Background / History
Rain Peak Quasi-Saint was an exceptional anomaly among cultivators: despite possessing talent considered among the best of Quasi-Saints, he was infamous for catastrophic misfortune. He reportedly gained no major inheritances or ordinary Ruins opportunities, and repeatedly suffered injuries or disruptions when nearing breakthroughs. His ability to reach the Quasi-Saint Realm despite this reputation was regarded as proof of extraordinary talent. 724 737
Upon meeting Song Zhong in the Ruins, Rain Peak initially tried to separate from him. He believed Song's exceptional fortune would only make his own bad luck worse, having previously found that travelling with lucky cultivators did not protect him from disaster. 725 His experiences instead convinced him that Song Zhong could suppress his misfortune: while following Song, he avoided dangers and obtained substantial loot, eventually deciding to remain close to him. 732 733
His prolonged inability to advance from Half-Step Saint to Saint led him to seek dangerous confrontations, including entering the Sage Battlefield to fight Sages. 346 Later discussions with Song Zhong and Human Race Saints raised the possibility that he was a reincarnated powerhouse whose previous-life Dao constrained his current breakthrough. 899
Appearance
Rain Peak Quasi-Saint is broadly humanoid, but bears a pair of dragon-like horns. 1048
- His signature manifestations are two immense mountain ranges.
- The mountains commonly contain snowy ice peaks, flowing rivers, and cascading water. 780 998
- When fighting seriously, illusory mountain ranges and waterfalls can fill the surrounding sky. 787
Personality
Rain Peak is cautious to the point of appearing cowardly, particularly when his bad luck or unknown threats are involved. He prefers waiting for Song Zhong and his clones rather than entering dangerous fights without a clear advantage, insisting this is experience-based judgment rather than fear. 788
Despite this self-preserving nature, he is fiercely loyal toward those he accepts as companions. He calls Song Zhong his brother, intervenes to protect Song's Dao companion, and later enters the Human Great Thousand World specifically because of his friendship with Song. 738 766 898
He is proud of his talent and strength, easily provoked by insults or threats. His rage during the Wild Dao Alliance confrontation directly precedes an enlightenment that elevates his power. 787 788
Abilities & Skills
Mountain-Range Techniques
Rain Peak's primary combat style creates and controls colossal mountain ranges through spells and Immortal Artifacts.
- Summons two mountains capable of suppressing Quasi-Saints and blocking combined attacks. 748 787
- Uses the ranges offensively as crushing weapons, likened to Great Thousand Worlds falling from the heavens. 744 793
- Can form defensive mountain barriers from pure spells rather than his Immortal Artifacts. 754
- His mountains incorporate ice, snow, and flowing water; after a range is destroyed, its water can extinguish attacks and reconsolidate into a new icy mountain. 1048
- His mountains can withstand attacks from several Quasi-Saint Blood Corpses, but are severely damaged by Sage-level and Cosmos Ruler-level opponents. 780 346 937
Enlightenment-Enhanced Dao
Rain Peak can undergo sudden enlightenment in battle, substantially changing the form and strength of his techniques.
- His breakthrough to Half-Step Saint doubled the apparent power of his mountain ranges. 788
- Flowing water began to emerge directly from his mountains, encircling and compressing enemies. 788
- He subsequently suppressed six refined Quasi-Saint Blood Corpses while Song Zhong fought at close range. 784
- His progress is hindered by a bottleneck connected to his possible reincarnation and the need to surpass his previous life's Great Dao. 899 1048
Combat Strength
Rain Peak is considered a top-tier Quasi-Saint even before becoming a Half-Step Saint.
- He can hold back two Quasi-Saints at once and overpower opponents using Immortal Artifacts. 744
- He injured the Qilin Beast Quasi-Saint and prevented his escape, enabling Song Zhong to finish the battle. 737
- As a Half-Step Saint, he destroyed Life-Death Quasi-Saint's initial attack and later broke his Life-Death Vortex with his two mountains. 793 794
- He deliberately challenged Jingmie Cosmos Ruler to force a breakthrough, but his Dao Heart was shattered after the Ruler easily destroyed his mountain ranges. 936 937
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Two mountain-range Immortal Artifacts — His principal weapons, used to form vast mountains for offense and defense. He considers them older and not ideally suited to him. 744
- Boundless Jade pendant — Allows him to enter Great Thousand Worlds without being rejected by their world laws. 899
Relationships
- Song Zhong — Initially avoided because he feared Song's fortune would worsen his own luck; later becomes his devoted ally, calls him brother, and follows him through multiple Ruins. 725 732 738
- Lord of Cherished Flowers — Song Zhong's Dao companion. Rain Peak warns her of the danger surrounding the Lightning Dao Cosmos Ruler's tomb and protects her when she is attacked. 767 766
- Life-Death Quasi-Saint — Wild Dao Alliance opponent. Rain Peak destroys his opening attack, breaks his Life-Death Vortex, and forces him to reassess their power gap. 793 794
- Jingmie Cosmos Ruler — Opponent whose overwhelming defeat of Rain Peak's mountain ranges shatters Rain Peak's Dao Heart; Song Zhong intervenes to save him. 936 937
- Human Race — Grants him refuge after he enters their Great Thousand World and declares himself Song Zhong's friend. 898

- Saint breakthrough — After being humiliated and nearly killed by a Cloud Clan Saint, breaks through amid battle and becomes Rain Peak Saint. 998 999
