Background / History

Proud Sword was born for swordsmanship and was raised under the belief that “the sword is life.” After Ruthless accidentally killed his father in a duel, Proud Sword abandoned his wife and children to pursue revenge through the sword. His obsession brought him to Subduing Tiger Mountain, where Ruthless defeated him and shattered his Azure Peak Longsword after warning that his unstable Sword Heart was leading him toward a demonic path. Proud Sword later visited the overgrown graves of his wife and children, yet remained unable to regret the life he had chosen. 48

Lost after his defeat, Proud Sword heard of Mu Jiuge's swordsmanship and entered Conquest Online solely to challenge him. Though level 0 against Mu Jiuge's much higher level, he overwhelmed Mu Jiuge in conventional sword exchanges before ultimately defeating him. His Sword Heart resonated with the heroic spirit Sword Sorrow, granting him the hidden class Ten Paths of the Devil Sword and restoring his purpose: to master the inheritance and eventually surpass Ruthless. 48 49

His outlook changed decisively after Beichen Ichito defeated him in the Arena. Proud Sword recognized that his pursuit of a ruthless, flawless Sword Dao had excluded emotion, while Ichito's Sword Intent drew power from affection, vows, revenge, and protection. Proud Sword's Sword Heart later shattered, leading him to abandon the Ruthless Sword path and enter the Sword Dao Domain to begin again. 694 697

Within the Sword Dao Domain, he stopped treating swordsmanship as a means to defeat others. By repeatedly losing to Sword Imprints without abandoning his love for the sword, he developed an indestructible Sword Intent and absorbed numerous inherited intents. Personality

After his failures, he gradually became calmer and more resilient. In the Sword Dao Domain, defeat no longer destabilized him; he pursued the sword purely for love of it rather than victory, status, or revenge. This change allowed him to re-condense Sword Intent without fear of failure. 698 703

Despite his aloof reputation, he can show loyalty and compassion. During the illusion-path repetitions, he developed genuine attachment to the 132 children he had initially adopted as future allies.
