Business
Roy and Woods arrived at the port together.
There were many goods on the dock next to the Great Sea Ship, and even some samples were placed on Wooden Box.
Many Half-Elf crowded around the stalls, picking out handicrafts. The elves seemed very interested in these handicrafts that only existed in human kingdoms. Of course, there were other goods as well, but none were as popular as the handicrafts.
For example, candlesticks made from statues of maidens, tabletop ornaments carved into Royal Eagle Lion, and sets of armored knight chess pieces, etc.
Roy had no artistic talent whatsoever; he had no interest in such things.
I did find the kitchen utensils on display at the stall quite nice, such as the flat pan for making pancakes, the hanging pot for cooking meat broth, and the bottles and jars of seasonings.
He'd almost forgotten what steak tasted like...
On a Wooden Box, he actually saw a large, round, milky-white flatbread that emitted a faint milky smell; it was actually a large piece of cheese.
The human crew members in front of the stall greeted Roy warmly, but they spoke in Imperial Language, Roy Roy couldn't understand at all, so he could only respond with polite smiles.
Another problem is that the elves only have Kole, and not everyone can produce Magic Crystal Stone.
However, the human crew members did not seem to want to trade these goods for Kole.
This is probably why there are many elves watching, but very few deals are actually made...
Roy was also standing in the crowd, and the elves were all talking about the merchant ship.
I heard that these people came here to buy Magic Herbs.
The merchants on the ship had negotiated with the merchant group from Castleton City many times. Almost all the magic Potion Shop in the city sold them their stock of Magic Herbs. Large quantities of goods were delivered to the ship every day, and all transactions were settled in Magic Crystal Stone.
Upon hearing this news, Roy's eyes gradually lit up.
The ship's manager, Andre, was not the captain, but he was in charge of all commercial affairs on board.
Over the past week, Andre has emptied all the magic Potion Shop in Castleton City.
He had his crew move the goods from the ship to the dock, because he had discovered that even ordinary elves in Castleton City lived very comfortably.
He wanted to sell all the goods he brought, including magical weapons and armor.
The elves, however, were somewhat dismissive of the magical weapons and armor, finding them lacking intricate carvings and openwork designs. The handicrafts, on the other hand, were acceptable; while lacking artistry and aesthetic appeal, some of their interesting creative ideas were quite popular with the elves.
In fact, Andre was also reflecting on his trip to the Elf Continent. He had actually dared to try to sell these weapons, shields, and armor to the elves.
In fact, in his opinion, the armor worn by the Elven Guard at the port and docks was a work of art. Andre even felt that if he purchased a batch of magical weapons and Magic Inscription Construct from the Elven Kingdom, he would be very popular when he returned to the Grimm Empire.
The Magic Crystal Stone I brought are needed for purchasing Magic Herbs, and there's no way I can compromise on that.
In fact, during the first two days after arriving in Castleton City, the Great Sea Ship was restricted to the port. The elves not only refused to trade with human caravans, but also refused to allow the crew members to disembark.
Fortunately, Andre brought a lot of Magic Pattern Cloth with him this time. It was with this that he managed to get permission to trade in Castleton City by knocking on the doors of several high Elven Nobles.
The elves here have a very bad impression of humans.
Although humans and elves have always been allies, the elves here are very hostile towards humans.
Andre knew in his heart that the biggest reason was the maritime slave trade.
Imperial nobles always liked to keep a few Elf Slaves in their manors. This had become a new trend in the Grimm Empire, as if a family without an Elf Slaves could not be considered a noble or wealthy family.
It was this trend that led to the rapid development of the maritime slave trade. Many Adventure Group and merchant groups formed fleets and went to the Elven Kingdom to buy and sell slaves. Not only elves, but also Naga Sea Clan, dwarves, lizardmen and so on. Some nobles with more extreme tastes would even buy demi-humans, such as werewolves, kobolds, fishmen and so on.
Fortunately, this time we were very well prepared and brought a variety of goods, so at least we had something to please the high Elven Nobles.
The goods displayed on the docks now are almost all things that Elven Nobles look down on, but it seems that ordinary elves like them quite a bit...
Andre began to consider...
How can I successfully trade with these elves?
Roy had noticed a human merchant in a silk robe earlier. He looked plump and fair-skinned, with meticulously groomed hair and beard, and seemed like someone who could make decisions.
He squeezed through the crowd and tried to get closer to the human merchant, and no one stopped him along the way.
Woods followed behind Roy, keeping a wary eye on their surroundings.
He heard about human slave ships from Miss Tiffany, Sabrina, and Moira, so he was inherently repulsed by them...
Roy approached Andre and tentatively asked in Elven Language:
Do you want to buy Magic Herbs?
Andre could only understand a few Elven Language, including the word ' Magic Herbs '.
He turned and waved behind him, and a crew member who understood Elven Language quickly came over, indicating that Roy could speak to him if he had anything to say.
Roy asked again, and the crew member translated Roy's words to Andre.
Andre nodded quickly and said a string of words:
"Of course, take as much as you can, preferably Silverleaf Grass, Kudzu Root, Royal Blood Grass and Golden Thorn Grass."
Although communication is somewhat inconvenient, with crew members translating, at least we can understand what the other person is saying.
Woods muttered to Roy behind his back, "They want to buy the Magic Herbs that can be used to make Life Potion..."
Roy didn't care at all.
It's none of his business what potions this human merchant uses these Magic Herbs to concoct.
"Should we take a look at the goods first?" Roy felt it was necessary to show them the Magic Herbs.
When Andre heard the crew's translation, his eyes lit up, because he could at least see Roy's sincerity. So he quickly extended an invitation. "Of course, please come on board and have a seat. Try our Roland Continent's specialty black tea. I can bring out the purchase price list, and we can sit down and talk slowly."
Roy was still very reluctant to accept the invitation to board the ship.
"Let's talk here."
Roy pointed to the dock.
Andre didn't care about any of that. He turned to a crew member on the ship and shouted, "Hey you, go and get that price list I left in the captain's cabin."
"Yes, sir."
The crew members who were watching the commotion from the ship's side responded loudly.
Before long, the sailor handed Andre a booklet filled with Elven.
Andre unfolded the price list, which clearly marked the prices of Magic Herbs such as Silverleaf Grass, Calming Flower, and Magic Emperor Grass, which were twice as high as the purchase price that the magical Potion Shop offered to Roy.
As expected, the purchase price here is higher.
Roy glanced at the items and found the prices satisfactory, so he said to Andre, "Come with me, I'll show you my Magic Herbs, they're on the ship on the west side of the dock."
"My name is Andre, not yours."
Andre introduced himself in a very broken Elven Language.
Roy simply replied, "Roy."
Andre stared at this 'human' who couldn't understand a single word of Imperial Language, and asked a crew member beside him to translate, "Excuse me, are you human?"
"I Half-Elf. My mother is an elf, and I have lived in the Castleton City since I was a child," Roy said.
Andre immediately ended the conversation.
He and the Elven Language crew member then followed Roy out of the port and onto the western beach. Andre saw the Great Sea Ship Great Sea Ship covered in vines and was deeply impressed by it.
He had initially thought that what was placed here was a giant ship-shaped Stone Sculpture, only covered with vines, but now it looked like a real Five-Masted Sailing Ship.
Moreover, the Half-Elf boy had the ingenuity to open a door at the bottom of the ship, through which everyone entered the Bottom Cabin cabin and then climbed three flights of stairs to reach the deck of the Great Sea Ship.
On the deck near the Ship Building, there were more than a dozen Wooden Box piled up, along with a lot of Magic Herbs. Three elven girls were chatting and laughing as they packed the Magic Herbs into the Wooden Box. Occasionally, some dried leaves would break off and fall to their feet.
Andre walked up to the Wooden Box, grabbed a handful of Silverleaf Grass from one of Wooden Box, and found a lot of Royal Blood Grass in another Wooden Box.
"These goods are of good quality, is this all there is?" Andre asked.
"Well, there are still some, but we haven't sorted them out yet..." Roy pointed to the cabin under the nail plate, and then led them down the stairs to the Bottom Cabin, which was filled with Magic Herbs.
Roy opened the hatch, Andre saw bundles of Magic Herbs piled up in the Bottom Cabin, filling the entire ship.
These Magic Herbs were bundled together, no wonder they had to pick them out on the deck. Seeing so many Magic Herbs, and remembering the three elven girls on the deck, Andre wondered how long it would take them to sort out all these Magic Herbs.
The thought of the transaction seemed like it was a long way off, so Andre said to Roy, "If you don't have enough manpower, you can leave the sorting of the Magic Herbs to us."
"That would be perfect..."
Roy was willing to accept the other party's offer to help with this.
In fact, Andre was also very happy. If he sent people to sort the goods, at least he wouldn't have to worry about any being mixed in...
Andre suddenly realized that this was probably the largest Magic Herbs transaction he had made since arriving on the Elf Continent, and he quickly asked with a serious expression, "These are all some Elementary Magic Herbs. I wonder how much you would like to sell them for?"
Seeing that Roy didn't speak, Andre continued to explain, "We can trade with Magic Crystal Stone, or we can barter. We've brought a lot of goods. As long as you like them and agree to our quoted prices, we can exchange them!"
