Background / History

Li Qiye spent millions of years trapped in the body of the Shadow Crow. When he regained his human body, he learned that thirty thousand years had passed and that the Black Dragon King—his friend—had been missing for the same length of time. He resolved to avenge him and turned his attention to the declining Washing Yan Ancient Sect. 1

During his time as the Shadow Crow, Li Qiye personally nurtured Immortal Emperor Mingren and helped establish the Washing Yan Ancient Sect. He had also concealed the mysteries of the Body Scripture across 120 seemingly unrelated martial-arts manuals, ensuring that he could recover them if his memories were ever erased. 24 29

Third Ghost Lord brought Li Qiye to the Washing Yan Ancient Sect and provided the Washing Yan Ancient Token. Using the token’s right to one request, Li Qiye demanded the position of chief disciple despite possessing a Mortal Physique, Mortal Meridians, and Mortal Fate.
