Background

Naruto is the son of Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki. During the Nine-Tails attack, Minato split Kurama and sealed one half within Naruto, making him Konoha’s Nine-Tails Jinchūriki. 4 237 241

Raised believing himself an orphan, Naruto grew up isolated and was treated by villagers as the “Demon Fox.” His poor chakra control was not a lack of effort: the seal’s configuration disrupted his chakra flow, causing his basic Clone Technique to fail. Mizuki exploited this weakness by promising him graduation in exchange for the Scroll of Seals. 5 217

Kitahara Kaede repairs Naruto’s chakra system and later helps him learn the Uzumaki Clan’s Adamantine Sealing Chains. Naruto is placed on Kakashi Hatake’s team alongside Sasuke Uchiha and Kaede, a placement Naruto welcomes because of his trust in Kaede. 6 7
