Boundary Marker North of Bulwark Village
Roy and Instructor Nora took half a day off before leaving the hotel.
Just then, I saw Sabrina standing at the hotel entrance, wearing a white linen dress, looking around.
Instructor Virgil stood beside Sabrina, pointing out the places to visit around Bulwark Village. As Roy passed by the two, he overheard Instructor Virgil telling Sabrina about the clear stream at the bottom of the valley in Bulwark Village.
The elves diverted a canal from upstream of the stream to ensure that the village had a constant supply of running water.
The scenery of the valley stream is quite beautiful, but whenever it rains, the Stream Valley gets flooded...
Roy waved politely to the two of them.
Sabrina's eyes lit up when she saw Roy come out of the hotel. She immediately took Roy's arm and said apologetically to Instructor Virgil, "I'm sorry, Instructor Virgil, Roy and I were supposed to go to the market..."
"..."
Roy was speechless and could only give Instructor Virgil a silly smile.
Instructor Virgil was somewhat helpless. He couldn't lose his temper in this situation, so he could only maintain a stiff smile and say to Roy and Sabrina, "The market is also very lively."
Then, I watched them leave.
Sabrina pulled Roy along quickly for a while before saying to Roy, "Hey, do you know how awful your smile was just now?"
Roy looked around, searching for the Adventurers Guild's headquarters, and said, "I was trying to appear more natural. Was my expression unnatural just now?"
Sabrina followed behind Roy, laughing and complaining, "It's so awkward!"
"..."
Roy wandered around the small market in the Bulwark Village again, greeted the caravan, and searched for a long time before finally finding the small house next to a trading company not far from the market. Roy did not expect that this was the headquarters of the Adventurers Guild.
They simply rented a room in the business, with an inconspicuous sign hanging at the entrance.
I knocked on the door, but no one answered.
Gently push open the door, and you'll find it unlocked. There's no counter inside. The walls are lined with bookshelves, and in the center of the room is a chair. An Old Elf lies on the chair, the book in his hand has fallen to the ground, and he looks like he's asleep.
"Hello, is this the Adventurers Guild?" Roy asked cautiously, standing at the door.
"Oh? Oh!... Oh, this is it. Is there anything I can help you with? There are some adventurers in the village, but they don't come here often, so you wanted to post some recruitment information on the notice board. It might take a while to find suitable candidates, so if you can wait..."
The Old Elf rubbed his nose, pointed behind the door, and said to Roy, "The notice board is over there; you can post recruitment information anywhere."
"I'm here to look for some information. I want to know where I can find the Light Flower in Bulwark Village," Roy said, standing in front of the Old Elf.
The Old Elf sat up, looking at Roy with some confusion, and said, "Those Magic Herbs are basically useless. They're more like ornamental plants than potions. What do you want with them?"
"I just like them and want to buy two, or if there are any available, I can go find them myself..." Roy said.
"Are you a member of the Adventurers Guild?" the Old Elf hesitated for a moment before asking Roy.
Roy took out the member's nameplate, and the Old Elf carefully examined it before standing up. As he walked toward the bookshelf, he said to Roy, "You've come to the right place. I do have information about the Light Flower here. This thing has been neglected for a long time, so it's been gathering dust at the bottom of the bookshelf."
The Old Elf squatted in front of the bookshelf and pulled out a stack of documents from the bottom, which were indeed covered in dust.
"It's probably right here."
After he finished speaking, he handed the stack of documents to Roy, which immediately kicked up a cloud of dust.
"Find a place to sit down and look through it yourself. You can't take these documents with you. Where did you come from, Adventure Group?"
Castleton City.
"Ah! That beautiful port city, I've been there before. I hope you'll find something worthwhile in Bulwark Village."
There weren't any extra chairs in the room, so Roy pulled two cushions out of his Magic Pouch, laid them out in the corner of the room, and then sat down on the floor with Sabrina.
Sabrina bent her legs and sat on the mat, carefully examining each document. These documents were information recorded here by the Adventurers Guild, and any member of the Adventurers Guild could access them for free. Of course, this was all ordinary information, requiring only a little time and patience.
Two people can search for information much faster than one person, and they quickly found two pieces of information about the Light Flower.
"It says here that elven hunters have seen the Light Flower atop the fortress, growing near the Griffon Nests..."
Sabrina saw a message and whispered.
Roy quickly put down the documents in his hand and leaned closer.
The Old Elf, who was lying in the chair, opened his eyes at that moment.
"Young man, do not approach those griffins lightly. The higher they go, the stronger they become. Regardless of whether this news is true or false, its danger alone is not worth the risk," the Old Elf interjected, reclining in his chair.
Roy understood the hidden meaning in the Old Elf's words. This message was not only likely to be false, but also extremely dangerous. The Light Flower, a magical herb with little value, was not worth searching for in such a dangerous place.
Roy quickly asked the Old Elf, "What kind of information can be entered into the club's database?"
"Actually, any information is fine, as long as you can provide evidence. For example, if you tell us you found a pack of dire wolves in a certain jungle, as long as you can show me a dire wolf's head, I can record this information in my file, and it will also include the time and the name of the Adventure Group." The Old Elf pointed to the annotation at the end of the information and said, "Look, it's usually marked here!"
"We're recording these messages so that we can provide some hints to the Adventure Group that follow..." the Old Elf added.
After a while, Sabrina was heard saying again:
"There is also a record about the Light Flower. An elf hunter saw some Light Flower at the end of the Valley River Stream. He transplanted some of these Light Flower Light Flower, but not many survived."
Roy's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly said, "The end of the Stream Valley? This valley doesn't seem very long. If we have the chance, we can try our luck there."
The two searched the Adventurers Guild for a while longer, but unfortunately, after going through the entire stack of documents, they still couldn't find any other information about the Light Flower.
During this time, some more adventurers came to the guild, and it seemed that everyone was there to look up information.
An elf noticed Roy and Sabrina sitting in the corner and came over to ask them if they had Adventure Group, and if not, they could join their Adventure Group.
After receiving Roy's affirmative answer, the elves stopped asking questions.
The elves casually flipped through documents on the bookshelves, and someone was posting messages on the notice board behind the door.
The room wasn't very big, and with several elves squeezing in, it immediately felt a bit crowded.
They seemed to know each other, and one of the elves asked, "How's the harvest lately? I feel like those griffins are getting more and more cunning. There are several traps of ours that haven't been visited by any griffins in the past month."
"The situation here isn't good either. We've caught two this month, and before they died, their fur was almost completely worn down..."
Roy didn't listen to the elves' conversation; after reviewing the information, he left the Adventurers Guild.
Once outside, Roy looked at the sky and said to Sabrina, "I've been busy with my own things all morning. Where are you going? Can I help you?"
"No, I just wanted to wander around Bulwark Village. It's a very clean place where Half-Elf gather, and it looks quite nice," Sabrina said to Roy as they walked down the street.
At this moment, some of the Half-Elf in the village ran down into the valley, as if something had happened there.
Roy and Sabrina had nothing else to do, so they ran down the valley with the Half-Elf.
The Half-Elf stood on the bank of the stream, their gazes all fixed on the opposite bank. That side was the shady side of a valley, with almost no treehouses built on the opposite slope. Right there on the other side of the Stream Valley, a group of Silver Moon Elf Warrior were erecting a Boundary Marker. The Boundary Marker clearly stated: 'The land north of this Boundary Marker, extending Padesto City, belongs entirely to Lord Alvis. Any elf entering Lord Alvis's territory must pay taxes, including but not limited to Transit Tax and Goods Value-Added Tax. Without a value-added tax invoice, any goods carried will be considered as acquired within Lord Alvis's territory, and these goods will be subject to Ownership Tax.'
Upon seeing the Boundary Marker, the Half-Elf in the Bulwark Village erupted in uproar.
A simple boundary Boundary Marker completely stripped away a large area of hunting grounds in the forest north of Bulwark Village, turning all of this woodland into the private property of the Elven Nobles.
"How could they do this? What right do they have to do this? Did they carve out this land themselves?"
"The land north of the Bulwark Village was gradually incorporated into our territory after we built the Bulwark Village. How can they just take it away like that?"
A group of Half-Elf people were discussing among themselves by the Stream Valley, all of them looking incredulous.
"I heard about this from the brothers from the northern village yesterday. I thought they were joking. I never expected that this kind of thing, where someone tries to seize the woodland, would happen to us today!"
"This Boundary Marker cannot be erected here without our permission. Move it away immediately!"
A Half-Elf stepped out from among a group of elves and shouted at the Silver Moon Elf Warrior.
The Elf Warrior completely ignored the protests of the Half-Elf and continued burying the Boundary Marker.
