Chaos and the Heaven-Opening

Pangu was born in Chaos with all three thousand laws and condensed them into the Great Dao of Strength, becoming the supreme existence among the Chaos Demon Gods. Even figures such as Yang Mei had to avoid his might. 269

Seeking to transcend the Great Dao, Pangu attempted to open the heavens. His plan required the Origins of countless Chaos Demon Gods, making his Heaven-Opening a threat to their survival rather than a purely altruistic act of creation. 548 The Great Dao allegedly manipulated events by inducing Pangu to begin early and leading other powerful Demon Gods to obstruct him. 570

Pangu came close to proving the Dao but failed when the resentment of slain Chaos Demon Gods became a curse. That resentment gave the previously impartial Will of Heaven and Earth a consciousness, creating the Heavenly Dao, whose final backlash forced Pangu to support heaven and earth with his body and transform his Dao into all things. 41

Contingencies for Revival

Pangu's transformation did not constitute complete death: all things in the Great Desolation retained a connection to him. He left behind multiple revival contingencies, including the Three Sovereigns—Cangli Shi, Yuejian Shi, and Jiutou Shi—to restrain the Heavenly Dao's authority. 41

The Three Pure Ones originated from Pangu's Primordial Spirit, while the Twelve Ancestor Witches inherited his essence blood and physical lineage. Return and Full Revival

The Three Pure Ones first gathered their essences to manifest Pangu's Primordial Spirit against Luohu. Unlike the Witch Race's Pangu True Body—which was residual physical power—the being that emerged was Pangu's reborn consciousness. 498

After merging his True Body and Primordial Spirit, Pangu repelled Luohu effortlessly. His manifestation later dissipated, but a fragment of his True Spirit entered Cihang's sea of consciousness, intending to use Cihang's evolving Creation Green Lotus Origin for recovery. 499 500

Cihang resisted the True Spirit's attempts to develop his sea of consciousness into a miniature Great Desolation. Their conflict ultimately forced Pangu to negotiate rather than simply consume Cihang's Origin. 501 502 538

Pangu was fully resurrected when Cihang refined Pangu Hall back into Pangu's Heart, the Three Pure Ones gathered their Primordial Spirits, and the True Spirit Consciousness within all living beings returned to him. Personality

Pangu is fundamentally driven by the pursuit of the Great Dao. His original Heaven-Opening was undertaken to escape the Great Dao's restraints, even though it required the Origins of other Chaos Demon Gods. 548 He does not regard this as a moral failing; when challenged over competing for the Great Dao's Origin, he frames such conflict as the natural struggle for enlightenment. 598

His attitude toward lesser beings is initially domineering and utilitarian. He entered Cihang's sea of consciousness without consent and considered Cihang's assistance in restoring him to be a matter of course until Cihang developed enough power to threaten him. 538 Pangu also forcibly absorbed allies and Chaos Demon Gods during the battle with the Great Dao, then attempted to retain that power for himself. 595 597

Following his complete revival, Pangu shows a more protective disposition toward the Great Desolation and its inhabitants. He destroys the Heavenly Dao's consciousness, restores the Ancestor Witches' bodies and bloodlines, forgives the Three Pure Ones, and agrees to postpone his conflict with Shichen in favor of confronting the Great Dao. 584 585 586
