Background / History

Lu Wu began as a young entrepreneur and game developer in the Human Realm. A mysterious girl, Bei Li, revealed that he descended from the King of Bei Qi, one of the Twelve Palace Lords of the Underworld. After being brought to the ruined Bei Qi territory, he chose to inherit his ancestor’s ambition to reclaim the domain and ultimately unify the Underworld. 1

Lacking his ancestor’s immense cultivation, Lu Wu proposed using the Conquest Artifact as the basis of a game that would bring mortals’ souls into the Underworld as immortal undead warriors. Bei Li adapted the artifact into the infrastructure for Conquest Online, while Lu Wu supplied the game-design vision: quests, classes, dungeons, equipment, and Soul Coin-based progression. 1 2

As the player base grew, Lu Wu treated player conflict, exploration, commerce, and warfare as engines for both player development and Bei Qi’s expansion. He designed quests and events, created NPCs and hidden classes, built cities and cross-server systems, and repeatedly converted players’ victories into Soul Power, resources, and territory. 6 17 36 742

His role changed after the Pink Lotus Pattern identified him as the Bei Qi God and leader of the Defying Heaven Alliance. Pursued by the Immortal Realm, he became increasingly tied to the Human Race’s struggle against the Heaven Realm. 219

Following the destruction of the Human Realm, Lu Wu preserved surviving human souls in the Divine Artifact Space, resurrected the Conquest players, and revealed that their “game” had always been real. He opened the way for them to fight the Heaven Realm rather than remain victims of its invasion. 756

After Little Bei Li disappeared, Lu Wu spent ten years seeking a way to restore her. He returned to rally a million players, awakened Shao Hao to lead the Human Race, and used a Reincarnation device to pursue a new path beyond the depleted Three Realms. 765

In the Extraterritorial, Lu Wu led the players through successive conquests, formed the Heavenly Devil Allied Army, pursued Extreme Path Laws and resources, and prepared for conflict with the Holy Spirit King. 768 770 835

Having witnessed centuries of conquest, slaughter, and collapsing powers, Lu Wu abandoned the goal of merely becoming the strongest. He broke into the Order Realm with the intention of creating an orderly world and ending the Dark Forest-like rule of the strong over the weak. 843

Lu Wu is strategic, adaptable, and commercially minded. His first response to inheriting a ruined Underworld territory is not conventional cultivation, but the creation of a scalable game system capable of recruiting endless immortal soldiers. 1

He prioritizes sustainable development over immediate gain. Even while short on Soul Coins, he rejects treating player deposits as a reserve he can freely spend because doing so could leave the game unable to fulfill player purchases during a crisis. 185

Despite his authority, Lu Wu initially lacks confidence in direct combat and considers himself less capable than the powerful figures who protect him. His frustration over their sacrifices eventually becomes a major source of resolve. 599 613

Centuries of extraterritorial conquest harden him enough to use ruthless methods for the survival of his own world. However, he ultimately recognizes that permanent safety cannot rest on personal strength alone and commits himself to establishing order instead. 840 843
