole year of Potions Master...
The scariest part is that Hermione predicts the final exam for Divination Class will cover the chapter on the crystal ball, requiring Loren and the others to memorize an entire book of omens and revelations from images.
"Merlin's beard!"
Ron stared at the passages underlined in red in his textbook, his eyes twitching. He exclaimed, "Hermione, even if you stuffed this whole book into my head, I still couldn't memorize it!"
Hermione across from him was engrossed in her textbook, not even looking up when she heard the noise. She was so composed that she gave off a sense of pressure from a distance, much like Professor McGonagall.
"Shh!" Harry, sitting next to her, pointed to the librarian not far away. "Madam Pince will kick us out if she hears us."
"Oh, I'd rather be kicked out..." Ron tilted his head back and looked at the ceiling, saying weakly, "Spare me, Hermione, even Loren couldn't remember this much knowledge."
"Hmm? I think I heard someone calling me..."
Loren peeked out from behind a book, blinking his eyes. "Are you talking about me? I've already memorized the book from Professor Granger. Although it wasn't word for word, Professor Granger gave me an O (excellent)."
Wow, is this what a terrifying good student is like?
Harry and Ron lowered their heads in frustration, not daring to utter a sound.
Good student Loren put down his copy of "Language Jokes: American English," looked out the window, and gazed at the bright sunlight streaming across the grass. It looked warm and inviting, but not too hot, making one want to grab a few pints of Pumpkin Juice, stroll over to the field, plop down, and enjoy the good weather.
Turning around, the girl wore a white women's blouse under her wizard's robe. The soft, ruffled collar of the blouse surrounded her smooth neck and must have looked beautiful in the sunlight, Winky like a pearl.
In a few days when the temperature rises, Hermione won't be wearing ruffled collar shirts anymore.
"Hmm..."
Loren hesitated for a moment, then closed his own book and reached out to close Hermione's.
"?"
Hermione blinked.
"Let's go to Hagrid's."
Harry and Ron, who were engrossed in their books, immediately perked up their ears.
Loren said seriously, "The Monsters Book of Monsters is not good for reviewing, and the Care of Magical Creatures is too broad. It's not even the same book. We can't just blindly review it."
Hermione frowned. Her intuition told her this person wasn't interested in studying, but then she recalled the Hippogriff, Flobberworm, Fairy, and so on she had learned about this school year...
What he said seemed to make some sense.
"So?"
"Let's go give Professor Hagrid some feedback, and while we're at it, ask him how the exam is conducted, what the content is... even just a syllabus would be helpful."
Hermione hesitated for a moment.
"Ms. Granger, you don't want to go through all that trouble to review all the material on Care of Magical Creatures only to have it not be on the exam, do you?"
"..."
A few minutes later, Hermione packed the rest of the unrelated textbooks and notes into her bag, held the notebook for the Care of Magical Creatures in her hand, and got up to leave.
Harry and Ron exchanged a smile, their eyes sparkling with surprise, and they simultaneously mouthed "Praise Loren."
Hermione suddenly turned around and stared at them, saying seriously, "You two stay in the Library and continue studying. Loren and I are going to find Hagrid."
"Why should I?" Harry retorted, dissatisfied.
"You've been waiting all day and still haven't memorized the origin of the Cheering Charm!"
Harry and Ron sat back down in their seats, feeling resentful.
Are good students amazing?
Watching the departing figures of the adulterous couple, Harry clenched his fists and said resentfully, "Damn it, I'll study hard next semester, then I can do whatever I want!"
Ron nodded repeatedly. "That's right, that's right, let's see how they deal with me!"
"Exam Scope?"
In the pumpkin patch, Hagrid, who was bending over pruning pumpkin seedlings, slowly stood up, patted his muddy hands on his leather blouse, and muttered to himself while giving the two a strange look:
"How could a little wizard memorize all the knowledge without knowing the exam content? It's even more unbelievable than Gorgon running around the Quidditch Pitch..."
Hermione's fair cheeks began to burn, and she retorted defiantly, "Isn't that the point of exams? To test students' learning outcomes. As long as I master all the knowledge, I can pass the exam with excellent grades!"
Loren stood leisurely to the side, watching with a smile.
Suddenly, he showed a thoughtful expression—
Should I buy a magic camera next year and prepare some Developing Potion?
It can be used in the Triwizard Tournament, and it can also be used in Hermione's filming, so isn't this a win-win situation!
"Merlin bless the future young wizards, and may you not return to Hogwarts as a professor after you graduate..."
Hagrid muttered to himself, stepping out of the fence from the pumpkin patch and sitting on a nearby rock. He shook the clumps of dirt off his sleeves; the dry dirt wasn't sticky and crumbled to the ground with a light touch.
"This is my first year as a professor, and I have little experience, so I've done a lot of stupid things. Therefore, I don't intend to make things difficult for you. The exam I've prepared is very simple; even a troll could pass it."
Hmm... the troll might not be able to handle it, but the Fang will definitely be able to."
Hermione's fingers, gripping the notebook, trembled slightly. She wasn't sure what kind of exam Fang would pass, but Fang certainly wouldn't need to memorize the biological structure, physical characteristics, habitats, and survival habits of nearly ten Fantastic Beasts...
After spending several years together, Hagrid had figured out Hermione's personality and added, "I've already discussed it with Professor McGonagall, and she agrees with my approach."
Hermione's face showed a frustrated and aggrieved expression, as if she had a lot to say but couldn't.
"We understand, Hagrid. We'll pass it on to the other students."
Loren suppressed a laugh and quickly pulled Hermione away.
Watching the two walk away, Hagrid scratched his head. "That strange little Witch," he thought, "The test was easy and she's still unhappy..."
