Background / History

Kaguya created Hagoromo and his brother Hamura with half of her chakra. Gamamaru later befriended Hagoromo and taught him Sage Mode. The brothers joined forces to seal Kaguya with Chibaku Tensei; the resulting sphere became the moon 133 175.

Hagoromo sealed the Divine Tree’s husk and divided its chakra into nine parts, creating the Nine Tailed Beasts. He placed them in separate locations and told them that humans and Tailed Beasts would one day understand one another. He then shared his chakra with his followers, who passed it on to others. Later generations named him the Sage of Six Paths for his contribution to the ninja world 73 133.

Hagoromo chose his son Asura as his successor over his other son, Indra. Indra’s descendants became the Uchiha clan, while Asura’s became the Senju clan 243 246.

• Learned to absorb natural energy under Gamamaru’s guidance at Mount Myōboku 133.
