Three-Pronged Deployment (Part 2)
After bidding farewell to the guards, Sordil made his way to the council hall with practiced ease. When he arrived, the hall was already filled with representatives from various duchies and leaders from various secret realms. Upon seeing Sordil's arrival, everyone in the hall greeted Sordil.
"Greetings, Prince Sordil!"
"Greetings, Prince Sordil!"
"Good evening, Prince Sordil!"
Sordil nodded to those who greeted him as he walked towards the center of the hall. Two minutes later, he finally escaped the enthusiastic onlookers and arrived at the small circle of decision-makers. Looking at Irene, who was seated at the head of the table, Sordil asked, "Irene, what happened? Why did you call everyone here in such a hurry?"
Irene glanced around the hall and, after confirming that no one was missing, she spoke up, "Since everyone is here, I won't hold back anymore! Just now, I received a report from the border patrol that the dragons of the Western Continent have split into three groups and are attacking our Ishgar."
"What?! Split into three groups? These bastards from the Western Continent are seriously underestimating us!"
"I didn't expect them to be so arrogant. Well, that's fine. We'll concentrate our superior forces and take out one of them first!"
"That's right! Let these muscle-bound, simple-minded bastards witness the power of Ishgar!"
"But what about the other two enemy groups if we do that?"
"Yes, if we let them get away with it, we might be surrounded by them!"
"Tch! King of Babaronza, can't you guys have a bit more guts?"
"Chief Masergrera, this is not a matter of courage, but a matter of strategy!"
"Strategy? Can you eat that?"
"Masergrera, you're mistaken. Strategy can be incredibly useful!"
"Alright, Xizhalansa! I see you're just like them, you've forgotten how dragons fight!"
"You..."
Seeing that the King's faction and the Chief's faction were about to fight, Sordil and Irene quickly stepped in to stop the conflict and mediate between the two factions.
"Alright, we're all trying to deal with the dragons of the Western Continent, so why argue?"
"Yes! Yes! We should all value harmony, we should all value harmony!"
With the couple working together harmoniously, the relationship between the two sides eased. At this moment, Sordil turned around and asked, "By the way, Irene! How's the scorched-earth strategy we discussed going?"
Hearing her husband's question, Irene hurriedly replied, "Before the Evil Dragon from the Western Continent set off, I had already made arrangements for all the people and dragons of the Principality of Babaronza near the battlefield, following a scorched-earth strategy. Now, there is nothing there but rocks and weeds to eat. As for the nearby water sources, Miss Anna used Quality Magic to remove them all, so the Evil Dragon will not be able to replenish their water and food after entering the battlefield."
"Hmm! That's good! However, this time the enemies are all dragons, so they can only cause them some trouble, but cannot cause them any damage. Therefore, we still need to decide on a counterattack plan as soon as possible."
Upon learning that the Sordil couple had secretly devised such a formidable scheme, everyone in the hall felt secretly relieved. Fortunately, the two were allies, not adversaries; otherwise, they would have been in dire straits. However, when they realized that such ruthless measures could only cause some trouble but not harm their opponents, the King's faction began to feel a headache coming on, and cold sweat broke out all over their bodies.
"Brother Sordil, what do you think we should do?"
Having grown accustomed to relying on Sordil as their intellectual leader, Igneel habitually deflected the question upon hearing these matters. After Igneel spoke, the other four Dragon Kings followed suit, seconding the motion.
"Yes, Brother Sordil, you'd better make a decision soon!"
"Yes! Yes! Brother Sordil, you'd better come up with a plan for us!"
"Sordil, just say what you think. If there's anything inappropriate, we can discuss it together."
"Brother Sordil, Grandiere is right. We can discuss any problems we have!"
Atlas Flame, Masergrera, and the other Number Two- commands watched as their troublesome leader obediently sought guidance from Sordil, staring at him with the eyes of someone revering a god. In fact Sordil Sordil accepted the adoration of everyone and all the dragons present. Oh, and by the way! Besides the adoration, he also received little hearts from the eyes of Irene, Grandiere, and Yelibell.
Stared at by everyone with such strange looks, Sordil felt a chill run down his spine. To break the eerie atmosphere, Sordil cleared his throat and spoke his prepared response.
"Everyone, I've just come up with a solution, and I'd like to share it with you now. If there's anything inappropriate, please feel free to point it out."
No sooner had Sordil finished speaking than his number one fan King of Babaronza, immediately chimed in.
"Prince Sordil, please tell us your method! If there's anything wrong with it, we'll all point it out for you!"
"Yes! Just tell me!"
"Yes, go ahead and say it!"
Encouraged by the cheers of the onlookers, Sordil began to explain his strategy.
"My plan is this: the enemy is attacking from three directions, and we must also divide our forces into three to meet them. However, these three armies cannot attack simultaneously. Two of the armies only need to leave a small number of men to hold key positions and prevent the enemy from cutting off their retreat. The rest of the Lily the Teleportation Array to gather at the other army and concentrate their strength to eliminate the weaker enemy. If an emergency occurs on the other two routes, we can use the Teleportation Array to send the troops to the dangerous route, repel the enemy, and resolve the crisis!"
Upon hearing Sordil's plan, both the King's faction and the Chief's faction nodded in approval (of course, most of the Chief's faction couldn't fully digest the plan, but they still had to put on a show!).
"Prince Sordil, this plan is excellent. It allows us to concentrate our forces to eliminate the enemy while avoiding being cut off by the Evil Dragon of the Western Continent."
"Indeed, this method is ingenious!"
Hearing the praise for Sordil, Igneel puffed out his chest proudly and muttered something under his breath.
"That's right! Don't you even know whose brother he is!"
The same thing happened to Grandiere, Irene, and Yelibell, only their lines were slightly changed; the word "brother" at the end of their sentences was replaced with "husband" or "future husband."
Just as public opinion was turning in favor of praise, an untimely voice rang out.
"Sordil, you just said that if one of the routes encounters danger, we can use the Teleportation Array to transport the army there and resolve the crisis. But what if both routes encounter danger at the same time?"
Faced with this sudden blow, Sordil was stunned for a long time. After a long while, he finally spoke, "I hadn't thought of this before. Hmm... how about this? We'll leave a portion of our forces in the capital as reserves. If a situation arises where both fronts are in crisis, the reserves will rush to one front, while the main force will rush to the other. This will ensure that no major crisis occurs at the front. What do you all think?"
With the only loophole plugged, everyone had even less to say about Sordil's plan and readily agreed.
"Alright! Since everyone agrees on this battle plan, let's proceed accordingly! First, let's decide which personnel will remain in the capital as reserves and which will go to the front lines!"
