Background / History

Following Jiraiya's death, Fukasaku comes from Mount Myōboku to assist Konoha with Jiraiya's coded intelligence. He confronts Naruto's desire for immediate revenge by pointing out that Naruto cannot confidently defeat an enemy who overcame Jiraiya in Sage Mode. Naruto subsequently follows him to Mount Myōboku for Sage Art training. 352

Fukasaku later accompanies Naruto's return to devastated Konoha during the Six Paths of Pain assault. During the battle, he is impaled by a Black Receiver while Naruto is restrained. 373 375

When Jiraiya blocks Tsunade's party at the Land of Iron border, Fukasaku and Shima are summoned onto Jiraiya's shoulders as he enters Sage Mode. The two elder toads fight alongside Jiraiya against Li Yao's Lightning Style Clone—White Fang, but are overwhelmed by Sage Art: Decay Lightning. Mount Myōboku withdraws Jiraiya and the toads through Reverse Summoning. 508 509 510
