Pabbie: Sleep Together?
With these questions in mind, Lucius followed Draco into the room with a portrait of Septimus hanging on the wall, half believing and half doubting.
It's understandable that he was skeptical, after all, the other party was his ancestor and someone who had met Potter before.
Moreover, my great-grandfather had some influence in the Magical World back then, so he must have been very knowledgeable.
Hey, what kind of influence could Great-Grandpa possibly have? He was only slightly more influential than Voldemort in Britain.
Upon entering the room, they saw Draco impatiently approaching the portrait of Septimus.
"Don't bother me unless it's important." Septimus was clearly grumpy from just waking up.
"Great-grandfather, great-grandfather!" Draco ran over excitedly to Septimus and said, "My mom and dad don't believe that Harry is the same Harry from a hundred years ago. Please help me prove that he is..."
Septimus looked at the silly child in front of him with a complicated expression.
Even without Harry's previous agreement, Septimus, whose sleep had been disturbed, didn't want to tell him.
Even portraits need to sleep!
The two factors combined gave Septimus a dangerous smile.
"Lucius." He looked at Lucius behind Draco.
"Great-grandfather," Lucius quickly bowed in greeting.
"I don't doubt your financial management skills, Lucius," Septimus glanced at Draco, "but seeing your son now, I'm starting to doubt your ability to raise children—"
Upon hearing this, Lucius looked at Draco with a bloodthirsty gaze.
Draco swallowed hard in alarm.
No, great-grandfather, why don't you tell the truth?!
In his mind, he transformed into a groundhog, screaming in terror.
He turned to run away, only to find that his mother had blocked his way.
"Great-grandfather, you're right," Narcissa chimed in. "I also believe that a more traditional approach to education is better suited to the physical condition of today's children. Overemphasizing humanism is not appropriate for their healthy physical and mental development."
With a look of despair in Draco's eyes, he was dragged out of the room by Lucius and Narcissa, each grabbing one of his arms.
Before long, screams echoed from the Malfoy Manor, startling a flock of Raven into flight.
Harry foresaw the suffering Draco would endure, but he was happy about it.
This trait might be something he inherited from James; he actually has quite a wicked sense of humor.
He also learned a rather important clue from the Malfoy family.
Although the Malfoy family didn't possess Angel Feather or Basilisk Fang, Lucius pointed him in a direction—perhaps he could try his luck at the home of the legendary France Alchemy Nicolas LeMay.
Nicolas, he knows Nicolas very well.
He and Veratia had been guests at Nicolas's house before, and Veratia's parents were even close friends with Nick, despite their age difference.
Yes, when Veratia's father was a baby, Nicolas and his wife held him.
In terms of seniority and age, few in the Magical World seem to be a match for Nick and his wife.
Considering it was quite late, and to show respect for the elderly man, Harry decided to write a letter to Nick first, and then head to Nick's house after receiving a reply.
Apparition can be used over long distances. Harry was able to use it to Apparition from London to Hogsmeade, crossing almost the entire country.
Now, with the added benefit of the Philosopher's Stone, his understanding of the Charms has deepened even further.
In some Charms, magic power means that more is better, more is better, and with great power you can just throw bricks and be done with it.
When I returned to the Leaky Cauldron, the bar was still open.
Harry greeted Tom and shook hands with several enthusiastic wizards before heading up the stairs.
Inside the room, Pabbie was sprawled out on Harry's bed, covered with a blanket, and looked to be fast asleep.
Hearing Harry open the door, Pabbie lazily opened one eye.
"Pabbie," Harry greeted, "I'm back!"
"Oh." Pabbie sniffed. "I smell it! You must have eaten something good, right? You must have eaten something good, right? Did you bring me anything delicious?"
Harry reached out and ruffled Pabbie's hair, smiling as he said, "It's not very polite to bring food from someone else's house. I'll buy you something nice to eat tomorrow, okay?"
"Okay, okay," Pabbie murmured, squinting her eyes as she enjoyed Harry's caresses.
After a moment, she seemed to remember something and said, "Oh, right, don't buy the coffee flavor. I don't like that bitter taste—I like it sweet."
"Okay, okay," Harry said with a grin. "Whatever flavor you want, here you go—"
He pulled a piece of chocolate out of his bag and handed it to Pabbie. "This is milk chocolate, it's sweet, have a taste."
Pabbie looked at the chocolate in front of him suspiciously, then opened his mouth and ate it.
After a moment, she smiled broadly and said, "Hehe, I knew it."
"Just half a piece is enough," Harry said, pulling his hand back. "Don't eat too much, or you won't be able to sleep tonight."
"Don't worry, Harry." Pabbie shook his head.
"Well, I'm going to France in a while," Harry said to Pabbie. "Do you want to come with me?"
"Yay, let's go to France!" Pabbie cheered. "France has so many delicious foods, I love French food the most!"
Harry gave her an OK sign.
"Let's go to sleep then, we need to get up early tomorrow morning." Harry said, opening his suitcase. "Come in and sleep. Tomorrow we'll go to Uncle's house first, and then I'll have Hedwig write a letter to Mr. LeMay."
"I don't want to go in," Pabbie said, shaking her head.
Harry raised an eyebrow and said helplessly, "Fine, if you don't want to go in, then sleep outside."
Pabbie cheered again, leaping onto the bed and patting the blankets with her hooves. "Come on up, Harry, your sister will put you to sleep—"
"I'm not a child anymore," Harry couldn't help but chuckle.
He was both amused and exasperated by Pabbie's eccentricities. Luckily, she was Unicorn; otherwise, if Veratia or Cassandra found out...
Huh? Why would I think that? He muttered to himself.
In the middle of the night, Harry vaguely felt as if an older sister in Hufflepuff robes was lying on her side next to him.
He opened his eyes and found Pabbie standing on the bed, dozing off.
Oh, I remember now, horses sleep standing up...
He didn't pay too much attention to it, turned over, and quickly fell asleep again.
Pabbie, who was standing, breathed a sigh of relief when she saw him turn over and fall asleep.
The next morning, Harry felt a heavy weight on his body, as if some unbearable weight was pressing down on him.
When he opened his eyes, he saw Pabbie's head resting on his chest, seemingly dreaming of eating something delicious, his mouth still chewing.
"Pabbie..."
He was having difficulty breathing.
Do you know how much damage such a large horse head can cause to a twelve-year-old child?
"Huh?" Pabbie jumped up, noticing Harry's difficulty breathing, and playfully nudged his chest.
"Alright, alright, let's wash up first—come on, let me help you brush your teeth," Harry said.
To his surprise, even after Pabbie had been in the forest for so long, his teeth were still as white as snow.
He thought to himself, "I envy those good teeth."
"Am I not very strong?" Pabbie mumbled, her mouth pinched by Harry.
"White." Harry brushed Pabbie's teeth thoroughly with the toothbrush, then fed her a small bowl of water. "Rinse your mouth."
Pabbie obediently spat out the water, but it landed on Harry's face.
"Haha." She laughed happily.
Harry wiped his face helplessly and put down the towel.
"Have breakfast first, then go to your uncle's house—you can stay in my wallet for a while."
"Wallet?" Pabbie craned his neck. "What wallet?"
"Gringotts ' compensation," Harry answered truthfully. "It's the compensation they gave me, since the loss of Veratia's property was due to their negligence."
"Huh? Is that so?" Pabbie asked curiously.
"You'll find out when Veratia gets back." Harry patted Pabbie's head. "When he goes to Austria-Hungary... to Austria scores with Gellert, I'll take you with me and be on the front lines."
"Then you mustn't forget, I love witnessing these kinds of scenes the most," Pabbie said softly.
Harry readily agreed; he certainly couldn't forget his good friend when it came to something so interesting.
"But Harry," Pabbie suddenly said, "Since you said Gringotts would cover the cost of finding the materials, if you find any alchemical ingredients in France, remember to make sure Gringotts pays..."
Pabbie said that, Harry realized it immediately.
"You're right, Pabbie." Harry nodded seriously. "I think this idea is indeed very feasible."
After a quick breakfast at the Leaky Cauldron and settling the bill for the next two days, Harry Apparition back to the Dursley family.
It was early morning, Dursley family were having breakfast.
Uncle Vernon was holding a cigarette in one hand and the Guardian in the other.
As someone who "believes he should run the country," Uncle Vernon is exceptionally enthusiastic about the Guardian.
"I want some more bacon," Dudley said. "I'm not full, Mom."
"There's plenty in the frying pan, honey," Aunt Petunia said, her eyes welling up with tears as she looked at her big, muscular son. "We need to get you fattened up quickly... The school food makes me uncomfortable..."
Before he could finish speaking, Harry appeared in the Kitchen in a whirlwind.
The family of three froze for a moment, and Petunia and Vernon screamed in unison.
"I think you've come back even more uncomfortable." Dudley dropped his Prongs on the table, but quickly recovered and raised his hand to greet Harry: "Hi, Harry."
"Hello, cousin." Harry pulled a stool over from the side and craned his neck to look into the frying pan. "Oh, and there's bacon too. I think I should have some more."
Dudley grinned foolishly at him.
You know what, after not seeing Harry for a year, he really missed his cousin—especially the Chocolate Frog and Cauldron Cake his cousin brought out. Just thinking about those two snacks made Dudley feel tears welling up in his eyes.
Harry wasn't shy at all; he barely ate anything in his room that morning, as the breakfast at the Leaky Cauldron was absolutely awful.
Seeing that Pabbie was eating heartily, he gave Pabbie the whole breakfast.
Pabbie was indiscriminate in his eating, eating whatever Harry offered. Harry looked at Pabbie with some concern, wondering if such a large appetite would have any adverse effects on his health.
"I think I reminded you in the letter!" Uncle Vernon's face flushed red, and he slammed his hand on the table. "In this house! That kind of trick is not allowed!"
"Oh, Uncle Vernon, how are you?" Harry seemed not to have heard his Uncle Vernon's words, and looked at his aunt. "Auntie, how are you? You look several years younger."
He wasn't exaggerating; in fact, the effects of beauty Potions in the Magical World are countless times better than those in the Muggle world.
The effects are immediate. No matter what kind of pigmentation, freckles, or anything else, just use the beauty Potions and the problem will be solved instantly.
Hearing Harry's words, Auntie's expression softened considerably.
"This is a nice gift for you, Aunt." Harry took a dozen beauty Potions out of his purse. "I noticed you seemed to really like these... well, medicines, so I brought you some before I left."
He tried his best to avoid using words related to magic in his speech. As the saying goes, when in Rome, do as the Romans do. He was Muggle at his aunt's house, but a wizard in the Magical World. Harry took it all in stride.
"Thank you," Aunt Petunia forced a smile.
You know what, when Uncle Vernon saw Harry bringing Aunt Petunia something, especially a beauty Potions that made Aunt Petunia look radiant and several years younger, his attitude changed.
He snorted, sat down in the chair, and muttered, "Use your tricks... just don't let the neighbors find out, or I'll make you pay!"
"This is a gift for you, Uncle." Harry pulled out a lighter. "I bought it at Harrods before."
Harry specifically mentioned Harold to put his uncle's mind at ease.
Look, this is Muggle product, not Wizarding World trick.
Sure enough, Uncle Vernon's expression softened after hearing about Harrods.
As everyone knows, Harrods is a department store that sells luxury goods. Harry buying him a gift from there clearly shows how much he values him.
He took the lighter and mumbled a barely audible thank you.
Harry smiled at him and took a piece of bacon from Dudley's plate.
"You didn't bring me a present!" Dudley, somewhat unhappy.
Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia stared at Dudley in astonishment. They were genuinely surprised that someone could take food from Dudley's plate and have Dudley remain calm.
"Oh, my dear cousin," Harry said in a greasy, dawdling tone, "Of course I brought you a gift, but—please allow your poor cousin to have a little something to eat; he hasn't had breakfast yet."
Aunt Petunia looked as if she had seen a ghost.
This nephew of mine, I haven't seen him for a year, how come he speaks just like that Greasy Little Bat?
