Background / History

Zhunti emerged from Mount Sumeru alongside his senior brother Jieyin during the early Primordial era. When he encountered Hong Yun outside an ownerless grotto-heaven, Zhunti falsely claimed that its spiritual item belonged to him, then attempted to seize it with force. Hong Yun ambushed him instead and beat him for a hundred years, leaving Zhunti unable to resist before he reluctantly agreed to settle their karma. 8 9 10

At Purple Cloud Palace, Zhunti and Jieyin endured a difficult journey through Inner Chaos due to their lack of protective treasures and weaker body refinement. Upon arriving, Zhunti coveted the foremost meditation cushions, joined Jieyin in attacking Kunpeng for a seat, and later plotted against Minghe after judging Hong Yun too dangerous to target directly. 24 27

Zhunti later made grand vows for the revival of the West, accepting a heavy debt of Merit. His vows led to his elevation as a Heavenly Dao Saint, but the debt repeatedly motivated his attempts to acquire talent, Merit, territory, and influence for the Western Sect. 163 193 224
