Background / History

Guo Ming first encountered Chu Danqing while injured and stranded amid the snow near South Mountain. Though initially cautious about Chu's identity, he recognized the Lu Clan's history and treated Chu with respect. His knowledge of the Chang Gui, the Zhanji Tiger, and the hunter Liu Wu helped the group understand their enemy. He later explained that eliminating the Chang Gui would deprive the Zhanji Tiger of roughly thirty to forty percent of its strength, while his curse-making was crucial to their victory against it. 46 47 49 52

At the time, Guo Ming had not yet entered the Dao and lacked magical power. He had nowhere safe to go alone, as the wilderness and disaster-stricken settlements both posed threats. Chu Danqing used the Lu Clan's connections to contact the Guo family, then later summoned Guo Ming through the Blood Oath Covenant and paid for Paradise to treat his congenital deficiencies. Guo Ming comes from a powerful, resource-rich family with deep cultivation knowledge. His elder brother Guo Yin was intended to become the family's public head, while Guo Ming initially planned to serve as a family elder focused on protecting the clan rather than managing its affairs.
