Ch. 689True Dragon Lord's Plot? The War Ends

Tang Zheng's Shadow Clone arrived on the central battlefield with an army of powerful summoned monsters, forcing Ainz to fear that Nazarick faced multiple Players and consider ending the war. As Zanac saw the battle's overwhelming scale, he asked Gazef to take him to the front; Zanac died by his own hand, and the Re-Estize Kingdom was destroyed.

  • Aura wounded Zesshi Zetsumei with Galaxy One Shot, but Tang Zheng's Shadow Clone appeared with summoned monsters and protected her from Aura and Albedo.
  • Pandora joined Aura and Albedo as the three Guardians faced the Shadow Clone and the monster army.
  • Ainz watched the battlefield through Nazarick's Crystal Screen and suspected the enemy had multiple Players and a way to extend summoned monsters' duration.
  • Ainz concluded that the war needed to stop, while Zanac and Gazef watched the overwhelming forces from the rear.
  • Zanac asked Gazef to take him to the battlefield, then died by his own hand on November 16 as the Re-Estize Kingdom fell.

Ch. 690Seven Days: Holy Queen Calca's Bewilderment

Remedios learned that the Sorcerer Kingdom had destroyed the Council State, conquered the Kingdom, and brought several nations under its control, leaving the Holy Kingdom uncertain about its future. In the Abelion Hills, Gazef helped restore order among the growing crowds of Kingdom refugees.

  • Remedios visited Holy Queen Calca and Kelart after hearing that Kingdom refugees and Demi-Humans were entering the Abelion Hills.
  • Kelart explained that the Sorcerer Kingdom had annihilated the Council State with Soul Eaters, while the Slane Theocracy had repelled an invasion using powerful Angels and saved some Kingdom citizens.
  • Calca said the former Kingdom had been divided between the Sorcerer Kingdom and the Slane Theocracy, and that the Baharuth Empire and Casanas City Alliance had become Sorcerer Kingdom vassals.
  • At the western entrance to the Abelion Hills, human refugees resisted Bafolk instructions and a troublemaker was killed by an arrow.
  • Gazef arrived with elite soldiers, calmed the crowd, and continued patrolling as refugees poured into the hills.

Ch. 691The True Ruler of the Hills? Free Will

Tang Zheng oversaw the resettlement of the Kingdom’s refugees in the Abelion Hills and met with Princess Renner and the surviving nobles to discuss the Kingdom’s future. Earl Urovana challenged Tang Zheng’s lack of royal etiquette, leaving the meeting tense as the nobles considered who would control the next steps.

  • Tang Zheng watched trolls and orcs clear the forest and worried that the cost of relocating the Kingdom’s people exceeded expectations.
  • Tang Zheng reunited with Enri and Blackie, reassured Enri that Cuiye was safe, and learned that Crusch Lulu had settled Carne Village’s people in a secure area.
  • Tang Zheng, Enri, and Crusch Lulu arrived at Revival Town, where Climb and Lainas guarded Princess Renner’s meeting place.
  • Climb brought Tang Zheng and his companions to meet Princess Renner and six surviving great nobles, including Earl Raeven and Earl Urovana.
  • Earl Urovana rebuked Tang Zheng for failing to show proper respect to Princess Renner, and the nobles watched to see how he would respond.

Ch. 692Killing the Chicken to Scare the Monkeys, Taking Control

Tang Zheng used Princess Renner’s support and Free Will’s alliances to take control of the nobles’ meeting and secure land and tax concessions for people relocating to the Abelion Hills. After the nobles left, Tang Zheng confronted Princess Renner about sacrificing her brothers to advance her strategy.

  • Earl Raeven and the other great nobles challenged Tang Zheng’s authority, but Tang Zheng argued that someone had to make decisions for the Kingdom’s millions of displaced citizens.
  • Crusch Lulu explained that the Abelion Hills had been divided between humans and Demi-Humans, while Tang Zheng revealed that the Slane Theocracy and the Holy Kingdom would provide aid.
  • Tang Zheng accused Earl Broum Lau of leaking wartime intelligence, and Lainas dragged him from the meeting after Princess Renner allowed Tang Zheng to decide his fate.
  • Tang Zheng persuaded Earl Pespe, Earl Raeven, Princess Renner, and the other nobles to distribute land or reduce taxes so more people could remain in the Kingdom’s territory.
  • After the meeting, Tang Zheng told Princess Renner that only she could have devised a strategy that made her brothers sacrifice themselves.

Ch. 693Renner's Proposal, Ainz's Burden

Princess Renner proposed marrying Tang Zheng in name and using the Kingdom’s remaining people to establish his rule, but Tang Zheng postponed the decision and focused on rebuilding. Meanwhile, Ainz visited Nazarick’s library to check on research into a scroll, burdened by the threat of a mysterious Player faction.

  • Princess Renner offered to become Tang Zheng’s wife in name and help him rule the Kingdom’s surviving people, but Lainas interrupted and objected.
  • Tang Zheng told Renner to prioritize stabilizing the people, rebuilding the Adventurer’s and Magic Caster’s Guilds, and preparing plans concerning the Sorcerer Kingdom and other human nations.
  • Tang Zheng learned from Climb that Kialé had founded the Redemption Society to help war victims, then left with his companions.
  • Ainz reflected on Nazarick’s many postwar responsibilities and the threat posed by a mysterious Player faction as he entered the Primeval Library.
  • An Elder Lich told Ainz that the chief librarian was researching the scroll, and Ainz asked to be taken to the researcher.

Ch. 694Three Enemies? The Worst-Case Scenario

Ainz learned from Titus that the enemy’s White Magic Scrolls were made using a process unlike Nazarick’s, possibly requiring little or no Game Gold and suggesting a Production Class specialist among their ranks. He abandoned thoughts of retaliation and covert investigation and asked Titus what Nazarick would need to master the technique.

  • Ainz visited the Library and asked Titus about the White Scrolls captured from the Slane Theocracy’s forces.
  • Titus demonstrated how Ainz’s Greater Teleportation spell could be infused into dragonhide parchment to create a Seventh-Tier Magic Scroll using Game Gold.
  • Titus explained that the enemy’s White Scrolls used a magical byproduct as material and appeared to consume very little or no Game Gold.
  • Ainz realized the enemy might have a third Player or NPC specializing in Production Classes and could mass-produce powerful scrolls.
  • Ainz decided against retaliation or covert investigation and asked Titus what problems Nazarick would need to solve to learn the enemy’s method.

Ch. 695Wish Upon a Star vs. Nameless Spellbook

Ainz investigated New World scroll-making techniques and used a Meteor Ring to wish for the magic behind the White Magic Scrolls, only to learn that no such magic existed. The chapter revealed that the scroll-making knowledge was tied to the World Item [Nameless Spellbook], while Saphis Xoth watched its papermaking entries flicker.

  • Ainz practiced courtly gestures and phrases before meeting with Albedo, who reported that a rebellion in the Karsanas City-State Alliance had been suppressed and its captured participants sent to an outpost.
  • Ainz ordered Albedo to investigate the captured Hero and to gather scroll makers, potion makers, and their methods from across the countries.
  • Albedo told Ainz that Tang, leader of the Adamantite Rank team Free Will, was a renowned Genius Alchemist living in the Abelion Hills.
  • After speaking with Titus, Ainz learned that the collected New World scroll-making techniques were inferior and decided to use Wish Upon a Star to obtain the magic behind the White Magic Scrolls.
  • Ainz’s wish revealed that no such magic existed, so he suspected the scroll had been created through a World Item and lamented wasting the Meteor Ring’s power.
  • In the Floating City, Saphis Xoth watched papermaking entries flicker gray on the World Item [Nameless Spellbook].

Ch. 696"Easter Egg" Ability

Tang Zheng explained how [Nameless Spellbook] could erase spells he had created, preventing Ainz from learning Papermaking after Nazarick seized scrolls. Four Elements then told him the Cardinals had chosen Abelion Hills for the Human Alliance meeting.

  • Tang Zheng learned from Saphis Xoth that [Nameless Spellbook] had reacted as expected after the Magic Scrolls were revealed.
  • Tang Zheng used [Nameless Spellbook] to erase Fourth- through Tenth-Tier Papermaking, and Saphis Xoth could no longer cast those spells outside the item's range.
  • Tang Zheng reasoned that Ainz could not learn Papermaking without reaching the Floating City and obtaining [Nameless Spellbook].
  • Tang Zheng considered creating a spell that could use multiple Magic Scrolls at once to overcome the limits of scroll tactics.
  • Four Elements told Tang Zheng that the Cardinals had chosen Abelion Hills as the location for the Human Alliance meeting.

Ch. 697Gathering in the Hills: Foxman Raies

Holy Queen Calca’s delegation traveled to the Abelion Hills, where she recognized the extensive farmland as evidence of Captain Tang’s influence over the Demi-Humans. At a gathering to form an alliance against the Sorcerer Kingdom, Tang Zheng noticed Foxman Raies and wondered whether the Platinum Dragon Lord would contact him.

  • Holy Queen Calca and Remedios saw vast farmland in the hills, and Calca inferred that Captain Tang held more control over the Demi-Humans than expected.
  • Gazef met Pabel Baraja, who praised him, and then reunited with Brain, who said he had joined the Redemption Society.
  • Brain hinted that the Redemption Society was connected to Eight Fingers and reflected on how Zurrernorn’s leader had revived him.
  • Water God Cardinal Gael addressed the assembled human and Demi-Human leaders after their meeting and thanked them for joining the alliance.
  • Tang Zheng looked at Foxman Raies and wondered whether the Platinum Dragon Lord would secretly contact him.

Ch. 698Divine Blood? Ainz Appears?

Tang Zheng spoke with Draudillon about support for the fallen Draconic Kingdom, then learned that Ainz’s adventurer team Jet Black had brought news of the legendary potion Divine Blood to the former Royal Capital. He suspected Ainz was using the potion as bait to draw out Tang of Free Will and faced pressure to investigate without exposing his identity.

  • Raies left the gathering after acknowledging Tang Zheng’s authority over the Abelion Hills, and Tang Zheng considered monitoring him while planning to seek information about the Slane Theocracy and other Player factions.
  • Draudillon asked Tang Zheng for private help, and he offered demi-human assistance to help restore the Draconic Kingdom after learning she could not contact her great-grandfather.
  • Calca and Renner joined Tang Zheng and Draudillon, but Tang Zheng later slipped away and met Adventurer’s Guild President Tosquir.
  • Tosquir told Tang Zheng that Jet Black had arrived in the former Royal Capital three days earlier and offered information about Divine Blood in exchange for Regeneration Potions.
  • Tang Zheng suspected Ainz had used the Divine Blood report to lure Tang of Free Will into investigating, but worried that either investigating or ignoring it could expose his identity.

Ch. 700Adventurer Identity: Encounter in the Royal Capital

Ainz and Narberal stayed in the Royal Capital as adventurers to investigate the Slane Theocracy’s strange battlefield potion and meet Tang, an Adamantite Rank adventurer. Tang sent a Shadow Clone to the Adventurer’s Guild, where he finally met Ainz face-to-face.

  • Ainz and Narberal toured the desolate Royal Capital before returning to their inn, where Ainz insisted they remain to protect his Fei Fei identity and pursue their investigation.
  • Ainz explained that he wanted to learn about the Slane Theocracy’s strange potion by contacting Tang, and he warned Narberal not to capture Tang because doing so could expose them and provoke war.
  • A guild staff member told Ainz and Narberal that Tang was waiting at the Adventurer’s Guild, and Ainz prepared with spells and changed equipment before leaving.
  • Tang waited at the guild as a Shadow Clone, using Expression Acting to appear natural while he tried to gauge Ainz’s intentions.
  • Ainz and Narberal met Tang in the reception room, where Narberal bristled at Tang’s direct gaze and Ainz calmly greeted him.

Ch. 701God-King and Supreme Beings: The End

Ainz and Tang Zheng exchanged Regeneration Potions for Divine Blood, then discussed the Sorcerer Kingdom’s rule and the kind of government that could endure. They parted without learning each other’s true identities, and Tang Zheng destroyed the potion while concluding Nazarick’s plans remained unchanged.

  • Tang Zheng delivered a thousand doses of Regeneration Potion and received Ainz’s Divine Blood, which he identified as a Low Tier Heal.
  • Tang Zheng revealed that the exchange was over and said he had been sent by the Slane Theocracy, leading Ainz to mistake their meeting for a recruitment attempt.
  • Ainz defended the Sorcerer Kingdom’s rule and argued that immortal geniuses could govern more reliably, while Tang Zheng said rulers should retain their humanity.
  • Ainz asked Tang Zheng about Magic Scrolls, and the two adventurer leaders parted without taking further action against each other.
  • Tang Zheng concluded that Nazarick would continue Demiurge’s plan to conquer the world and destroyed the Low Tier Heal with Item Destruction.

Ch. 702The Fairies' "Three Breaths Festival" New Year

Yaluer left the Inbu-An Tribe to join Wuwu’s Fairy Caravan, where she met Stone Gut and Mara and learned about the Fairies’ Three Breaths Festival. Meanwhile, Tang Zheng served Enri and the others a dish made with ingredients from the Great Forest of Evasha.

  • Yaluer received a Burrowing Beast hide from Little Ten and wondered whether the caravan she had been waiting for was safe.
  • Wuwu arrived and invited Yaluer to join the caravan, so Yaluer gathered her monster hides and slipped away from the Orc tribe.
  • At Shadowrustle Woods, Wuwu introduced Yaluer to Stone Gut and Mara as the caravan’s new companion.
  • Wuwu performed the Fairies’ Three Breaths Festival rite, and Mara explained its prayers to the Fairy God, the ancestors, and fellow Fairies.
  • Yaluer silently wished the Hero a happy New Year beneath the moon.
  • At the Abelion Hills, Tang Zheng served Enri, Crusch Lulu, Princess Lana, Lainas, and the others Crescent Secret Coffer made with ingredients from the Great Forest of Evasha.

Ch. 703Fairy Magic Caster: Red Drop's Relocation

Fairy Uu Uu’s caravan welcomed Yaluer and used Fairy Path to travel to a distant forest, where Yaluer learned how fairies’ forest-traveling power could be borrowed. Meanwhile, Azis settled in the Slane Theocracy with Red Drop, and the Platinum Dragon Lord warned him that the country might not survive another attack from the Sorcerer Kingdom.

  • Fairy Uu Uu welcomed Yaluer into the caravan, and the group set out through Shadow Forest with their monster pelts.
  • Fairy Uu Uu explained that fairies could use Fairy Path to travel within forests and that Purple Tree Sap was a favorite offering before she teleported the group away.
  • Azis arrived on the island in the Slane Theocracy where the Gemstone Dragon Lord and Platinum Dragon Lord lived.
  • The Platinum Dragon Lord told Azis that only half of the Re-Estize Kingdom had been destroyed, then warned that the Slane Theocracy might not withstand another Sorcerer Kingdom attack.
  • The Platinum Dragon Lord said he had brought Azis and Red Drop to safety partly because Azis was human, and he recalled that he still had sources of information about Ainz Ooal Gown.

Ch. 704Dragon Claw Sword: Go Gin's Whereabouts

Tang Zheng reviewed reports about a Fairy Caravan and questioned Butler Imlaris about the Fairy race. The Dwarf craftsmen completed the Dragon Claw Sword, and the chapter ended with Tang Zheng asking where Go Gin was.

  • Grey Dwarf Duan, Dwarf Gondo, and Dark Dwarf Shi forged the runes into a Dragon Lord claw nail while Frostborn Banshees cooled them.
  • Dwarf Gondo tested the completed Dragon Claw Sword on a monster bone, which melted into the weapon and confirmed their success.
  • Tang Zheng studied Yaluer's information about a Fairy Caravan and considered how Fairy markers enabled travel between forests.
  • Star served Tang Zheng Rainbow Flan, and he asked her to summon Butler Imlaris.
  • Imlaris told Tang Zheng that the Fairy race had been weak at least five hundred years earlier.
  • Tang Zheng asked Imlaris where Go Gin was currently located.

Ch. 705The God-King Is the Grey Dwarves' True God! Failure

Tang Zheng asked Imlaris to accelerate exploration beyond the northwest continent and searched for information about the Purple Tree before going to inspect the dwarves’ newly forged Dragon Claw Sword. The sword failed to become part of his Body Armament, leaving the dwarves to consider how they could make matching equipment for it.

  • Imlaris reported that Go Gin was traveling toward the Troll Great Nation and suggested sending Floating City personnel to investigate, but Tang Zheng refused and said the lack of intelligence made caution necessary.
  • Tang Zheng told Imlaris to search the warehouse for Purple Tree Sap or information about the Purple Tree, then received a message that Horned Rage had succeeded and went to the forge.
  • Gondo, Dark Dwarf Shi, and Grey Dwarf Duan showed Tang Zheng the Dragon Claw Sword they had forged from a Dragon Lord’s claw.
  • Tang Zheng used Blessing of Abundance to absorb the sword into his Body Armament, but he could not summon it back because the armor had treated it as raw material.
  • Tang Zheng explained that he needed a weapon that could become part of the Body Armament or share its ability, and the three dwarves discussed whether they should create matching equipment.

Ch. 706Imina's Investigation and Plans

Imina gathered Purple Tree juice for Tang Zheng and helped him investigate the Dark Elves’ migration and the Fairies, whose rumored travel magic could support his intelligence plans. Tang Zheng then teleported a Shadow Clone to Go Gin in the Demonkin nation of Toon, where Go Gin was seeking a worthy opponent.

  • Imina returned to Tang Zheng with more than a dozen bottles of Purple Tree juice gathered by Forest Elves, and Tang Zheng offered to pay her when she decided what she wanted.
  • Tang Zheng reviewed the Dark Elves’ uncertain accounts of their migration from the Great Forest of Tob and learned they believed they had lost the Fairy Blessing that let them use the Fairy Path.
  • Tang Zheng considered using the widely known Fairies and their teleportation magic to infiltrate other regions and gather intelligence, but decided their mysterious origins needed further investigation.
  • Tang Zheng left Imina in charge of the Great Forest of Evasha alongside Dryad Pinison, then teleported away to avoid the teacup she threw at him.
  • In Toon, Go Gin camped with his Wind Snake, Storm, and hoped to find a strong Earth Demon opponent.
  • Tang Zheng appeared as a Shadow Clone, surprising Go Gin, who suspected the Wind Serpent Ring he had received from Cuiye might be tracking him.

Ch. 707Go Gin's "Mission": A Fairy Appears

Tang Zheng sought the Fairies’ help to send Go Gin to the Troll Great Nation so he could build a reputation and help secure support against the Sorcerer Kingdom. After searching the Great Forest of Toon, they attracted a Fairy, who snatched Tang Zheng’s Purple Tree Leaf Juice.

  • Tang Zheng told Go Gin that Rokesh of the Rainbow Scales had died and explained that the Sorcerer Kingdom had conquered the Kingdom and made the Baharuth Empire and City State Alliance its vassals.
  • Tang Zheng asked Go Gin to travel to the Troll Great Nation and earn renown through battle, hoping to gain support from one of the Central Six Nations.
  • Tang Zheng and Go Gin searched the Great Forest of Toon for signs of Fairies, using burning Purple Tree Leaf Juice to attract them.
  • After a magical fluctuation appeared on their second day of searching, Tang Zheng prepared another bottle of Purple Tree Leaf Juice, but a Fairy used Wind Wing to snatch it and cry that it was being wasted.

Ch. 708Negotiations for Sending Someone to the Troll Great Nation

Tang Zheng hired Fairy Mil to teleport Go Gin to the Troll Great Nation, paying with a magic ring that summoned a Moonlight Wolf. After Mil returned, Tang Zheng asked him to arrange an introduction to a Fairy elder in exchange for Purple Tree Leaf Juice, and Mil angrily realized Tang Zheng had been using the bargain to pursue another goal.

  • Fairy Mil discovered Tang Zheng and Go Gin together, then agreed to teleport Go Gin to the Troll Great Nation in exchange for Tang Zheng's Moonlight Wolf ring and fifty portions of Purple Tree Leaf Juice.
  • Fairy Mil and Go Gin traveled east through several Fairy Path teleportations while Tang Zheng waited in the forest and tracked Go Gin's Magic Mark.
  • On the seventh day, Fairy Mil returned and confirmed that he had sent Go Gin to the Troll Great Nation.
  • Tang Zheng admitted he had not brought the promised Purple Tree Leaf Juice and offered a large amount in exchange for an introduction to a Fairy elder.
  • Fairy Mil grew angry and accused Tang Zheng of being untrustworthy because he had befriended a Troll.

Ch. 709Charm Species: All—The Dust Star Dragon Lord Arrives

Tang Zheng overcame Fairy Mil’s attacks, compelled her to reveal information about the Fairy Tribe, and considered testing its settlement. Meanwhile, the Dust Star Dragon Lord arrived at the Slane Theocracy to confront the Platinum Dragon Lord, leaving the two Dragon Lords alone together.

  • Fairy Mil threatened Tang Zheng over the missing Purple Tree Leaf Juice, then tried to charm him and attacked with wind magic when her spell failed.
  • Tang Zheng summoned a Wind Elemental Spirit, pursued Mil when she fled, and used Charm Species: All to question her about the Fairy Tribe and its Three Elders.
  • After releasing Mil from the charm, Tang Zheng asked whether she wanted to become a hero of the Fairy Tribe and planned to investigate the fairies’ settlement.
  • The Dust Star Dragon Lord arrived on the island and confronted the Gemstone Dragon Lord Sel, while Azis struggled under the Dragon Lords’ pressure.
  • The Platinum Dragon Lord Char arrived, sent Sel and Azis away, and challenged the Dust Star Dragon Lord over his spies and the destruction of his northern country.
