Loren and Hermione returned to Hogwarts as Voldemort rebuilt his forces, while the Ministry prosecuted captured Death Eaters and the students completed their O.W.L.s. The arc ended with Loren and Hermione spending the summer together before finding Diagon Alley deserted and Ron announcing he was Gryffindor’s Quidditch captain.

• Loren absorbed the Time Room’s mist and the Planet Room’s darkness into the Snake Scale, while Voldemort escaped to the graveyard and began hunting the Elder Wand.
• Dumbledore recruited Slughorn and Grindelwald, and Loren and Hermione returned to Hogwarts as Slughorn and Beowulf Bashart joined the staff.
• Draco and Loren visited Narcissa and Lucius in prison, where Loren took Lucius’s little finger as payment for an old debt.
• Loren and Hermione completed their Career Guidance interviews and O.W.L. examinations, while Lupin went undercover to investigate werewolves recruiting new members.
• Scrimgeour warned the Muggle Prime Minister that Voldemort had rebuilt his forces, and Lupin’s assault on Greyback ended with Greyback’s capture but a plane crash that killed 228 people.
• Loren and Hermione received their Grade Reports and spent the summer together, then found Diagon Alley deserted before visiting George and Fred’s joke shop, where Ron announced he was Gryffindor’s Quidditch captain.

Loren helped Snape return to life, aided Slughorn with Felix Felicis, and joined Harry and Dumbledore in uncovering Voldemort’s past and destroying a Horcrux. As Voldemort’s forces and the Ministry prepared for a confrontation, Dumbledore refused to join Scrimgeour’s operation, saying the Ministry did not understand Voldemort.

• Harry thanked Loren for the joke books that had helped him through his stay with the Dursleys, and Loren later proposed patent fees for the defensive products George and Fred were developing.
• Loren built a secure Floo passage between The Burrow and the Black family manor, then completed Snape’s Resurrection Ritual at Malfoy Manor.
• Snape told Loren that Voldemort was pursuing a living Horcrux connected to Ilvermorny and asked him to give Harry Snape’s old Potions textbook.

Voldemort attacked the Ministry and forced Scrimgeour into a prisoner exchange, while Hermione and Ron helped destroy two Horcruxes and Loren tested his growing magic. The story left Loren and Dumbledore discussing Voldemort’s remaining Horcruxes as Snape gathered Lily’s memories and grave dust, and the wizarding world celebrated Christmas.

• Dumbledore warned Hermione and Loren that the Ministry operation was a trap, then gave Hermione Ravenclaw’s Diadem to destroy with the Sword of Gryffindor.
• Voldemort attacked the Ministry, captured Amelia Bones, and triggered a disastrous confrontation at the holiday park that ended with a missile strike and the Ministry sealed off.
• Snape offered Scrimgeour a prisoner exchange, and Dumbledore secured time until around Easter while the Floo Network was set to reopen.
• Ron destroyed Hufflepuff’s Goblet with the Sword of Gryffindor, and the Horcrux’s taunts exposed his insecurity about Aunt Muriel before Grindelwald’s flames contained it.
• Loren faced Grindelwald in a Defense Against the Dark Arts duel, using spatial magic and fire until a flame caught the hem of Grindelwald’s robes and they stopped.
• Loren and Hermione attended Slughorn’s Christmas party, where they danced and kissed, while Harry asked Slughorn about Horcruxes and was sent to Dumbledore.
• Loren told Dumbledore that Voldemort had made six Horcruxes and that the last was a living creature, and Dumbledore suspected it had been created at Ilvermorny.

Loren and Hermione investigate Apparition and a strange Soul Stone while Harry pursues Slughorn’s memory and then follows Snape into a resurrection ritual. Voldemort interrupts the ritual and fights Loren, while Lily’s spirit is later summoned again for Snape and Harry.

• Loren and Hermione joined the Apparition class, where Seamus succeeded using Loren’s eyes-closed method and Tykros later credited Loren’s ideas with helping address Splinching.
• Loren tested a Soul Stone with a Boggart and found it fused with a crude whale image, then noticed that the stone revealed colored impressions around people.
• Draco met Lucius, who warned him to agree outwardly with threats while remaining protected at Hogwarts, as Death Eaters reclaimed Ministry offices.
• Harry obtained Slughorn’s memory at Aragog’s funeral and learned that Voldemort had planned to split his soul into seven pieces.
