Integrating the Demon Race
Shouyang Mountain, Eight Sceneries Palace.
The Taishang was refining an Eight-Revolutions Golden Elixir elixir with his eyes closed, the Samadhi True Fire burning quietly within the furnace.
Suddenly, he slowly opened his eyes, his gaze piercing through the palace walls and looking towards the North Sea.
"The Kunpeng has fallen."
The Taishang's voice was very calm, without the slightest ripple.
He raised his fingers and calculated for a moment, a look of understanding flashing in his eyes. "Lu Ya... son of Di Jun. He has already inherited seven-tenths of the True Sun Fire, and can be considered a promising talent."
Taishang shook his head and closed his eyes again.
To him, a quasi-saint was nothing more than a ripple in the Primordial Wilderness river of time.
Kunlun Mountain, Jade Void Palace.
Yuanshi was preaching the Dao to his disciples.
Suddenly, he paused, his brow furrowing slightly.
"Master?" Guangchengzi asked cautiously.
"Kunpeng was actually killed by the little golden crow."
Yuanshi snorted coldly, his tone filled with disdain. "That Kunpeng was at least a guest of the Purple Cloud Palace, an ancient great power, yet he has fallen at the hands of a junior. It's truly laughable."
He paused, then added, "That brat Lu Ya only has the backing of Dao Venerable Lin Tian. Without such an opportunity, how could he have achieved his current level of cultivation?"
Upon hearing this, none of the immortals in the hall dared to speak.
The West, Mount Ling.
While Zhunti was discussing internal sect matters with Jieyin, he suddenly sensed something, abruptly stood up, and his face was full of regret.
"Senior Brother! Kunpeng has fallen!" Zhunti's voice was filled with grief and indignation. "That was a powerful being in the late Quasi-Saint stage! If he could have been converted to Buddhism by our Western Teachings, it would have greatly increased our sect's strength!"
The Daoist Jieyin, with a sorrowful expression, shook his head. "Junior brother, that Kunpeng Karma Entanglement, the Karmic Debt of which is too heavy."
He paused, then lowered his voice even further. "Moreover, behind Lu Ya stands Dao Venerable Lin Tian."
Upon Zhunti this, Zhunti's expression changed, and he clicked his tongue in reluctance. "But it's such a pity that a late-stage Quasi-Saint has perished like this."
Suddenly, Zhunti seemed to remember something, his face paling slightly. "Senior brother, do you think Lu Ya will come after us? Back then, we..."
The Daoist Jieyin glanced at him indifferently, his prayer beads slowly turning in his hand. "He's looking for that person, what does it have to do with us? We were merely following orders back then."
Zhunti immediately clasped his hands together and said, "Amitabha, well said, well said. Senior brother is right, we are merely following the way of Heavenly Dao."
Myriad Demon Mountain, Demon God Palace.
Three days have passed since Lu Ya returned.
Over the past three days, the entire Myriad Demon Mountain has undergone a thorough overhaul.
Bai Ze stood on the Demon God Platform. Before him were countless Demon Race followers, some recruited from the Northern Darkness Palace, some Demon Race had left before, and some newly transformed Demon Race descendants who had joined him.
"From this day forward, the Demon Race race will rise again!" Bai Ze's voice echoed throughout every corner of Myriad Demon Mountain. "All my Demon Race citizens, no matter where they are or what their past is like, as long as they sincerely submit and are willing to serve the Demon Race race, their past deeds will be forgiven!"
Cheers erupted from the audience, and many of the veterans had tears in their eyes.
After the Witch-Demon Great War and the Demon King, the Demon Emperor Eastern Emperor perished, the Demon Realm was occupied by Haotian, and the Demon Race was torn apart.
Some sought refuge with various factions, while others went into hiding under assumed names.
Now that the Crown Prince has returned and slain the Kunpeng, the Demon Race finally has a leader.
"His Highness Lu Ya has returned! The Demon Race race will surely regain its glory!" an old demon shouted, raising his arm.
"Reclaim the demon realm! Revitalize the Demon Race!" The cries rose and fell.
However, Lu Ya showed no interest in these calls.
He stood in the hall, gazing into the distance.
"The glory days..."
Lu Ya said softly, his eyes showing no longing, only yearning for his family.
Bai Ze entered the hall and, seeing Lu Ya's expression, his heart tightened. "Your Highness, the people outside are in high spirits, all hoping that you will lead the Demon Race to regain its former glory. Many Demon Race have already submitted again, and there will be many more to come..."
Lu Ya turned around and shook his head. "Uncle Bai Ze, let bygones be bygones."
Bai Ze was taken aback. "Your Highness means..."
"Now the Heavenly Court reigns supreme, Haotian is the Heavenly Emperor, and the human race is thriving."
Lu Ya's voice was eerily calm, "The Demon Race has already lost the secrets of heaven. The best course of action now is to develop properly and recuperate, rather than attempting to dominate the Primordial Wilderness."
He looked at Bai Ze, his eyes clear and firm. "Besides, I have no intention of dominating the Primordial Wilderness. My only goal is to become stronger, and then settle accounts with Hongjun."
"What?!" Bai Ze's expression changed drastically. He immediately set up several soundproof barriers, his voice trembling, "Your Highness, you mustn't speak recklessly! That's the Dao Ancestor, the spokesperson for the Heavenly Dao!"
Lu Ya clenched his fists, his eyes filled with resentment. "He killed my Father King and uncle. I will avenge this sooner or later."
Bai Ze was struck dumb, staggering back two steps, staring at Lu Ya in disbelief. "The Demon Emperor and the Eastern Emperor... were they really killed by Dao Ancestor Hongjun? I always thought it was..."
Lu Ya looked at Bai Ze and continued, "The Witch-Demon Great War and Yao tribes was ostensibly a feud between the Witch Clan and Demon Race tribes, but in reality, Hongjun was behind it all. He orchestrated the Great Tribulation, what was he plotting, so..."
Bai Ze was, after all, an ancient demon god who had lived for countless years. Now that Lu Ya enlightened him, many things that he couldn't understand back then suddenly became clear.
I see... I see...
Bai Ze sighed, "But Your Highness, that is Dao Ancestor Hongjun, the representative of the Heavenly Dao... We can't defeat him, and the Demon Race race can't defeat him..."
"Just because we can't beat you now doesn't mean we'll never be able to." A murderous glint flashed in Lu Ya's eyes. "Uncle Bai Ze, that day will come. I swear, that day will come."
Bai Ze looked at Lu Ya in front of him, the child he had watched grow up, who was now stronger than him.
"Your Highness has truly grown so much," Bai Ze murmured, tears welling in his eyes. "It's a pity... the Demon Emperor and Demon Queen won't be able to see this..."
Lu Ya stepped forward and gently patted Bai Ze's shoulder. "Uncle Bai Ze, you've worked hard all these years. From now on, we'll shoulder the burdens of the Demon Race together."
Bai Ze nodded emphatically, wiping away the tears from the corners of his eyes. "This old minister obeys. But Your Highness, you just said that the Demon Race should not plot to dominate, so what should we do now?"
Lu Ya pondered for a moment, his eyes resolute, and said, "We need reform, otherwise the Demon Race will never be able to achieve better development."
"Reform?"
"Right."
