Background / History
Di Jun and his brother Taiyi were born from the Sun Star. As leaders of the Demon Court, they resented Hongjun's appointment of the comparatively weak Dong Wang Gong as Head of Male Immortals and began planning for the Demon Court's future position in the Great Desolation. Di Jun had stabilized his late-stage Grand Unity Golden Immortal cultivation when he first noticed a powerful attraction toward the Moon Star. 186 188
Following Bai Ze's counsel, Di Jun concluded that Hongjun would not protect Dong Wang Gong despite his title. He attacked and annexed the Immortal Court, surviving Dong Wang Gong's self-destruction and consolidating Demon Court power. 228 236 He later used the River Diagram and Luo Script to calculate heavenly secrets and established the Demon Race; the Heavenly Dao granted merit to the new race, with Di Jun and Taiyi receiving thirty percent each. 244
His pursuit of power repeatedly brought him into conflict with Lin Tian and the Witch Clan. After a failed attempt to destroy the Witch Clan, Di Jun's cultivation fell by a minor realm. Hongjun then offered a Heavenly Marriage as a means to regain merit and strength. 247 251
Personality
Di Jun was intensely ambitious and prideful, viewing Demon Race dominance, Great Desolation destiny, and eventual Sainthood as intertwined goals. He was willing to annex the Immortal Court, accelerate the conquest of the myriad races under a “surrender or die” policy, and join Taiyi and Kunpeng in pursuing Hongyun's Primordial Chaos Purple Qi. 228 236 263 273
His pride made him highly vulnerable to humiliation. Lin Tian's repeated interference—particularly regarding the Moon Star—fed a lasting hatred that Di Jun refused to set aside even when Taiyi suggested seeking Lin Tian's guidance. 252 256 273 He also made rash strategic decisions when his dignity was challenged, including ordering war against the Witch Clan after being offended at Lin Tian's residence. 331 333
Despite his ruthlessness, Di Jun was deeply attached to his family. He healed Qin Yuan with his remaining spiritual power after she was injured protecting him, sought to avenge his sons after nine Golden Crows died, and tried to send Taiyi away rather than let him face Hongjun. 315 355 360
Abilities & Skills
Saintly Power
After proving the Dao, Di Jun possessed the authority of a Heavenly Dao Saint.
- His ascension created a Saintly pressure that compelled beings throughout the Great Desolation to prostrate themselves. 327
- He could directly calculate the whereabouts of the Ten Golden Crows without relying on his innate treasures. 327

- Hongjun could strip this power by extracting the Primordial Chaos Purple Qi from his Nascent Soul. 360
Heavenly Secret Deduction
Di Jun was a skilled diviner who used his innate treasures to calculate heavenly secrets.
- The River Diagram and Luo Script are described as foremost deduction treasures in the Great Desolation. 244

- He concluded that a union of Sun and Moon origins was his best path toward further cultivation. 256

- He manifested True Sun Fire defensively and offensively in confrontations with Saints. 329 354

Story Role / Major Arcs
Rise of the Demon Court
Di Jun joined Taiyi in opposing the status quo established by Hongjun's appointments. Influenced by Bai Ze, he attacked the Immortal Court, defeated Dong Wang Gong, and absorbed its surviving immortals into the Demon Court. 186 228 236
He subsequently established the Demon Race, gaining Heavenly Dao merit and greatly expanding the Demon Court's influence. 244
Conflict with the Witch Clan
Di Jun sought to eliminate the Witch Clan to seize Great Desolation destiny and attain Sainthood. His Primordial Luo River Formation gave the Demon Race an advantage, but Lin Tian intervened and stopped Di Jun and Taiyi, costing Di Jun a minor realm of cultivation. 247 251
After later becoming a Saint, Di Jun again ordered a war against the Witch Clan, driven in part by resentment over perceived insults to the Demon Race. 331 333
Heavenly Marriage
Believing the Sun Star and Moon Star to be destined counterparts, Di Jun pursued Xi He and Chang Xi. After their rejection and Lin Tian's interference, he abandoned that plan and chose Qin Yuan as his Dao Companion. 253 255 258
His marriage to Qin Yuan established a Heavenly Dao rule concerning marriage and yin-yang harmony. The resulting merit advanced him to late Quasi-Saint and empowered the Demon Race. 260
Pursuit of Sainthood
Di Jun participated in the siege of Hongyun for the latter's Primordial Chaos Purple Qi, but Hongyun self-destructed and scattered it. Di Jun's failure to obtain the Qi became a lasting obsession. 263 273
After Zhen Yuanzi defeated him and severely injured Qin Yuan, Hongjun summoned Di Jun to Purple Heaven Palace. Hongjun gave him Primordial Chaos Purple Qi and personally guided his cultivation, requiring him to uphold Heavenly Dao order and counterbalance Lin Tian's influence. 315 318 326
Sainthood and Fall
Di Jun proved the Dao and became a Heavenly Dao Saint, but immediately recognized that the Heavenly Dao had taken control of a portion of his Nascent Soul. 327 The loss of nine Golden Crow sons eventually exposed Hongjun's manipulation: Di Jun learned that Hongjun had used the tragedy to trigger a Calamity. 354 359
Rejecting his role as Hongjun's pawn, Di Jun confronted Hongjun and renounced the Saint position. Taiyi came to his aid, but Hongjun killed Taiyi, stripped Di Jun's Primordial Chaos Purple Qi, and completely annihilated Di Jun before he could self-destruct. 359 360
