Background / History

Raised as the Gojo Family's Six Eyes Divine Child, Gojo was guarded closely enough that two Grade 1 sorcerers prioritized escorting him from a Special Grade threat. Even then, he was more curious about Mahoraga than frightened by it; he recognized it as the Ten Shadows Technique's historically untamed strongest Shikigami. 2 3

After encountering Eiji Zenin, Gojo requested the Gojo Family's dossier on him and began visiting Eiji's residence regularly. The two developed a rapport before enrolling at Jujutsu High. 5 6

At Jujutsu High, Gojo immediately challenged his classmates to test themselves against him. Eiji, Geto, Shoko, and Medea eventually defeated him by exploiting his lack of information: Medea stabbed him with Rule Breaker, forcibly dispelling Limitless. Gojo treated the loss lightly, having long accepted that inherited techniques were easily researched and countered. 54 57

During the Star Plasma Vessel escort mission, Toji Fushiguro ambushed Gojo with the Inverted Spear of Heaven, interrupted Limitless, and left him dying. Emiya healed his immediate injuries, but Gojo's own awakening came when he mastered Reverse Cursed Technique and returned to confront Toji with sharpened Six Eyes perception and Red. 92 99 100

Appearance

Gojo is a tall, white-haired man with striking azure Six Eyes. He commonly wears a blindfold or sunglasses, though he removes them when he wants to observe cursed energy and combat in full detail. 59 320 394

  • White hair, described as long enough to resemble a mop when set ablaze. 395
  • Brilliant blue, galaxy-like Six Eyes. 320
  • Fair skin and notably refined features, which draw attention even while his face is partially covered. 59
  • Frequently dresses casually in sunglasses; he also wears a blindfold in battle and during cosplay. 59 205

Personality

Gojo is overwhelmingly confident in his strength and rarely conceals it. He treats powerful enemies as entertainment, taunts opponents into revealing their abilities, and openly shares information that more cautious sorcerers would hide. 56 174 175 322

His unserious behavior masks a reliable combatant with sharp judgment. He protects civilians when their presence restricts his techniques, recognizes enemy traps quickly, and is willing to make strategic sacrifices when necessary. 453 474

Gojo is deeply social despite his arrogance. He becomes lonely when Geto is away, seeks out Choso for companionship, and uses provocation, games, and reckless training to connect with students. 205 240 379

Abilities & Skills

Six Eyes

A rare constitution that grants Gojo exceptional perception and cursed-energy control.

  • Observes cursed energy, its trajectories, and opponents' physical states with extreme precision. 188 324 395
  • Allows him to predict attacks and identify abnormal or impure cursed energy. 308 324
  • Enables highly efficient cursed-energy use, often allowing his recovery to match or exceed normal combat expenditure. 55 188
  • Supports precision operations such as repairing his own Cursed Technique Severance through controlled brain destruction and healing. 188 324

Limitless / Infinity

Gojo Family inherited technique that creates an untouchable distance between Gojo and incoming threats.

  • Automatically evaluates danger and can activate defensively without conscious input after Gojo's refinement. 107
  • Stops physical attacks, projectiles, and cursed techniques before they reach him. 55 174 309
  • Can be disrupted by technique-nullifying weapons and abilities, including Rule Breaker and the Inverted Spear of Heaven. 55 92
  • Remains vulnerable to prolonged pressure from Domain Expansions and techniques specifically designed to destroy cursed techniques, such as Tsuchigumo's Destruction. 459 460

Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue

An attractive force that Gojo describes and uses like a simulated black hole.

  • Pulls, crushes, or tears apart targets caught within its attraction. 54 65 174
  • Can be projected as a large-scale battlefield-clearing attack. 169
  • Enhances mobility by adjusting Gojo's movement and direction in midair. 174
  • Can be used to shorten distance for near-instant movement. 205

Reverse Cursed Technique: Red

A repulsive application of Limitless awakened after Gojo's near-death experience.

  • Produces violent repulsive force capable of blasting away Special Grade cursed spirits and enemy swarms. 100 169 174
  • Functions offensively at close range and can propel Gojo at high speed. 174
  • Serves as a countermeasure when enemies breach his preferred range. 322 395

Hollow: Purple

A destructive fusion of Blue and Red.

  • Forms a spatially distorting purple mass that annihilates everything in its path. 169
  • Cleared a several-kilometer path through the Sendai Barrier's cursed-spirit army. 169
  • Is considered one of Gojo's personal trump cards, though he openly revealed it to others. 322

Reverse Cursed Technique

Gojo can heal severe injuries and restore damaged cursed-technique functions.

  • Awakened it while near death after Toji's attack. 99 100
  • Heals injuries sustained in high-output battles, including damage from Domain clashes. 322 460
  • Allows the dangerous repair of the brain region responsible for cursed-technique control. 188 412

Domain Expansion: Infinite Void

Gojo's domain floods targets with overwhelming information.

  • Can shatter weaker domains outright, as demonstrated against the Great Tengu's Arashi. 175
  • Leaves affected targets mentally immobilized and unable to function. 474 476
  • Can be compressed to increase its durability and force enemies into close combat. 323
  • Faces difficulty against Sukuna's Open Domain, which repeatedly shattered Infinite Void's outer barrier. 322

Anti-Domain Techniques

Gojo can defend against enemy Domains even when Infinity is suppressed.

  • Uses New Shadow Style: Simple Domain to neutralize a sure-hit effect and escape Kenjaku's Domain. 322 460
  • Has used Falling Blossom Emotion to buy time during his clash with Sukuna. 322

Hand-to-Hand Combat and Mobility

Gojo combines physical strength, teleportation, and technique-assisted movement.

  • Overpowers Uraume with a single slap and can halt incoming ice spikes without deploying a cursed technique. 320
  • Uses Six Eyes perception to fight Sukuna's four-armed true form in close combat. 324
  • Trades sustained blows with Kashimo rather than retreating, even against lightning-infused attacks. 395
  • Uses Blue and Red for high-speed aerial movement and long-range repositioning. 107 174

Soul Entry and Cursed Speech Experimentation

Through an arranged training method, Gojo's soul enters and controls Toge Inumaki's body.

  • Communicates directly with Toge's soul while controlling his body. 375
  • Experiments with Cursed Speech beyond the vocabulary traditionally used by the Inumaki Family. 375 379
  • Pushes Toge's body through repeated injury and Reverse Cursed Technique healing, improving his physical limits and resistance to Cursed Speech backlash. 378 379

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Blindfold and sunglasses — Worn regularly, including during missions and training. 59 205 394
  • Simple Domain Cursed Tool — A collected tool Gojo uses to create Simple Domain and neutralize Kenjaku's Domain sure-hit effect. 460

Relationships

  • Dongfang Eiji — Best friend and frequent sparring partner. Gojo's early curiosity developed into a close, competitive friendship marked by mutual teasing. 6 54 221
  • Suguru Geto — Gojo's best friend and closest equal. He fiercely protects Geto from perceived negative influences, trusts him in battle, and remains close to him through the story's altered ending. 122 474 477
  • Shoko Ieiri — Classmate and friend. Gojo regularly teases her, while Shoko is one of the few people able to see through his disguises and antics. 59 239
  • Masamichi Yaga — Teacher and principal figure whom Gojo genuinely respects, even if he frequently tests Yaga's patience. 54 205
  • Choso — Junior and companion after Geto leaves to travel. Gojo playfully mentors him through “world's best Onii-chan training” and shields him from the Kamo Family. 205 206
  • Riko Amanai — Protected during the Star Plasma Vessel mission; Gojo's realization that she was in danger drove his recovery and return to battle. 92 99
  • Toji Fushiguro — Enemy whose ambush nearly killed Gojo and triggered his Reverse Cursed Technique awakening. 92 99 100
  • Ryomen Sukuna — A rival Gojo considers the challenger despite Sukuna's overwhelming cursed-energy reserves and true form. 320 324
  • Kenjaku — Long-term enemy who regards Gojo as one of his greatest obstacles and continually seeks counters to Limitless. 201 458 460

Story Role / Major Arcs

Sendai Barrier

At the West Gate, Gojo opens the battle with Hollow: Purple, annihilating a vast number of cursed spirits and raising allied morale. He later toys with the Great Tengu, uses it as an improvised weapon against its own forces, and destroys its domain with Infinite Void before sending its head to Geto. 169 174 175

Sukuna Confrontation

Gojo confronts Sukuna without fear, identifies every combatant around him as an enemy, and names Sukuna the challenger. Their fight becomes a contest of domain knowledge, cursed-energy manipulation, and close-quarters skill; Gojo repeatedly adapts Infinite Void to Sukuna's Open Domain. 320 324

Jujutsu High Instructor

Gojo trains students through deliberately infuriating practical exercises, making himself a moving target so that Haibara, Nanami, and Ijichi improve their aim and coordination. His training of Toge Inumaki similarly produces major gains, though it leaves Toge hospitalized for three days. 118 378 379

Shibuya and Kyoto Conflict

At Shibuya Station, Gojo protects civilian hostages while recognizing that Jogo and Hanami are bait for a larger trap. He eventually defeats them and sends them into an Imaginary World before rushing to Kyoto for stronger opponents. 453 456

In Kyoto, Gojo faces Tsuchigumo, Kenjaku, Abe no Seimei, Sugawara no Michizane, and multiple Domain users. His Infinity is pushed near collapse by coordinated technique-destruction attacks and Domain pressure, forcing him to fight at full strength and use Simple Domain to escape. 458 460

Prison Realm and Final Battle

Gojo and Geto deliberately allow themselves to be sealed in Abe no Seimei's Prison Realm to buy time and eliminate surrounding enemies. Once able to act again, Gojo restores his cursed technique and uses Infinite Void to incapacitate Kenjaku's main body. 474 476
