Background / History

Gengetsu arrives in Konoha as an Uzumaki survivor after a long journey. Inoichi confirms that his memories contain no abnormalities, while Kushina immediately treats him as family. Danzo seeks to place him in Root as a potential backup vessel for the Nine-Tails, but Hiruzen rejects the proposal 1.

Under Kushina and Minato's care, Gengetsu trains obsessively in hand seals, Chakra extraction, physical conditioning, water walking, and tree climbing. His Uzumaki constitution gives him unusually fast recovery, allowing him to sustain a severe training regimen 4. He later studies Water Release independently and begins experimenting with Wind Release Chakra Transformation before receiving formal instruction in it 6.
