Loren and his friends confronted Voldemort’s attempt to steal the Sorcerer’s Stone, then celebrated Gryffindor’s victory and left Hogwarts for summer. Loren transformed Nagini and began staying with Hermione’s family while seeking a lasting treatment for Bates.

• Hagrid led Loren, Harry, Ron, and Hermione into the Forbidden Forest, where they encountered a hooded stranger drinking a Unicorn’s blood before Firenze drove him away.
• Loren opened The Book of Abraham and met Mary in a sealed palace, but his question about using the Sorcerer’s Stone to restore Bates and Nagini went unanswered, leaving a red mark between his brows.
• Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Loren tried to stop Quirrell from reaching the Sorcerer’s Stone, and Loren joined Harry in fighting Voldemort while Hermione freed herself and struck him with the Sword of Gryffindor.
• After Dumbledore explained the aftermath, Loren used the Sorcerer’s Stone to remove his and Hermione’s Traces, while Hermione set up a Library shelf of books for students to borrow.

• Loren and Hermione went camping with the Grangers in Dean Forest, where a mirror trapped them in an illusion of Countess Lyxter before Loren broke free and kept the cracked mirror.
• Loren learned from Flamel that the mirror created layers of illusions and needed a Unicorn Horn for repairs, while he and Hermione continued practicing the Patronus Charm and Memory Magic.
• Bates reunited with Loren and moved into the house next door to the Grangers, and Dumbledore later used a ritual and the Human Transformation Spell to prevent Bates from transforming for several years.

Loren returned to Hogwarts, investigated the threats surrounding the school, and joined Dumbledore in confronting the Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets. Dumbledore entrusted Loren with the Deluminator and the task of collecting the Basilisk’s deadly gaze each month as the school’s clubs and curriculum reforms began.

• Loren and Hermione destroyed a Dementor pursuing them at sea, and Loren later discovered that the pebble left behind could shrink the Soul Stone.
• Loren returned to Hogwarts with Hermione, learned that Dobby had warned Harry about danger, and watched Harry and Ron arrive late after flying the enchanted car to school.
