Identity

Gu Yue is the Silver Dragon King and the leader recognized by the soul beasts. Her responsibility to secure a future for soul beasts repeatedly conflicts with her ties to human society and to Bai Xu. Bai Xu identifies her as the Silver Dragon King while pressing her to choose whether to cooperate with him. 13

Na'er is connected to Gu Yue by origin. The two eventually merge perfectly into Gu Yue Na, a shared fused identity; Gu Yue argues that forcibly separating them after this merger could erase one personality's existence. 41 74 Even after the fusion, Gu Yue and Na'er remain distinct personalities capable of discussing their shared future within their Spirit Sea. 101 102

Background

Gu Yue is introduced as the personal disciple of Heavenly Phoenix Douluo Leng Yaozhu. Her Elementalist Martial Soul and exceptionally high spiritual power establish her as a prodigy from the outset. She initially expects to defeat Bai Xu easily in their arranged match, but his Mental Attack causes her lingering pain and forces her to concede. 3 6

During Eastsea Academy's break, Leng Yaozhu places Gu Yue under Leng Jiuming's temporary guidance. While accompanying Leng Jiuming and Bai Xu on an Evil Soul Master investigation, she becomes increasingly suspicious of Bai Xu's unusual abilities, particularly his Mental Attacks and multi-element control. 8 10 11

After signing a Soul Contract with Bai Xu, Gu Yue learns his claim that Tang Wulin is Tang San's son. The revelation destabilizes her long-held plans for the soul beasts and leads her into an uneasy cooperation with Bai Xu. She begins reconsidering her own position as the Silver Dragon King rather than simply following instinct or inherited plans. 12 13 19

Gu Yue enrolls at Shrek Academy alongside Bai Xu. Although she reunites with Tang Wulin, Xie Xie, and Xu Xiaoyan, she maintains greater emotional distance than before and openly introduces Bai Xu as her partner. 21 23 Her relationship with Bai Xu deepens through cultivation, combat, and shared work, while her connection to Tang Wulin becomes increasingly complicated. 34 37

Appearance

Gu Yue's ordinary human appearance is only sparsely described. Her eyes are described as purple during her confrontation with Bai Xu, and they can emit multicolored light while she examines elemental phenomena. 13

She deliberately attempts to view situations from an outsider's perspective, maintaining distance from others without entirely abandoning friendship. 13 This maturity later becomes evident when she leaves Shrek to pursue her own ambitions, explaining that everyone has different goals. 73

Despite her strategic thinking, Gu Yue remains emotionally conflicted.
