Loren uncovered the truth about his parents’ deaths, helped Neville reunite with his parents, and grew closer to Hermione while Voldemort’s return threatened the wizarding world. The story left Loren tracking Peter Pettigrew after finding signs he had searched the Room of Requirement for Ravenclaw’s Diadem.

After Christmas brought new gifts, plans, and dueling practice, the students returned to Hogwarts to find a masked new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.

  • Loren recovered memories of his parents’ deaths and learned that his Magic Sight remained, while Lucius Malfoy agreed to host a full-moon banquet as cover for a planned Azkaban escape.
  • After Justin was petrified, Dumbledore showed Harry a memory of Tom Riddle, and Hagrid’s arrest sent Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Loren into the Forbidden Forest to seek answers from Aragog.

After Loren learned that Sirius’s escape from Peter Pettigrew’s attack had cost his parents their lives, he refused to forgive him, while the Animagus class began its supervised training.

  • Dumbledore announced that the Chamber of Secrets monster had been dealt with, declared Hagrid innocent, and introduced Sirius Black as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher.
