Background / History
Tongtian Tower appeared in the Blackwater World at an unknown time, breaking the demon race's former eternal rule. It altered the principles of the Profound Yellow Heaven and Earth, shattered the Desire Realm's system of enslavement and harvesting, and created the opposing structure of Tongtian Tower and the Myriad Demon Abyss. 579 644
It extends its favor to humans and other races formerly enslaved by Heavenly Demons. Upon reaching a qualifying age, individuals may enter the tower as Lords and receive a territory to govern and defend. 579
The tower is considered the core of the main world. A hypothesis attributed to Tongtian Academy holds that the world was fractured during a war of gods and demons; Tongtian Tower occupied the largest fragment, while it collected other fragments and assigned them as Lords' personal territory worlds. 580
Its ultimate origins remain obscure even to Xu Yang. Information known to Ao Chi indicates that it possesses sufficient power to alter world laws, while Yuan Jun later reveals that its origin is connected to the wider war between the Profound Yellow Realm and the Desire Realm. 643 644 710

Functions and Rules
Lord Admission and Territory Assignment
Tongtian Tower admits qualified individuals as Lords and prompts them to select an initial territory type, such as island, mountain ridge, desert, plains, grassland, forest, or random. 579 580
- Each Lord receives a world fragment as a personal territory. 580
- Territory type affects early resource acquisition and special events. 580
- Lords are responsible for developing their territory and defending the main world when demons or other threats attack. 580
- Territory expansion requires World Fragments, obtainable through conquest, purchase, or rewards. 597
System Prompts and Administration
The tower communicates through a cold, automated voice that delivers notices, warnings, rewards, rankings, and system restrictions. 579 587 616
- It confirms formal Lord status once a safety period ends. 587
- It tracks prestige and rookie rankings, with periodic rank rewards. 587
- It regulates Hero recruitment, troop advancement, equipment, buildings, civilization wonders, and inter-Lord transactions. 596 614 667
- It taxes all transactions between Lords, including free transfers; the tax depends on an item's tier rather than its declared price. 614
- Its rules are described as having no exploitable loopholes unless the tower itself permits them. 614
Tier System
Tongtian Tower divides Lords, Heroes, troops, equipment, and accessible areas by tier. Tier is a status and progression system distinct from a cultivator's conventional realm. 586 618
- Tier differences are heavily solidified: powerful effects and damage reduction generally only apply against targets of the same tier. 618
- Lord advancement is a joint breakthrough for the Lord and their territory, achieved by completing designated advancement tasks rather than conventional cultivation alone. 624
- Advancement can be forced through sufficient Tongtian Coins, though completing requirements and supplying resources is more cost-effective. 667
- Higher tiers impose obligations; after becoming a Tier 2 Lord, Xu Yang is required to launch at least twelve annual attacks on Myriad Demon Abyss territories and secure more than three victories. 631
Safety Periods and Warfare
Newly advanced Lords may receive safety periods during which their territories are protected from ordinary hostile action. 631 710
- The end of a safety period opens the territory to Conquest Orders and enemy invasions. 634
- The tower can enforce temporary restrictions during war, including preventing Lords and Heroes from entering or exiting it. 616
- A territory placed under a Forbidden Zone state can lose non-defensive building effects, suffer increased food consumption, and incur severe daily morale losses. 607
- Lords and factions use Conquest Orders to launch or join attacks on other territories. 634 635
Relationship with the Myriad Demon Abyss
Tongtian Tower and the Myriad Demon Abyss form the central opposition of the Blackwater World's current order. Tongtian Tower-backed races and Lords wage continual war against demon forces for authority over the world. 579
The tower's appearance ended the Desire Realm's previous practice of allowing civilizations to develop before harvesting them. Its intervention changed the world's laws and created a system through which many races could resist the demons. 644
Known Limitations
- Conventional cultivation methods are ineffective in the altered Blackwater World; even entry into Tongtian Tower does not restore those original methods. 579
- Lords remain bound by the tower's tier restrictions, advancement tasks, transaction taxes, territorial obligations, and war rules. 614 618 631
- The tower does not provide absolute balance: privileged Lords may begin with powerful talents, equipment, troops, Heroes, or family backing. 607 613
- Only by reaching Tier 10 Earth Immortal Lord or Tier 11 Heavenly Immortal is it believed possible to investigate the deepest truth behind Tongtian Tower and the Myriad Demon Abyss. 624
