Conquering Irene (Part 2)
Hearing that Sordil had a question for her, Irene stopped and waited quietly for his question.
"Teacher Irene, I'd like to ask, what time is it now?"
Eileen had expected Sordil to ask her about Augmented Magic, but instead, he asked such a trivial question. Irene glanced at the sun and replied speechlessly, "It's six o'clock in the afternoon. What? Are you in a hurry?"
"Of course I'm in a hurry, because this is the beginning of our happiness, and I can't be late!"
A masculine voice rang in Irene's ear, the man's warm breath tickling her. Startled, Irene turned her head, only to find herself face-to-face with him. Looking into his silvery eyes and sharply defined features, Irene felt her face burn and her heart pound. Panicked, she tried to flee, only to find a yellowish-brown Rock Wall had appeared behind her, blocking all her escape routes.
"General Oddek, what do you want to do?"
"What are you doing, Teacher Irene? I just asked you for the time, so now, of course I'm asking you for directions!"
"What road?"
Sordil placed his left hand on the wall, blocking Irene's escape route, and gently pinched her chin with his right hand, slowly lifting her cheek. When their eyes met again, Sordil asked softly, "Of course, it's the path to the one in Teacher Irene's heart!"
Irene, who had always been preoccupied with state affairs and had no interest in romantic relationships, had never experienced such a scene before and was instantly overwhelmed by Sordil's combination of punches. Just as she was wondering how to respond, a roar came from the sky.
"Where did this brat come from, daring to flirt with my Irene!"
Before the roar had even landed, a fist the size of the Simuwu Ding) slammed down on Sordil's back.
"Boom"
Dust billowed and wind howled. The small earthen wall that Sordil had used to pin Irene against the wall crumbled under the force of this punch.
"Belserion, what are you doing?"
Irene, who had been rescued by Acnologia, shouted loudly to Belserion below. Belserion, protective of his daughter, was slightly bewildered upon hearing Irene's cry. He looked up in surprise and said, "Of course I saved you!"
Upon hearing Belserion's explanation, Irene exclaimed, "That guy is the man I'm going to marry in three months! If you punch me like that, who am I going to marry in three months?"
"Thump"
Belserion, the Daughter-Protecting Maniac father, slammed his mouth to the ground upon hearing his daughter's words. His accomplice, Acnologia, placed Irene on the ground and immediately fled.
"Belserion, what are you standing there for? Hurry up and move your fist away, check if that guy Oddek is alright!"
"Are you alright? If I had punched him, that kid would probably be a meat pie by now!"
Belserion cursed inwardly, but this time the fault lay with him, and it also involved Irene's future happiness, so he still raised his fist with a glimmer of hope. His fist was unstained with blood or flesh, and there were no human remains in the cave, not even a scrap of clothing.
"How is the situation?"
Meeting Irene's concerned gaze, Belserion gave an awkward smile, then said mysteriously, "I have good news and bad news to tell you. Which do you want to hear first?"
Irene gave Belserion a disapproving look, then said, "Of course, let's start with the good news!"
"The good news is that your future husband is alright!"
"And the bad news?"
"The bad news is, your future husband... has disappeared!"
"Gone? What do you mean, gone?"
Unable to accept the bad news from Belserion, Irene hurried to the edge of the cave, carefully examining the remaining traces inside, hoping to find Sordil's whereabouts.
Iron Dragon Clan Sanctuary
"Ugh! That guy Metalicana doesn't give me a chance to speak at all. How am I supposed to get any information about the Thunder Dragon from him?"
Having spent four or five days in the Gajeel's Secret Realm without making any progress, Igneel lay alone on the cold, hard iron bed, gazing at the sky in despair. At this moment, he regretted even more taking on this hopeless and arduous task.
"Forget it! Since there's no progress here in Metalicana, I'll ask someone else for help! Who should I ask? Right! That guy Vyseria should know a clue, hmm, I'll go find him tomorrow!"
After coming up with a solution, Igneel suddenly felt that the iron bed beneath him seemed a little softer, and the stars in the sky seemed a lot more beautiful.
The next morning
Metalicana was awakened from his sleep by a shout.
"Brother Metalicana, wake up!"
"The Fire Dragon King is leaving!"
Disturbed from her sleep, Metalicana replied impatiently, "Let him leave if he wants to! Don't disturb my sleep!"
Seeing Metalicana still lying in bed, Masergrera had no choice but to truthfully relay the situation to Igneel. He could only hope that Metalicana wouldn't blame him for this when he woke up. Just as he was about to turn and leave, Metalicana, who was lying in bed, suddenly sat bolt upright.
"Masergrera, what did you just say?"
"It's like this, Brother Metalicana! This morning, the Fire Dragon King suddenly came to me, saying that he wanted to leave here to visit an old friend."
"Visiting an old friend? That Igneel guy, besides the four of us, what other old friends does he have? Wait! Could it be that he's looking for..."
Metalicana stopped abruptly. A moment later, he dashed towards Igneel's residence at the speed of a 110-meter hurdle jump. Seeing Metalicana rushing towards Igneel's dwelling, Masergrera hurriedly called out, "Wrong! Wrong! Brother Metalicana, you've gone to the wrong place! The Fire Dragon King is in the reception room!"
Why didn't you say so sooner!
Metalicana, halfway there, heard Masergrera's shout and immediately changed direction, flying towards the reception room.
"What's Metalicana up to? Why hasn't he shown up yet?"
Igneel had just finished criticizing Metalicana's rude behavior when he heard the other person shouting from outside the door.
"Brother Igneel!"
"Brother Igneel, are you still there?"
"Thank you, I'm still breathing, and I'm standing right here!"
No sooner had Igneel finished speaking than Metalicana burst in, panting.
"Thank goodness I made it in time! Come on, brother Igneel, let's go together!"
Seeing the excited Metalicana, Igneel asked, bewildered, "Coming together? Where are you going? You're coming with me?"
Upon seeing Ignir feigning Igneel, Metalicana adopted a "we're all male dragons, I understand!" expression and said, "Aren't you going to see Grandiere? Let's go together!"
Upon hearing the mention of Grandiere, Igneel was reminded of his miserable dragon life and cried out in grief and indignation, "Who wants to go to Grandiere? I'm going to go to Vyseria!"
Upon learning that Igneel was going to visit Vyseria, Metalicana instantly lost his enthusiasm and said dejectedly, "Oh! You go by yourself then, I'll just go back to sleep!"
