Background / History
Yang Jian is a third-generation disciple of the Chan Sect and the Lord of Divine Law of the Heavenly Court. His status rests not only on his own strength, but on the protection and influence of the Chan Sect; he credits Yu Dingzhenren with saving his life, teaching him his abilities, and giving him the foundation to attain his present position. 127
His Heavenly Eye originated as the Heavenly Eye pendant, a treasure of the goddess Yao Ji that merged into his forehead. Before its later evolution, the Eye and the Eight Nine Arcane Art already allowed him to dominate among Grand Luo Golden Immortals and contend with Quasi-Sages. 12
Joining the Multiverse Chat Group radically changes his understanding of the Myriad Realms. Learning that Sages of his Greater World are not the ultimate peak leaves him feeling like a “frog in a well,” but also drives him to seek higher Laws and opportunities. 9
Appearance
Yang Jian appears in battle clad in silver armor and a cloak, carrying the Three-Pointed Double-Edged Blade. His silver Heavenly Eye sits at the center of his brow and emits divine light infused with Yin-Yang Law. 70 72

- Silver Heavenly Eye between his brows. 12
- Three-Pointed Double-Edged Blade as his principal weapon. 46
Personality
Yang Jian is highly conscious of strength, rank, and proper respect. He addresses Bai Yu as “Immortal Exalted” and initially reacts with profound shock when confronted with the true scale of Grand Cosmos power. 8 9
He is cautious when confronting forces above his level, recognizing that even his Heavenly Eye’s Sage-level strike was initially insufficient grounds to openly oppose a Sage. 20 Yet he is also decisive once his family or sect is involved: he resolves to split Mount Hua for Yang Chan despite the risk of provoking the Heavenly Court. 69 70
His care for Yang Chan can become controlling. He delays her rescue to teach her a lesson, then ultimately chooses to respect her freedom to make her own romantic choices. 75
