Gengetsu pursued Sage Transformation, prepared Konoha for Obito’s expected attack, and helped Minato take office as Fourth Hokage. As Kushina’s delivery approached, Gengetsu gained new powers and disputed Hiruzen’s plan for defending her.

• Gengetsu escorted Mist Ninja envoys to Konoha, helped Kushina develop Medical Talismans, and began researching Sage Transformation and Ice Release.
• Gengetsu studied Orochimaru’s research, completed the Uzumaki Invincible Yin-Yang Spirit Sealing Grand Technique with Kushina, and presented his Four Great Realms of Immortal Cultivation to Tsunade, Kushina, Minato, and Jiraiya.
• Hiruzen Sarutobi resigned as Third Hokage, Minato became Fourth Hokage, and Gengetsu warned them that Obito might attack when Kushina gave birth.
• Gengetsu improved Flying Thunder God with his Heavenly Eye, prepared marked kunai throughout Konoha, and transplanted First Hokage cells into Uchiha Shinsui, who soon achieved Sage Mode.

After the Nine-Tails attack, Gengetsu helped protect Naruto, exposed Danzo’s betrayal, and supported Minato’s reforms as the war continued. He pursued new releases and Sage Transformation while Orochimaru’s message signaled that Akatsuki was preparing to act.

• Gengetsu and Konoha’s forces fought Obito’s attacks and the Nine-Tails, while Minato and Kushina helped seal Kurama into Naruto with Gengetsu’s assistance.
• Gengetsu fought Obito, thwarted his escape, and discovered Root agents had been sent by Danzo to take his corpse.
• Gengetsu exposed Danzo’s crimes to Konoha’s leaders and shinobi, then killed Danzo when he tried to flee.
• Minato proposed abolishing Root and forming a Special Training Division, and the leaders later gained the ninja clans’ support for the plan.

Gengetsu developed the Yin-Yang Illusion World, trained his students, and built alliances while confronting Kumogakure and investigating Akatsuki. As he began a new Sage Transformation, he led a strike against the Zero-Tail, where his team faced Obito Uchiha and Sasori.

• Gengetsu discovered that Yin and Yang Release could trigger the Yin-Yang Illusion World, a powerful genjutsu that awakened a Three-Tomoe Sharingan and could trap victims in an apparently real world.
• Gengetsu trained Anko and Itachi, investigated Sharingan evolution with Fugaku Uchiha and Shisui Uchiha, and urged Kakashi to seek a way to revive Rin.
• Gengetsu defeated the Fourth Raikage, persuaded Gyūki and Killer B to ally with him, and returned to Konoha with Uchiha Shinsui and Itachi Uchiha.
• The Great Toad Sage foretold that Gengetsu would encounter someone with blue eyes and face three outsiders with the Rinnegan and Byakugan, while Gengetsu learned Kakashi’s lightning blade and surpassed it with his own version.

After testing Konoha’s trainees and investigating a threat involving Hiruko, he learned more about the Hyuga’s lunar history and rejected Shinno’s harmful research.

• Gengetsu and Kakashi defeated Zero-Tail, then Gengetsu sealed its malicious thoughts and destroyed them with natural lightning.
• Gengetsu and Tobirama developed the Lightning Light Sword, while Gengetsu advanced his Sage Transformation and awakened the Domain of the Sage.
• Tsunade and Jiraiya awakened new Heavenly Eye abilities, and Minato reformed Konoha’s Security Department with Uchiha and Hyuga leadership.
• Gengetsu examined the Special Training Division’s trainees, named Shinnosuke Sarutobi, Shin Uchiha, and Genma Shiranui the top performers, and helped Shinnosuke develop Inferno Release.
