Background & History

Undead Inn

Ye Wuxin first encounters Zhou Yi in an Inn inhabited by undead creatures. He verifies Zhou Yi's humanity by having both of them display their respective energies: Zhou Yi's pure golden Origin Qi and Ye Wuxin's azure spiritual energy. Though he suggests killing Zhou Yi as another test, he disperses his energy and introduces himself instead. 363

By the time Zhou Yi meets him properly, Ye Wuxin has endured the Inn's assimilation for four days. He is visibly pale and weakened, but remains calm while sharing what he knows about the Inn and its other living visitors. 369 370

When Zhou Yi offers escape as an alternative to waiting for Ye Wuxin's family to rescue him, Ye Wuxin hesitates over the risks of both choices. He later joins Zhou Yi in leaving the Inn and exploring the surrounding darkness. 374 388

Dazhao Temple

Outside the Inn, Ye Wuxin supports Zhou Yi by using spiritual energy to light their way and fights beside him against a creature protected by black mist. His Boundless Sea ultimately annihilates the creature after overpowering its defenses. 390 393 396

Ye Wuxin identifies their location as Dazhao Temple through his knowledge of Buddhist history and ancient records. He assists Zhou Yi in investigating the temple, meeting Venerable Huafa, and entering the Scripture Repository. 401 412 417
