Irene's Madness (Part Two)
Hearing Diphiya's scream, Sordil suddenly realized that the Ghost Dragon's power was like a biological virus to other dragons in his previous life—extremely lethal. Sordil quickly stopped exhaling and rushed to Diphiya and the others, helping them to their feet. After helping everyone up, Sordil said apologetically, "I'm so sorry, everyone! I forgot you couldn't withstand the Ghost Dragon's power. I'm truly sorry!"
After Sordil finished speaking, Diphiya asked curiously, "Sordil, what exactly is the power of the Ghost Dragon? Why do we feel so uncomfortable after you use the power of the Ghost Dragon?"
"Actually, the power of the Ghost Dragon has another name: Demonic Barrier Particles."
As soon as Sordil finished speaking, a dozen or so wounded soldiers cried out in surprise.
"Demonic Barrier Particles?"
"Yes, it's the Demonic Barrier Particles!"
"Brother Sordil, what exactly are these Demonic Barrier Particles, and why do they cause me more damage than others?"
After signaling Igneel to be quiet, Sordil began to explain to his friends the origin of the Demonic Barrier Particles and their function.
"Actually, there are two types of microparticles in this world: one is called Magic Particles, and the other is Demonic Barrier Particles. Magic Particles are the foundation of magic, and they are distributed throughout the body of each of us. Magical barrier particles, on the other hand, are the opposite of Magic Particles. These particles can neutralize magic, destroy magical energy in the air, and pollute the air. If you accidentally inhale Demonic Barrier Particles, it will damage your bodily functions, and in severe cases, it may even cause death."
"Since you ingested very few Demonic Barrier Particles, you only experienced symptoms such as nausea and chest tightness. Because Brother Igneel has the most abundant Magic Particles in his body, Igneel symptoms are the most severe."
After Sordil finished explaining, everyone had an "I see" look on their faces. At that moment, Kaldiz suddenly asked, "Even I didn't know these things, how did you find out?"
Upon hearing Kaldiz's words, Igneel and the others all looked over, hoping that Sordil could give them a reasonable explanation.
"This is very simple! Before I came to Ishgar, I studied at the first Magic Academy in the Western Continent — the Mirdian Magic Academy. I saw all of this in the library of the Mirdian Magic Academy."
After Sordil finished speaking, Kaldiz exclaimed, "I never expected that a Bandit like you would actually be a cultured person who studied at a prestigious university!"
"Plop"
Sordil, who had just taken a step, heard the exclamation behind him and immediately kissed the ground with his cheek. As a caring older sister and a model girlfriend, Grandiere immediately stepped forward to help Sordil up and brushed the dust off him.
"Sordil, where are we going now?"
"I'll help Uncle Kaldiz recover from his injuries first, then I'll go out to find a friend. You guys just stay here and wait for me to come back."
"Don't you need us to stay with you?"
"No need, I'll be back soon!"
After reaching an agreement, Sordil began treating Kaldiz. He enveloped the Sky Dragon's Healing Magic within the Ghost Dragon's Demonic Barrier Particles sphere and then sent this fused energy sphere into Kaldiz's body. Kaldiz's pale complexion slowly returned to normal, and the pain on his face gradually disappeared.
Feeling an unprecedented sense of comfort, Kaldiz praised, "You're quite something, kid! You even managed to heal my injuries!"
"Hehe! This was an idea I came up with on the spot based on the situation during the additional experiments, and I didn't expect it to actually work."
"Wait! You mean you didn't know if you'd succeed before you tried it on me?"
"Um... well, I have something to do, you should rest first, Uncle!"
The exposure of the clinical Little White incident made Sordil no longer dare to linger in front of Kaldiz. He immediately turned tail and ran away, leaving behind an angry Kaldiz and a group of bewildered onlookers.
Residence of the Trio of Cuiyi'aorshu
"Teacher has been in the palace for so long, why hasn't he come out yet?"
Recalling the roar that had appeared in the sky earlier, and the earth-shattering battle not long ago, Anna felt uneasy. She worried that Sordil was too weak and would be sent to the Bridge of Helplessness, and she also worried that the silly dog, after winning the battle, would get too excited and leave her here alone to go home.
"Oh, teacher, you must remember me!"
Before she had finished speaking, the long-awaited voice came from behind her.
"Girl, what are you doing?"
After controlling her facial expression, Anna turned her face away and said irritably, "What else can we do but wait for someone!"
"Waiting for someone? Waiting for whom?"
"Who else could I be waiting for besides you, sir?"
Seeing Anna's flushed face, Sordil smiled mischievously and said, "That's not necessarily true. Maybe you're waiting for your sweetheart?"
Looking at the old man's lewd behavior, Anna put on an awkward but polite auntie smile, and then shouted, "Boss, there's only you and me in this house, where would I find a sweetheart?"
Having been thoroughly humiliated by his own apprentice, Sordil's face instantly became a colorful display, turning a vibrant mix of blue, purple, red, white, and black – quite a spectacle! After a while, having processed his emotions, Sordil lost all interest in joking with Anna and decided to get straight to the point, so he began:
"Anna, pack your things later, then go out and hire a carriage. We'll return to the Western Border Army tomorrow morning."
"Oh! Ah? Back to the Western Border Army? Then... then..."
"Don't worry, I've taken care of everything here, nothing will happen!"
After saying this, Sordil left General Oddek behind, then transformed into Firefly Dragon and flew out of the room.
Royal Palace, Council Hall
"Your Majesty, the guards at the mission's residence have just reported that General Oddek has returned to his residence and that he has sent his student Anna out to hire a carriage."
Upon receiving this message, Irene knew that Sordil must have returned. However, she hadn't received any notification from Xizhalansa, which meant that Sordil had the ability to leave the capital unnoticed. This realization sent a chill down her spine, while simultaneously filling her with relief that she hadn't given up on Anna's trail.
Irene told the person who came to report, "Go back to the mission's residence immediately and keep a close eye on them. Report back immediately if anything happens!"
"Yes!"
After the guard left, Irene said to another person beside her, "Go immediately and inform Xizhalansa to carry out the original plan!"
"Yes!"
After confirming that there were no mistakes, Irene sat back on the throne, then stared at the eastern sky and muttered to herself, "Until you explain clearly why you left me, you won't be able to go anywhere!"
The following morning, just as Sordil and his party left Kaldiz's courtyard, they were blocked by Xizhalansa, who was holding the Golden Covenant.
"Xizhalansa, what do you mean by this?"
"Prince Sordil, Her Majesty Irene has something to discuss with you, but fearing you might not keep our appointment, she ordered me to bring this alliance agreement with you. Her Majesty Irene said that if you insist on not going, she will allow me to tear up this alliance agreement and announce to you that the alliance between our country and your country is officially dissolved."
"Oh, by the way! Her Majesty Irene also asked me to tell you that your lovely apprentice is currently a guest at the palace!"
