Time flowed like fine sand, slipping away unnoticed.
In the blink of an eye, half a month had passed since Chaya and Selyne began Korin's training.
Under Korin's guidance, both Chaya and Selyne improved at an astonishing pace. They constantly made up for the deficiencies in their foundations, came to understand the meaning of Ki, and learned how to control the Ki within their bodies.
After half a month, the two of them could already conceal their auras, no longer as aggressively conspicuous as when they had first arrived on Earth. Then, on the sixteenth day, Chaya, having learned to use Ki with precision, was the first to snatch the water bottle from Korin. On the nineteenth day, Selyne also seized the water bottle.
With that, Korin's training came to an end.
"Hmm, the speed of your progress has truly exceeded my expectations. It's incredible that you reached the goal of this stage of training in just a few days. Oh, you can take off your weighted clothes now. Let me see your full strength!"
After the training ended, Korin waddled over with his plump body.
"No problem!" Chaya answered readily, then swiftly removed his weighted clothes.
Once the weighted clothes came off, the strange gravity field covering his entire body vanished as well. Suddenly freed from those shackles, the power that had been suppressed within him began to stir restlessly.
"Crack! Crack!"
A series of crisp sounds, like popping beans, rang out from Chaya's body.
"Hiss!"
Surging power suddenly erupted, as though it had found an outlet, pouring forth in a wild flood. At that moment, an overwhelming aura rapidly swept through the entire Sacred Temple with Chaya at its center. The tranquil sky seemed as though a bomb had been dropped into it, immediately churning with wind and clouds, while the Sacred Temple began to tremble slightly.
Feeling the immense energy filling every cell in his body, Chaya burst into hearty laughter, a satisfied and cheerful smile appearing on his face.
Then his expression hardened, and the rolling waves of Ki intensified once more.
In an instant, that aura became tangible. A howling gale swept forth, descending with incomparable pressure like Mount Tai. Korin, standing not far from Chaya, naturally bore the brunt of it. Faced with the pressure so close at hand, his expression stiffened, his whole body turned cold, and even the blood in his veins seemed to freeze in an instant.
"Enough, enough! Quickly... quickly restrain your aura!"
Leaning on his cane, Korin held one hand before his forehead against the fierce wind blowing at him as he shouted loudly.
In just twenty short days, Chaya's battle power had soared once again. Compared to when he first arrived on Earth, it had risen by a considerable amount—roughly estimated, it had probably exceeded 3,000.
Because he had started cultivating from scratch, Chaya could clearly feel that his foundation had become increasingly solid.
Although he had been powerful before, from his present perspective, Chaya suddenly had a strange realization. He discovered that his former strength had been an unreal illusion, like a massive sponge. It looked enormous on the surface, but with even a slight squeeze, one would find that it did not actually take up much space.
That kind of strength was hollow. Against the weak, it was fine—he would still stand high above them as a powerful warrior. But against a truly strong opponent, it would be like a balloon, deflating at the slightest poke.
They were both ways of wielding power, but now Chaya felt grounded. It was a wonderful feeling. He was advancing steadily, taking another solid step on the path of the strong.
"Chaya, tell me honestly—how many warriors like you are there in the universe?"
Watching Chaya and Selyne's unbelievable talent for cultivation, Korin suddenly asked curiously.
"Warriors like me?"
Chaya paused, then answered truthfully, "To be honest, strength like mine doesn't even rank in the universe."
"Selyne and I come from a planet called Planet Vegeta, where a warrior race known as the Saiyans lives. Selyne and I are merely underage Mid-Class Warriors among the Saiyans. There are at least a hundred or two hundred thousand Saiyans stronger than us. Though Saiyans are called a warrior race, our influence in the universe can only be considered upper-middle tier. We can't compare to those cosmic overlords who destroy worlds at a whim!"
The speaker meant nothing by it, but the listener took it to heart. Korin could not help drawing in a sharp breath, his eyes filled with horror.
Strength like Chaya's did not even rank within his own race.
But on second thought, it made sense. They were only children by their build, so naturally they could not compare to adults.
Yet that only troubled Korin even more. A child of some cosmic race was already so much stronger than Earth's Kami, and from what Chaya had said, the Saiyan race was merely upper-middle tier in the universe?
Just how many powerful civilized races existed in this universe?
At that moment, the vastness and power of the universe left Korin speechless, casting a deep shadow over his heart.
If the beings of the universe were truly as Chaya described, then Earth was in far too much danger.
As if he had seen through Korin's concerns, Chaya smiled. "But you don't need to worry too much. Earth is just a forgotten low-level planet. Generally speaking, aliens won't come here."
Korin could only look helpless. Earth being called a low-level planet, and being beneath everyone's notice being good news—it was truly absurd.
What irony!
