• Mountain rulers: powerful demons maintain territories, subordinate forces, and alliances. The Crimson Flood Dragon King, Black Feather King, and Demon Ape King swear brotherhood to oppose the Black-Armored Dragon Tortoise Beast 1234.
• Unstable alliances: the Crimson Flood Dragon King later seeks to exploit his ally’s exhaustion, kill him, and seize Black Feather Mountain 1242.

Morality and Human Relations

Demons are not uniformly evil. Old Master explicitly distinguishes good and evil individuals among both humans and demons, while Xiao Chen judges murderous demons by their deeds rather than condemning the entire race 1093 1298.

Predatory factions nevertheless enslave humans, consume villagers, and use captives as servants or cultivation materials. The Demon Hound Grotto maintains human slaves, while the Seven Demon Sect trades human flesh and medicine with demons under a false reputation for protecting civilians 1152 1342.

Cooperation also crosses racial boundaries. The Black-Armored Dragon Tortoise Beast protects villages and kills a demon prince to save civilians; Qiongqi and Hong Chidao act as Xiao Chen’s protectors 796 1218. Even the Myriad Dynasty War permits the Demon Race a limited number of participation slots 1401.

Major Conflicts

Great Xia and Bloodfeather Mountain

The Demon Domain’s invasion places Great Xia in danger from the beginning of the story. A Dog Demon force later surrounds a city and demands Ye Lanxi’s surrender 1 49.

During Bloodfeather Mountain’s assault, Xiao Chen holds back ten thousand demons and kills more than nine hundred with Fire Lotus Blaze. The survivors retreat on Bloodfeather Skyhawks, and their leader plans to request a Grandmaster-level Deputy Mountain Lord’s intervention 241.

Demon Hound Grotto

Xiao Chen receives a mission against the Demon Hound General, whose forces terrorize Lijia Village and neighboring settlements. An agreement between senior human and demon powers prevents Worry-Free City’s strongest experts from freely eliminating him 1142 1162.

Xiao Chen infiltrates the grotto, discovers enslaved humans, and ultimately destroys the stronghold and kills its ruler. Lijia Village is nevertheless annihilated before he can save it 1152 1165 1210.

Fire Demon Blood Sacrifice

The Fire Demon forces conquer Scarlet Thunder City and slaughter approximately a million inhabitants, transforming their victims into Sacrificial Flowers. Xiao Chen returns to punish the occupiers, while Ant Six and Ke Hei help evacuate threatened villages 1449 1451 1457.

The conflict expands into a campaign involving roughly a million human soldiers and a million dispersed Fire Demons. Niu Qi orders sacrificial gains reserved for Jin Kui’s breakthrough, while demon-slaying rewards draw competing dynasty battle groups into the war 1492 1503.

Red Earth Demon Domain

In the Nether Realm, Xiao Chen’s merit expedition brings him into conflict with the Red Hounds. He intervenes after Green Radish Village betrays Mu Qinghan to the demons and refuses an offer to take the village’s wealth and inhabitants in exchange for leaving 1814 1815.

Against Hong Wuyun’s hundred-demon encirclement, Xiao Chen summons an ancient demonic host with the Thousand Mountains Tiger Talisman, eliminating the enemy’s numerical advantage 1822 1823 1824.
