Background / History
The Jia Ma Empire was a human power in the Northwest Continent. Its royal family maintained a longstanding conflict with the Snake-People Tribe, while the Misty Cloud Sect stood as the empire's strongest sect. The royal family relied heavily on its guardian, Jia Xingtian, a peak Dou Emperor and one of the empire's publicly known foremost experts. 8 23
Jia Xingtian was killed while attempting to interfere with Medusa's evolution. Yun Yun, Gu He, and the other human experts involved in the attack were also slain. 10 The loss of Jia Xingtian devastated his great-granddaughter, Elder Princess Yao Ye, the empire's heir. 19
Seeking revenge, Yao Ye set aside the royal family's prior tensions with the Misty Cloud Sect and formed an alliance with Yun Shan, whose disciple Yun Yun had also died in the Snake-People Tribe's territory. 19 After Yun Shan advanced to Dou Zong, the alliance marched into the Tagor Desert to destroy the Snake-People Tribe. 23
The campaign ended in a decisive rout. Jiang Xing killed Yun Shan, Yao Ye, and several allied human experts, while the Snake-People Tribe pursued the defeated army. 25 Jiang Xing and the Snake-People Tribe's Great Elder subsequently killed every remaining member of the Jia Ma Royal Family and looted the Imperial Palace treasury. 26
The Snake-People Tribe did not take control of the empire, judging that humans would not accept snake-people as rulers. Two years after the royal family's destruction, the neighboring Chuyun Empire occupied the Jia Ma Empire's territory. 26 35
