Background

Tang Wulin began as a Level 17 Control System Battle Soul Master at Eastsea Academy. Though his Martial Soul was Blue Silver Grass, he possessed exceptional physical strength and the Golden Dragon King Bloodline. During his first recorded duel with Bai Xu, he compensated for Bai Xu’s speed by relying on the instincts he developed through forging; his Entanglement briefly caught Bai Xu, but he was ultimately defeated by Bai Xu’s Golden Sword. 5

He was raised by Tang Ziran and Lang Yue, whom he later learned were not his biological parents. After more than a decade apart, he reunited with them and discovered that Na’er and Bai Xu had rescued them from the Evil Soul Masters who imprisoned them. 116 122

Tang Wulin later learns that “Old Tang,” the presence that had guided and protected him throughout his life, is a fragment of his biological father Tang San’s divine consciousness. Tang San reveals that Tang Wulin carries the sealed Golden Dragon King power and warns him that Bai Xu may be a Demon from Beyond the Heavens. 122

Tang Wulin is compassionate and principled. In the Spirit Ascension Platform, he refuses to seize all of the spiritual energy from defeated Soul Beasts while Bai Xu and the Ice Staff Youth are exhausted, honoring the earlier agreement to share it. 8

He is deeply loyal to Shrek Academy and regards it as his home. This devotion drives him to risk his life in competition to defend its honor, despite Old Tang’s warning that the battle was not worth dying for. 59

During the Spirit Ascension Platform riot, Tang Wulin’s team defeats a Man Faced Demon Spider through coordinated teamwork. When Bai Xu and the Ice Staff Youth are exhausted, Tang Wulin supports sharing the spiritual energy from the slain Soul Beasts rather than exploiting their vulnerability. 7 8

Shrek Academy Rivalry

At Shrek Academy, Tang Wulin becomes class monitor and repeatedly measures himself against Bai Xu. Although Bai Xu consistently overwhelms him in individual contests, Tang Wulin continues cultivating with the aim of surpassing him. 26 33 46

In the first-year class-selection final, Tang Wulin leads his team against Bai Xu. He uses Golden Dragon King techniques, reverse-flowing Bloodline Power, and coordinated team tactics, but Bai Xu defeats him after an endurance battle. 33 34
