Background

Raiden Mei was born the eldest daughter of the Raiden family in Changkong City. Her mother died when Mei was young, while her father, ME Corp president Raiden Ryoma, was later accused of financial fraud, removed from office, and imprisoned. The collapse of her family exposed the insincerity of her former friends, who abandoned and bullied her. 95 110

At Senba Academy, Mei had once been known as the “Raiden Queen,” admired for her family background, appearance, education, conduct, and accomplishments. After her father's downfall, isolation failed to protect her from escalating harassment. 110

During one such incident, Ye Li rescued Mei from a restroom cubicle. His reassurance became a turning point for the frightened and isolated Mei, who later came to rely on him for protection. Kiana subsequently joined them, and Mei gradually accepted her as a close friend despite initial insecurity over Ye Li and Kiana's closeness. 111 112

Mei's awakening as a Herrscher caused the Third Honkai in Changkong City. She viewed the disaster as proof of her past weakness and carried the event as a personal burden. 95

Mei is gentle, attentive, and protective. She comforts Kong, cooks for the children aboard the Helios, and risks herself to shield Kong from Cocolia despite being too weakened to win the fight. 96 97

Her kindness exists alongside deep resolve. Mei refuses to abandon Kiana after learning of her Honkai erosion, declaring that she will pay any price to save her.
