Gengetsu sealed the Garuda Celestial Demon King, forged a powerful Spirit Body, and returned to the present with new insight into the Pure Land. As Akatsuki captured Gaara, Gengetsu let the rescue teams confront the organization while he watched the battle unfold.

• Gengetsu traveled into the past with Tsunade, Tobirama Senju, and Shisui Uchiha, fought Garuda’s clones, and joined Bai Qianqiu in sealing the Celestial Demon King.
• Gengetsu formed a nine-zhang-tall Spirit Body by fusing his True Spirit with his Divine Dragon Dharma Aspect, then transformed into a Divine Dragon and returned to the present.
• Gengetsu used the Yin-Yang Creation Art to create a body for Ao Cang, whose new human form resembled Gengetsu.
• Gengetsu entered the Netherworld Pure Land, learned from Hamura Otsutsuki that its growing dark power threatened the living world, and fought Evil Spirits there.
• Gengetsu considered establishing reincarnation and advised his students before Minato reported that Akatsuki had captured Gaara and killed the Fourth Kazekage.

Gengetsu helped defeat Akatsuki, transformed the Fourth Great War, and built a system of reincarnation after eradicating the Evil God. He left the completed system and Konoha’s future in trusted hands before departing for the chaotic void sea.

• Neji and Chiyo defeated Sasori while Naruto’s team survived Deidara’s self-destruction, and Gengetsu trained the Sage of Six Paths and Hamura in the Netherworld.
• Gengetsu helped Nagato reunite with Yahiko and persuaded Nagato to serve as a commander of reincarnation, while the Five Kage gathered to confront Akatsuki.
• At the Five Kage Summit, the Allied Shinobi Forces defeated the resurrected Kage and other enemies, chose Minato as commander, and Itachi awakened a blood-red Rinnegan after Gengetsu’s trial.
• During the Fourth Great War, the Five Uchiha fought Madara, Nagato turned against Madara’s plan, and Gengetsu restrained Black Zetsu so Nagato could pull Madara’s soul from his body.
