Dragon-Slaying Makes Its Debut (Part 1)
With the guidance of his mentor Yelibell, a glimmer of light finally appeared in Sordil's dim world. Following this light, he slowly moved towards his inner world, when suddenly a touch of Crimson appeared in this pure white world.
"Irene, is that you?"
Hearing Sordil's call, the Crimson figure slowly turned her face.
"Irene, it really is you!"
After confirming the other party's identity, Sordil rushed forward.
Just as the young master took action, Irene, still smiling, began to drift away. Seeing this, the young master immediately used wind magic and Gale Force to increase his speed, attempting to catch up with Her Majesty the Queen. However, no matter how hard he chased, Irene always maintained a distance from him, unable to get close. Unable to catch up, the young master could only shout loudly, hoping to stop Her Majesty the Queen from leaving.
"Irene, don't go!"
"Irene, wait for me, don't go!"
But Her Majesty the Queen seemed not to hear his shouts, and continued to drift forward without stopping.
The two continued moving forward, and before they knew it, other colors began to appear in the previously pale world. Just as the young master realized something was wrong, a sea of trees suddenly appeared before him, along with a towering mountain peak that seemed to pierce the clouds. Before he could even examine his surroundings, his vision abruptly shifted, and the earth appeared beneath his feet, with the mountain standing beside him.
At this moment, the young master could clearly see the people bustling about on the mountain peak, as well as the giant dragons lying on the mountaintop rolling around and basking in the sun.
Suddenly, five extremely familiar figures entered the young master's field of vision, confirming the identity of the mountain before him. Just as Sordil was about to turn around and ask Irene why she had brought him here, his gaze shifted again.
The forest and mountains vanished instantly, replaced by a massive, bluish-gray city. The Her Majesty the Queen, who had been standing beside him, now wore brocade robes and a crown, seated atop the city's highest point, smiling at him. Just as he was about to ask what was happening, the world trembled violently, and at the same time, a shout, its tone gradually rising, entered his ears.
"You little rascal, what's wrong with you? Don't scare me!"
"You little rascal, it's just a defeat. We still have a chance to turn things around. You have to think positively!"
After finally securing his head, which was practically being shaken to the point of exploding with mayonnaise, the young master said, both angry and amused, "Uncle Sage Dragon, if you don't stop now, I'm really going to get into trouble!"
Seeing that Sordil had opened his eyes, Sage Dragon awkwardly withdrew his hand and said sheepishly, "Well... you were calling Irene's name loudly just now, but you didn't respond when we called you. I thought something had happened to you, so... hehe!"
After listening to Sage Dragon's explanation, Sordil smiled and shook his head, then said, "Uncle Sage Dragon, I was just thinking about how to deal with the current situation, and some of the things involved Irene, which is why I called out her name loudly. As for not answering your question, it's because I was completely focused on thinking and didn't hear you at all."
"Oh! I see! Have you thought of a solution?"
"I've come up with a solution, but I need to go back to Dragunov. I'll leave this place to you and Uncle Sacred Dragon!"
Before Sage Dragon could answer, Sacred Dragon, who had been standing silently to the side for most of the day, spoke up first, "You brat, don't worry, this time the two of us will definitely not let the enemy sneak in again!"
"I think so too! Alright, I should get going now, everyone take care!"
After speaking, Sordil waved his hands and disappeared into a silvery-white light.
Central Ishgar, Mysterious Cave
While Sordil and the dragons of the Western Continent were locked in a bloody battle, other forces lurking in Ishgar were not idle either.
"Shadow, how's the situation on the battlefield? Have our friends in the west succeeded?"
"Reporting to the master, our friends in the west have successfully breached our Old Friend's defenses and are currently pursuing and eliminating the remnants of our Old Friend's forces."
"Where is my Old Friend? How is Old Friend? Is he dead?"
"Master, our Old Friend did not die, but led his men to successfully break through the encirclement. They are now stationed in Peterburg City of Principality of Saint Dreo."
"Sigh! I knew it, Old Friend aren't so easy to deal with! Humph! It's fine this way, it's more interesting to send Old Friend on their way personally than to have a fake one in hand."
"Master, although our Old Friend was defeated by our friends in the west, his power is still formidable and beyond our ability to contend with!"
"Of course I know that, but why should we be foolish enough to clash head-on with Old Friend? Wouldn't it be better to stay in the shadows and wait for the right opportunity?"
Hearing her master's words, Ying felt much relieved, because she no longer needed to worry that her master would impulsively seek out her Old Friend and risk his life. Just as Ying was feeling extremely grateful for her master's intelligence, new instructions came from the front.
"Shadow, you go to Peterburg City immediately to find out where our Old Friend is and prepare for our next move."
"Yes, sir!"
Asia City, Western Continent Camp
After several hours and at a certain cost, Kelsu and his men finally escaped the clutches of the Underworld and pursued them. However, they were exhausted and demoralized, so they did not immediately attack Peterburg City. Instead, they built a camp outside the city to recuperate and wait for an opportunity.
Not long after the camp was completed, the commanders of the northern and southern fronts rushed over and held an emergency military meeting with Kelsu.
"Those guys on the other side are so slippery! I even set up an ambush beforehand, but they still managed to break through!" (Delsd)
"Who says otherwise! I originally thought that this sudden pincer attack would wipe out the garrison at North Camp in one fell swoop, but I didn't expect them to be so prepared. If I hadn't acted quickly, I probably would have missed them!" (Goodpes)
"Heh! You two are lucky! Not only did I fail to wipe out the enemy, but I also lost hundreds of lives! (Kelsu)"
"Really? Kelsu, you're not kidding us, are you? (Delsd)"
"Lie to you? Hmph! Brother, you're overthinking it! If you don't believe me, you can go directly to my camp and check how many troops I actually have left. (Kelsu)"
"No way? How did it get like this?" (Delsd)
"Ah! This is a long story, I'll tell you about it when I have more time later!" (Kelsu)
"No, this concerns our subsequent action plan, you must explain it to us now!" (Goodpes)
"Good is right. You must tell us exactly what happened to avoid Good and me falling into the same crisis next time." (Delsd)
Seeing that the two insisted, Kelsu had no choice but to recount in detail their experiences at the Central Camp.
"So, according to you, the root cause of all this is that so-called Fusion Magic? (Goodpes)"
"That's right! (Kelsu)"
"Have you found out who cast the Fusion Magic? (Delsd)"
Kelsu didn't speak, but gently shook his head.
"Really? The enemy was so close to you, and you had so many new colleagues coming from the other side. Didn't a single one of them recognize who was casting the Fusion Magic? (Delsd)"
"Some of my new colleagues naturally recognized who had cast the spell, but before they could tell me, they were all swallowed up by that terrifying spring. (Kelsu)"
"This is troublesome; we don't even know where to begin in order to prevent attacks." (Goodpes)
Seeing the two at a loss, one of the three giants, Delsd, suddenly burst into hearty laughter.
"Ha ha!"
"Ha ha!"
"Delsd, what are you laughing at? (Kelsu)"
"I laugh at the three of us, so clever all our lives, for being so foolish this time, ignoring the readily available shortcut and wasting our brain cells here. (Delsd)"
You mean... (Goodpes)
Goodpes didn't say what followed, but instead pointed in the direction of Ishgar.
"That's right, it's them! (Delsd)"
"Yes! Excellent! Let's do it that way!" (Goodpes)
"Hey, hey... wait! We can let our Old Friend handle the investigation, but this won't be resolved quickly. What should we do in the meantime? Continue the attack, or remain inactive? (Kelsu)"
"For safety's sake, it's best for us to remain inactive for the time being. After all, we haven't gained a decisive advantage yet, and any mistake could reverse the situation again. (Goodpes)"
"Yes, neither we nor the enemy can afford any more losses right now, so it's better to play it safe!" (Delsd)
"Okay, I understand!"
Just as Kelsu and his Old Friend were racking their brains to plot against Sordil, another hidden force was trying to make contact with Sordil in order to send Kelsu and the others to the underworld.
"How's it going? Have you made contact with them yet?"
"They are staying put all day and night, so there is no chance to make contact with them, let alone send that intelligence over."
"No, we must contact them immediately, otherwise our lives will never be guaranteed."
"Boss, they're backed into a corner now. Do they still have the ability to guarantee our safety?"
"Forced into a corner? I don't think so! It's still hard to say who will emerge victorious!"
"But, boss..."
"Alright, don't say anything more, just do as I say!"
"Yes, sir! I obey!"
