Background / History

Nuwa was born near the end of the Three Clans era and personally witnessed the turmoil that followed their war. She joined the early Demon Race alongside Fuxi because Di Jun and Tai Yi originally sought to unite the myriad races and restore peace. As the Demon Race became a new source of conflict, Nuwa and Fuxi gradually withdrew from its center of power. 114

She first appears with Fuxi searching a desolate valley for a congenital great formation containing the intent of creation. Nuwa immediately recognizes the formation as an opportunity destined for her. 43

While traveling with Cihang, Nuwa reflected on the endless conflicts among the Great Desolation's races and concluded that a new protagonist race was needed to end the cycle. Cihang's remark about such a race triggered her enlightenment; Primordial Violet Qi responded within her, and the Dao of Creation began manifesting around her. 114

At Buzhou Mountain, Nuwa used Innate Breathing Soil and Three Lights Divine Water to create intelligent life. With Cihang's Creation Cauldron and Gourd Vine, she refined the materials into Creation Breathing Soil and created the Human Race in great numbers. Cihang secretly incorporated Five Elements Origin into the humans, an act Nuwa sensed and tacitly permitted because it strengthened the race she was creating. 116

The Merit of Human Creation allowed Nuwa to prove the Dao as a Saint. Hongjun then ordered her to establish her dojo in the Chaos, guard the Great Desolation against chaotic erosion, and refrain from easily entering the Great Desolation. 117 119

Nuwa is most often described through sacred manifestations rather than fixed physical details. Her presence is accompanied by creation light, saintly pressure, and phenomena that inspire reverence among living beings.

Nuwa initially acts from a desire for order and fairness. Despite holding the title of Empress Wa, she does not automatically favor the Demon Race in disputes with the Witch Race, and she intervenes against conflicts she witnesses regardless of faction. 114

Her pursuit of the Human Dao makes her highly strategic and pragmatic. She recognizes that the Human Dao encompasses all sentient beings but is centered on the Human Race, leading her to distance herself from Di Jun and Tai Yi when they become obstacles to her authority. Nuwa's strongest personal attachment is to Fuxi. She repeatedly acts for his sake, from protecting his remnant soul after the Witch-Demon catastrophe to accepting the severance of his Demon Race ties so he could become Human Emperor.
