Grindelwald: Do You Think My Sister Will Mourn You, Scarhead?
All the students at Hogwarts were looking forward to their first Defense Against the Dark Arts. Perhaps at Lockhart's special request, the Defense Against the Dark Arts for each school year were all crammed into one class.
This means that the four houses in the second year are taking Defense Against the Dark Arts together.
Not only the female students, but even the male students were looking forward to Lockhart's classes.
However, their expectations were different from those of the female students. The female students were looking forward to Lockhart's lectures, while the male students were looking forward to Lockhart making a fool of himself and exposing his incompetence.
The second grade is different from the first grade. The curriculum also increases accordingly, and the time left for students to have free time gradually decreases compared to the first grade.
After the Herbology Class on Monday morning, Professor Flitwick's Charms Class began.
Professor Flitwick looked much the same as last year; he was still standing atop a towering stack of books, waving his wand as he explained key points to everyone.
"Today we're going to learn the 'Marking Manifestation' spell," Professor Flitwick said, waving his wand in the air. "What you need to know is that it's a spell that creates a burning line of fire in the air, basically 'drawing' a specific shape in the air with your wand, like writing. See?"
As he spoke, Flitwick waved his wand in the air, drawing an X mark.
"Look, this is how the Charms is applied—" Professor Flitwick exclaimed shrilly. "And there are all sorts of other applications, like writing words, you see... if I were to write Filius Flitwick, it would be like this..."
He waved his wand again, writing "Filius Flitwick" in fiery red letters in the air, the letters appearing to burn and crackling.
"Professor," Seamus suddenly raised his hand and said, "So what's the use of this mark? For example, how would this spell help us in combat?"
Professor Flitwick smiled and said to Seamus, "That's a good question, Mr. Finnegan —but I need to make it clear that not all Charms are for battle. Just like in our daily lives, we also need some little Charms that make our lives easier, don't we?"
"I understand, Professor," Seamus nodded.
"However, as your professor, I need to let you know something," Professor Flitwick said, hands on his hips. "I know some of you might think this is a bad Charms —but I need to tell you that there are no bad Charms, only bad wizards."
"Look, like this."
Professor Flitwick waved his wand and made a mark in the air.
"For example, when you're exploring, this marker can help you mark the places you've been, allowing you to quickly find the exit—"
He waved his wand, scattering the marks.
"You see, this is another application of the Charms. As for the other applications, I won't explain them to you one by one. After all, you'll feel more accomplished if you explore them yourselves, won't you?"
Professor Flitwick jumped twice on his book and said to the students, "I will give you some homework—"
Upon hearing this, the students expressed their disappointment.
"Ah, don't be nervous, children," Professor Flitwick said with a smile. "This isn't mandatory homework—the homework I'm assigning you is to find another way to apply all the Charms I've taught you. I'll check them one by one in the first Charms Class after Halloween, and if anyone can find another way to apply Charms during this time, I'll give your house extra points."
"Yay!" The students burst into enthusiastic cheers.
This assignment is great! It's not mandatory, and there's even a reward for completing it.
Is there any better assignment than this?
"Well then," Professor Flitwick looked around and began calling roll, "I think the best among our students should have many different uses for Charms... for example, Mr. Potter?"
Harry was lost in thought, pondering the Basilisk, when Flitwick suddenly called his name.
"Harry, Professor Flitwick asked if there's another way to apply the Charms?" Ron whispered a reminder.
Another way to apply Charms?
Harry thought to himself, "That's the question..."
"Professor, I request that Ron demonstrate with me," Harry said.
Ron's face immediately fell.
Bloodbath hell, buddy, are you repaying kindness with enmity?
He couldn't help but think of the two applications Harry had suggested in Herbology Class...
Perhaps I haven't died?
"Harry..." Ron said pitifully.
"Don't worry, Ron, I know what I'm doing," Harry said with a smile.
"Alright, Mr. Potter, and Mr. Weasley," Professor Flitwick said happily, gesturing for the two to come forward. "Then you two can give everyone a demonstration."
"Professor, I'd like to demonstrate the Accio," Harry said to Professor Flitwick. "As we all know, the Accio is a spell that summons objects, but it cannot be used on humans."
"Yes, yes, Mr. Potter." Professor Flitwick's eyes grew brighter. "But I think the Accio is Charms learned in fourth grade, isn't it?"
"I did my homework, Professor," Harry replied with a smile.
He was still thinking to himself, "I've been preparing for this for five years."
Professor Flitwick didn't speak, but simply nodded approvingly.
Harry walked to the opposite side of Ron, about twenty meters away, and then waved his wand.
"Accio (Accio)!"
The Charms struck Ron, and Harry flicked his wand backward, sending Ron flying.
It flew right up to Harry, Harry tapped his wand to put it down.
"Professor, I think if we change our approach and use the Accio on a person's clothes, we should be able to Accio that person—just like I did to Ron."
Professor Flitwick was even happier, bouncing around on the table. "Excellent! A very good application of the Charms! Gryffindor +20!"
However, in his excitement, he jumped around a bit too much, and in his extreme joy, Professor Flitwick nearly fell backward.
Harry drew his wand again and pointed it at Professor Flitwick.
"Accio (Accio)!"
Professor Flitwick was drawn by the Charms and flew to Harry's side.
"Well done, Mr. Potter! I'll give Gryffindor another ten points!" Professor Flitwick exclaimed happily.
In just one Charms Class, Gryffindor scored thirty points.
When their class ended, the students from the other Gryffindor grades looked at the jewel jar with some confusion.
Oh my god, they got Gryffindor points!
This is their shared idea.
Finally, it's Gryffindor, not Gryffindor.
Including Neville's 20 points, Harry's 30 points, and the points earned by the other students for Gryffindor, Gryffindor now has over 110 points.
Slytherin, who had always been at odds with Gryffindor, was sighing and lamenting, while Crabbe and Goyle were secretly stomping their feet and cursing.
"Don't worry," Draco said calmly. "Professor Snape will take care of it—"
As it turned out, Draco's words were true; that very afternoon, the third-year Gryffindor Potions Class won over thirty points in the lottery.
The Slytherin students were overjoyed, marveling at how powerful Snape's visible hands were.
That's amazing, Snape.
The next morning, the second-grade students were overjoyed to have their first Defense Against the Dark Arts of the school year.
I don't know what Lockhart meant, but he said that Mondays weren't suitable for classes, so his classes were all scheduled for Tuesdays and later.
As a result, the school's timetable underwent significant changes.
The timetables were distributed to the students, with G representing Gryffindor, H representing Hufflepuff, R representing Ravenclaw, and S representing Slytherin.
(Acknowledgement: This course schedule is from a book lover who wishes to remain anonymous.)
Great Ming, there's nothing you can do about it.
Professor Snape's gaze toward Lockhart grew even more displeased, and the students noticed him staring at Lockhart menacingly during meals on several occasions.
However, this did not surprise anyone, because everyone at Hogwarts knew Snape's idea.
What he most wanted to do was to become Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.
Of course, it might also be because Professor Lockhart sat in on Professor Snape's Potions Class for the first-year students yesterday.
Harry was still speculating with Ron and Hermione during breakfast.
"I bet Professor Snape was after the curse in this course," Harry said, chewing on his bread as he sat in his Gryffindor seat. "That's why he relentlessly pursued the course so that he'd be forced to resign because of the curse and get away from us 'little wand-waving Troll '."
"Good heavens, Harry," Hermione exclaimed in surprise, "I never imagined you could imitate Professor Snape's tone so perfectly."
"Yes," Ron and Snape said together.
Snape?!
The three of them turned around and, sure enough, saw Professor Snape standing behind them, staring at them with amusement.
"Well, well, Potter," Professor Snape smirked, "Gryffindor loses one point for your excellent imitation of the professor..."
After saying that, Professor Snape hurriedly left the scene.
"You really don't know where he'll come from, do you?" Ron shrugged helplessly.
but...
It's just one point, nothing serious. It's still heartwarming to hear someone tease Professor Snape behind his back.
That point deduction was well worth it; everyone thinks so.
Ron was also whispering to Hermione that it was only because of Harry that things would be so complicated if it were anyone else.
After sitting outside the Great Hall for a while after dinner, they began their first Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Honestly, Harry was also quite looking forward to it, wondering what new tricks this new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher would come up with.
Could it be... that he's been possessed by the Dark Lord again?
But seeing Lockhart's sunny smile and the absence of garlic smell, Harry figured it probably wasn't true.
The students sat in the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, which had been expanded by the Untraceable Extension Charm, buzzing and whispering among themselves as if a million flies were buzzing around the room.
The classroom is decorated with many portraits of Professor Lockhart, some are front-facing photos; some are full-body photos; some are photos of him with medals; and some are like Russia nesting dolls, with Professor Lockhart inside painting his own self-portrait.
Without exception, they all covered their ears, trying not to hear the whispers among their classmates.
I must say, the photos of the magical world are truly amazing.
A moment later, the door opened and Professor Lockhart walked in.
It should be said that the students gave the professor a lot of face. The moment he entered, they all stopped whispering and paid attention to Professor Lockhart.
Professor Lockhart walked gracefully to the front of the podium.
He first looked around at the students in the classroom, and finally focused his attention on Harry.
After staring at Harry for a while, Lockhart began to introduce himself.
"Me," he said, pointing to his photo and winking, "Gilderoy Lockhart, Order of Merlin, Third Class, Honorary Member of the Dark Arts Defense League, five-time winner of The Witch Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award—but I don't wear that on my sleeve. I don't ward off the Bunworth Banshee with a smile."
Bandon is a place name; it is a small town in County Cork, Ireland.
Lockhart is referring to the story in "Breaking with the Banshee," in which he recounts his entire process of expelling the Banshee of Bandon.
Seeing Lockhart's smile, the girls in the class all made heart-clutching gestures and looked at Lockhart with doting smiles.
The male students all made gag expressions, especially the Slytherin students, who were the most unrestrained. Draco even rolled his eyes, looking like he was about to faint.
"I feel like we don't need to put olive oil in our salads this year," Ron muttered to Neville.
Neville seemed to share the same sentiment, but he didn't have much of an aversion to Professor Lockhart.
After all, Professor Snape didn't like Lockhart, and based on the principle that the enemy of my enemy is my friend, Neville was still willing to believe Professor Lockhart.
"I see you've all bought my complete works—that's great. I think we should start with a little quiz today. Don't be afraid—just to see how well you read and how much you've understood."
Professor Lockhart stood up and picked up a stack of papers from the podium.
After handing out the papers, he returned to the podium and said, "You have thirty minutes. Now—begin!"
Harry looked down at the test paper. He had thought Professor Lockhart would give some questions about Defense Against the Dark Arts, but to his surprise, it was full of personal information about Lockhart, such as his birthday, his favorite color, his ambitions, and his proudest achievement.
"What's the use of knowing all this?" Harry muttered to himself, putting his pen on the table and beginning nonviolent non-cooperation with the other students.
Thirty minutes was agonizing, at least that's what Ron thought.
Harry didn't care. He sat there lost in thought, still pondering where the Basilisk Fang might appear.
Oh right, he forgot to discuss things with Bodric through the Two-way mirror.
Angel Feather is in Dumbledore's possession, it is only right that Bodric should negotiate with Professor Dumbledore.
The only concern now is whether Professor Dumbledore will sell this item; that depends on Gringotts's resources.
Harry believed that Gringotts ' sincerity should be enough to move Dumbledore.
However, what Harry didn't notice was that Lockhart would glance in his direction almost every now and then.
Half an hour later, the agonizing time finally ended. Lockhart collected all the papers one by one and then looked through them in front of the whole class.
"Tsk tsk, almost no one remembers that I like lilacs," Professor Lockhart said disdainfully. "I mentioned it in ' Year with the Yeti,' and considering that you don't read the book carefully, I think you should take a closer look—oh, and everyone should also read ' A Weekend with the Werewolf.' In Chapter Twelve of the book, I clearly stated that my ideal birthday present is for all people, whether they have magic or not, to live in harmony."
Harry looked up and re-examined the narcissistic professor.
His wish was that wizards and Muggle could live in harmony?
But Harry's intuition told him... it shouldn't be like that.
However, Lockhart specifically praised Hermione because she gave her a perfect score of 100.
"Ten points for Gryffindor," Lockhart said with a smile. "Miss Granger, good girl—"
He placed the test paper on the podium and smiled at Hermione.
"Good girl, I will cherish your test paper."
This resulted in another round of screams from the girls.
They all looked at Hermione with envy, jealousy, and resentment, wondering why they weren't the ones to receive this honor.
With that, Lockhart turned around and gently flicked his wand.
"Now—be careful! My task is to teach you how to resist the most evil things known in the Magical World! You will face the most terrifying things in this classroom."
Lockhart shouted, "But remember, as long as I'm here, you won't be harmed. I only ask that you remain calm!"
All the students held their breath at Lockhart's words. Professor Lockhart pointed his wand at the wardrobe next to him, and then the wardrobe made a clanging noise.
"I must remind you, whatever you do, do not scream," Professor Lockhart said casually. "Not only will it not help you deal with them, it will also provoke them."
Upon hearing this, even Draco, who was sitting in the back row, shrank back, trying to let the tall Crabbe and Goyle block his way.
Professor Lockhart opened the wardrobe, and a Inferi stepped out.
The Inferi's body was twisted and Transfiguration, as if its original appearance had been distorted by some evil force; its dark eyes held no ripples of life, only the coldness and terror of death; its cheeks were pale, devoid of any color, its ashen skin dry and curled up, clinging tightly to the bones, showing no sign of life.
A moment of silence fell over the classroom, followed by a sharp, piercing scream.
No one expected that Professor Lockhart would bring a moving Inferi to the class during the very first lesson, which was also the first Defense Against the Dark Arts for second-year students.
Professor Lockhart waved his wand, creating a circle of fire in front of the Inferi, Inferi inside.
Strangely enough, the Inferi sensed the presence of the fire circle and immediately stopped rushing towards the students, staying in the middle and roaring.
Harry certainly knew about Inferi; in fact, a hundred years ago, Inferi were not a rare thing.
But what Harry is most deeply involved with is undoubtedly what Sebastian Saru did back then.
Sebastian's sister Anne was cursed by Dark Arts and was on the verge of death. Sebastian was heartbroken for his sister and kept searching for a way to break the curse.
Finally, he discovered a divine artifact in the records that could summon Inferi and heal those Dark Magic Curse through sacrifice.
Sebastian desperately searches for the answer behind the artifact that can control Dark Arts, hoping it can heal Anne.
Finally, he found out the location of the artifact, which was in the Fieldcroft Catacombs.
However, by the time Harry and Veratia found out, it was too late; Sebastian had already gone inside when they arrived at the Fieldcroft Catacombs.
At the entrance to the catacombs were the anxious Anne and Ominis.
They ventured deep into the catacombs, defeating countless Inferi, and finally encountered Sebastian, who was surrounded by Inferi.
Just when Harry thought Sebastian was about to be attacked by the Inferi, he discovered that Inferi could easily control them and command them to help him fight.
However, before Harry could say anything, Sebastian's uncle Solomon appeared.
In the midst of the argument, Sebastian, in a fit of rage, cast the Avada Kedavra on Solomon.
Fortunately, Veratia reacted quickly and used her Transfiguration to stop the Killing Curse, preventing a major disaster.
Of course, Veratia didn't forget to give Solomon a final blow of Obliviate.
Nobody sympathized with Solomon. The old man had a terrible temper and was unreasonable. Even Harry sometimes couldn't resist throwing a spell in his face.
Fortunately, the farce ended with Harry and Veratia's strong suppression, and Sebastian's diary was also confiscated by Veratia —they had tested it and found that the magic in it could not remove the curse on Anne.
Harry was lost in his memories, while his classmates continued to scream.
Professor Lockhart allowed the students to scream and express their fear until they were almost done, then he clapped his hands to signal them to stop screaming.
"Well, I have to admit, getting involved with Inferi is indeed a bit too early for you second-year students." Professor Lockhart winked at them. "But I'm sure some of you have read one of my books... Come on, guess which one?"
Hermione raised her hand.
"Granger," Professor Lockhart said with a smile, gesturing for her to stand up and answer.
"Professor, 'Magical Me,' " Hermione said excitedly. "It mentions your battle with the Zombie, but Professor, I can't tell if this is an Inferi or a zombie."
"Excellent, ten points for Gryffindor!" Professor Lockhart clapped his hands happily. "For a witch your age to understand zombies and Inferi is truly remarkable—in fact, this is an Inferi —so, Miss Granger, could you explain to everyone in detail what Inferi is?"
"Inferi is a corpse that has been cursed and resurrected by Dark Wizard," Hermione began reciting the facts with great enthusiasm. "It can become a terrifying puppet or be used as a sacrificial servant by the Dark Wizard who cast the curse. The most obvious sign that you are not facing a living Inferi is its pale, cloudy eyes."
"Good, very good!" Professor Lockhart clapped, and at the same time, the Gryffindor students also began to applaud Hermione.
"I'm so glad, I'm really glad, it proves this school hasn't been corrupted by Dum for too long," Professor Lockhart said, clapping his hands. He then swallowed the name Dumbledore's name again. "I know your Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher from last year, Quirinus Quirrell, right? He never taught you anything real, just repeated his so-called 'adventures,' tsk tsk..."
"Fortunately, it's not too late yet. I'll teach you the real Defense Against the Dark Arts— " Lockhart cleared his throat and began to explain, "Inferi are corpses resurrected by Dark Wizard using necromancy—remember, their bodies have been enhanced by Dark Arts, therefore, ordinary attack spells are useless, for example..."
He waved his wand.
"Stupefy (Stunning Spell)!"
The spell struck the Inferi, only causing it to pause for a moment.
"Reducto (Crushing Spell)!"
The Inferi struck by the spell again still did not react; it even raised its head and let out a furious "Awooo!"
The students present watched Lockhart and the Inferi intently, and even those sitting in the back rows stood up to see what Professor Lockhart was doing.
"So, what I need to tell you is—" Professor Lockhart drawled out, until he felt he had captured the attention of all the students, before revealing his charming smile once more.
This time, no one looked down on his smile anymore.
Because Professor Lockhart has already demonstrated his abilities as a professor.
"Because no spell has yet been discovered that can protect the dead from burning, the Inferi preserved by Dark Arts can only be destroyed by fire." Professor Lockhart tapped the blackboard with his wand, making a crisp sound. "So, among all of you students, who knows any fire-attribute spells? Feel free to step forward and demonstrate."
"Me! Professor!" Seamus quickly raised his hand.
Professor Lockhart looked surprised when he saw another student besides Hermione raise their hand.
It seems Gryffindor will be the teacher's favorite house...
Thinking this, he nodded and said, "Alright, then please come up to the stage Mr. Finnegan, and demonstrate to everyone how to attack the Inferi with the Flame Charm."
Upon hearing the professor's instruction, Seamus picked up his wand and walked onto the podium.
"I need to make it clear beforehand, Mr. Finnegan," Professor Lockhart said softly, "That a young wizard Charms you doesn't have the power to break through the Inferi's defenses—even if you use fire-type Charms, so don't be embarrassed, just do your best."
"Yes, Professor." Seamus nodded repeatedly.
He turned around and looked in Harry's direction.
Harry nodded slightly to him, indicating that he should listen to the professor.
Seamus misunderstood, thinking Harry wanted him to show off his skills.
So Seamus raised his wand and pointed it at the still-screaming Inferi.
"Confringo!"
A burst of fire erupted from the area where the Inferi was, and with a loud "bang," the Inferi was struck in the face by the Charms.
However, the Inferi was a creation of Dark Arts, and it was not something that second-year students could easily handle. All Seamus could do was blow up its face, but he could not let it rest in peace.
An eye floated up and landed on Pansy Parkinson's head with a thud.
The latter was stunned for a moment, then took the sticky, wet, and cold eye off its head, stared at it for a moment, and let out a heart-wrenching scream.
Draco sat to one side, laughing gleefully—along with his friends.
However, in her panic, Pansy swung her arm forcefully, throwing the eye in front of Draco.
Now, it was Draco who was panicking.
"Crabbe! Goyle! Get it away!" Draco lunged backward, trying to get as far away from the big eyeball as possible.
Hermione and Ron stood up together, waved their wands, and cast Clean-up Charms on the classroom.
After all, some areas of the classroom still had traces of skin tissue from the Inferi's face.
Professor Lockhart was clearly taken aback by the power of Seamus's Charms; he genuinely hadn't expected a second-year wizard's Charms to be of such a level.
Even if it's just blowing up the face of Inferi, that's still considered top-notch among second-year students—you have to understand, that's a level that only outstanding third-year students at Durmstrang can achieve.
After all, the Inferi are protected by Dark Arts.
This discovery delighted him—and surely his husband would be even happier?
These are the seeds of the Saints ' future...
Ha, incompetent Dumbledore! Staying at Hogwarts will only make Honeydukes ' sweets more expensive!
He noticed Hermione and Ron's actions, glanced around the spotless classroom, and announced loudly, "Very good Charms! Gryffindor gets ten points—for Miss Granger and Mr. Weasley's Charms; and as for Mr. Finnegan, your excellent Charms will earn Gryffindor ten points!"
Seamus jumped for joy, and even Lockhart seemed much more pleasing to the eye.
As long as it adds points to Gryffindor's grades, even if Professor Lockhart is a bit greasy, it's not unacceptable.
Lockhart glanced at the bewildered Inferi, pursed his lips, and waved his wand, signaling it to go inside.
"Alright, now you all know how to deal with Inferi." Professor Lockhart paused for a moment, then continued, "Next, it's time to learn various fire spells—but as the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, I think this is not within my teaching scope, so you'll have to wait until the Charms Class class progresses before learning fire Charms from Filius."
As he spoke, Lockhart winked at everyone, flashing a charming smile.
The students applauded him in unison for his outstanding teaching skills.
After this unique Defense Against the Dark Arts, everyone's opinion of him changed considerably.
Many people abandoned the idea that he was a good-for-nothing and instead firmly supported him.
After class, the students left the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom chatting and laughing. It should be said that most of them were very happy, except for Pansy Parkinson and Draco.
After all, they were the direct victims of the eyeball incident.
Harry, on the other hand, was left behind by Lockhart.
"Harry," Professor Lockhart said with a smile, "You stay here, I need your help with something."
"What is it, Professor?" Harry asked curiously, unsure of Lockhart's purpose in keeping him here.
"I need your help replying to some letters, about my die-hard fans," Professor Lockhart said with a chuckle. "I understand you don't have any classes after tomorrow afternoon, so could you do me a small favor?"
"Excuse me, Professor, I mean—why me?" Harry asked, puzzled.
"Because you are the Savior, the Boy Who Lived," Professor Lockhart said with a chuckle. "And I haven't had much time lately, because I also have to prepare teaching materials and lesson plans for you—goodness, teaching students is a really fun adventure, isn't it?"
Harry thought he was being a bit pretentious, managing to link everything to "adventure."
It seems that otherwise, he wouldn't be able to be seen as an adventurer.
But he had to admit Lockhart was right, because it is indeed very difficult to successfully teach someone real skills.
Just then, Colin Creevey walked over with his camera.
"Harry, may I take your picture?" he said quickly. "I really want an autographed photo of you to give to my dad—you know, he's a milkman..."
Harry couldn't hear the rest; Colin was speaking as fast as the rate of fire of an MG42 in an old movie.
"Looks like you have some big fans too?" Professor Lockhart said with a chuckle. "But that's alright, I think we should take a picture together—the great the Savior and his writer professor... Come on, Mr. Creevey, let's take a picture together."
After saying that, Lockhart said in a low voice, "I'll teach you how to deal with obsessive fans. How about it, don't you want to come and learn from me?"
If you put it that way, Harry will become a little interested.
God knows how annoying Colin is. It's like he knows Harry's schedule by heart, and he's always camped out on Harry's usual route.
For Colin, it seemed that the most exciting thing in the world was saying "Hello, Harry?" six or seven times a day and hearing "Hello, Colin?" in return, no matter how helpless or annoyed Harry's tone was.
Harry felt he had a good temper, but he was the type of person who responded better to gentleness than force—if Colin had been like Draco was, and they couldn't stand each other from the start, Harry would have punched him long ago.
Unfortunately Colin still seemed to like it terribly, leaving Harry completely helpless.
He knew the power of public opinion; if he did something wrong, who knew what kind of gossip the newspapers would spread about him!
Colin received Lockhart's reply, and without caring whether Harry was happy or not, he raised his camera and started taking pictures.
Lockhart readily struck various poses, and Harry had to admit that there was indeed a reason for his fame.
At least in terms of patience with his fanatical fans, Harry was utterly ashamed and completely impressed.
Having finally escaped Colin, Harry sighed with relief, as if he had just survived a close call.
Good heavens, this kid is just born to annoy him.
As Harry walked towards the Great Hall, he still felt a little out of breath, afraid that Colin would suddenly pop out from somewhere to take a picture of him or say "Hello, Harry."
"What's wrong?" Hermione asked with concern. "You look unhappy. Did someone upset you?"
"I think it's Colin Creevey," Ron said loudly, completely unconcerned that his voice would be heard throughout the Gryffindor Common Room. "Good heavens, he has absolutely no sense of boundaries, all he does is follow Harry around all day..."
"Alright, Ron." Harry knew Ron wanted to be the bad guy, but he didn't want Ron to take the blame.
"You should think of something," Seamus said. "How about I give him a Confringo? I guarantee he'll be stuck in Madam Pomfrey's Hospital Wing for days..."
"That's a bit too cruel," Neville said in a low voice. "But I don't have any better ideas... sigh, really."
Even someone as honest as Neville found it hard to stand Colin's actions.
"I suggest we leave him alone," Hermione said softly. "I think he'll get bored after a while."
A silence fell over the lounge; no one seemed to believe Hermione's words.
"Think about Filch's cat," Ron said softly. "It's been petrified for about six months now, since last semester, hasn't it? Sometimes I think, if only Colin could be petrified—then we'd solve two big problems."
"Why are there two?" Hermione asked, puzzled.
"One problem is how to deal with Colin Creevey," Ron shrugged. "Another problem is Colin Creevey himself."
Everyone laughed upon hearing this.
Ron is certainly quite skilled at making sarcastic remarks.
At lunchtime, Harry saw Hedwig float in.
I thought Hedwig had brought something else, but it turned out to be a letter from Mr. LeMay.
Behind them were three more owls, each carrying a large bag in its talons.
Hedwig swooped the letter down in front of Harry, and the little furball snuggled into Harry arms, nuzzling Harry and letting out a soft, coquettish whimper.
The remaining three owls placed the large bag next to Harry and then fluttered away.
Harry looked down and saw that the large bag was filled with bundles of Pound Sterling.
He opened the letter again, which read:
Dear Sir:
How have you been lately? It should be the start of the School Opening year now, and I imagine life at Hogwarts must be very exciting.
Miss Sweeting is recovering well and is expected to return to Hogwarts by the end of this month.
P. S.: I really like the gift you gave me. Perenelle and I both agree that the game called "Eier's Civilization I" is very fun. It has added a lot of fun to our lives and we don't have to wait for the days to pass by.
Enclosed with this letter is a bag of Pound Sterling. When it is convenient for you, please help me buy a few more computers. I would like to modify these tools in my spare time to make them more suitable for a wizard's physique.
Nicolas Flamel's letter to Harry Potter, 2 Bre, 1992
Harry put the letter away and looked at the bag of Pound Sterling again.
"Oh my god, what is this?!"
Hermione gasped.
"Look."
Harry took a bundle of fifty- Pound Sterling notes out of the bag; these were not everyday denominations.
"Pound Sterling?!" Hermione whispered, staring incredulously at the bulging bag, almost half her size. "So many Pound Sterling... Good heavens, Harry, just how rich is your friend?"
Seamus also joined in; being Half-blood wizard, he naturally knew the purchasing power of the Pound Sterling.
God knows, even if his father worked year after year for more than a decade, he might not have been able to save up this bag of Pound Sterling.
"I don't know if he has money or not, but he's definitely richer than me," Harry said truthfully.
No matter how arrogant he became, he wouldn't dare to compete with an Alchemy who had lived for over six hundred years in terms of wealth.
God knows how much wealth Nicolas Flamel amassed over the years.
However... the letter says that Mr. LeMay wants him to buy a few more computers? And he wants to modify the computers into tools suitable for wizards to use?
Um...
Harry thought it was quite interesting and suggested that Mr. LeMay give it a try.
"Is this Muggle currency?" Ron leaned closer and asked, "How much money could these little pieces of paper possibly be?"
Wizards living in the wizarding world would not understand the Muggle world, and similarly, Muggle living in the Muggle world would not understand wizards.
Ron clearly had no concept of the Pound Sterling.
"See this?" Hermione pulled out a piece of paper and waved it in front of Ron. "One piece of paper like this is fifty Pound Sterling —you know, the exchange rate at Gringotts is five Pound Sterling to one Galleon. Just think how much money is in this?"
Ron felt his brain suddenly overload.
Good heavens, one sheet of paper is worth ten Galleon, and there are so many sheets of paper...
Ron felt a little out of breath.
So Galleon... So Galleon, how many chicken legs could that buy?!
"I think I'll have to make time to go out sometime." Harry folded the letter and put it in his pocket. "But this is indeed a lot of money. We should return the rest of the money after we buy it."
Ron forced his eyes away from the bag of money and agreed, "You're right, Harry, we can't be greedy for other people's money—"
Hearing Ron's words, Harry turned around and, along with his friends, gave him a thumbs up.
Ron scratched his head and chuckled.
To avoid attracting attention, Harry quickly stuffed the bag of Pound Sterling into his wallet.
Fortunately, the bag of money was surrounded by the friends, and no one around noticed what was happening, so it didn't cause any trouble.
Well... since Mr. LeMay wants to research, then let's research a few more models for him—he remembers there's also a Notebook, which we can buy a few of and give to Mr. LeMay.
If this were successfully developed, making money in the Wizarding World would be a piece of cake, not to mention anything else.
He wasn't really interested in money, but considering that Gellert had run off with all of Veratia's money, Harry felt he needed to earn some to fill Veratia's coffers.
"Oh, right, Harry," Hermione suddenly said, "Diggory from Hufflepuff asked me to ask you when our Dueling Club starts?"
"The day after tomorrow night," Harry said. "I have to go see Professor Lockhart tomorrow night."
"What are you going to do there?" Hermione asked, puzzled. "My goodness, Harry, what an honor this is! You must seize this opportunity..."
"Professor Lockhart asked me to write a reply to his fans," Harry said honestly. "He said he's too busy preparing lesson plans for us, so this is the only way he can respond to his fans who love him."
Upon hearing Harry's words, Hermione clutched her heart with both hands.
"My goodness, isn't he so considerate?"
Ron made a S.P.E.W. face, but Hermione didn't see it.
If he gets caught, he'll probably get another scolding, but Ron isn't stupid.
"Professor Lockhart also said he'd teach me some tricks for dealing with overly enthusiastic fans," Harry said softly. "I didn't really want to go, but considering he's going to teach this, I decided to go and learn it anyway, after all... you know."
Everyone nodded in agreement; they had witnessed firsthand just how annoying Colin Creevey was.
Good heavens, if someone like that were to be staking out that spot every day at the same time, it would be suffocating.
We're all classmates, so you can't hit them, and you can't scold them...
Harry was also thinking that on his way back from writing to Professor Lockhart, he could go to the bathroom to drink some Ageing Potion and then have a call with Bodric to tell him about Headmaster Dumbledore possessing the Angel Feather.
During Harry's plans, Lockhart, who worked in the Defense Against the Dark Arts Office, also transformed into an elegant old woman.
Although she looks old, her demeanor and temperament reveal that she was an absolutely impeccable elegant beauty in her youth.
She is Vera Rosier, one of Gellert Grindelwald's most capable lieutenants.
Vera unfolded a Parchment on the table and wrote down the next plan in detail, praising Gellert's eye for talent in discovering someone as outstanding as Harry Potter.
She also specifically praised Harry's abilities in all aspects.
The letter also said that Gellert's strategy was correct, allowing her to make arrangements in advance and win over Dumbledore's golden boy.
She also attached a photo of herself and Harry to the letter, but in Lockhart's likeness.
After finishing writing, Vera threw the letter into the fireplace.
Then, a pale blue flame ignited in the fireplace and swallowed the letter whole.
Austria, Nurmengard Castle.
Upon receiving the letter, Gellert turned pale and sat there holding the photo, saying nothing.
"Sir, what's wrong?" the wizard behind him asked with concern.
Gellert didn't answer, he just waved his hand behind him.
The wizards obediently withdrew, leaving Gellert alone in the room to think.
After a while, Gellert lit a pale blue flame in his hand, burning the photograph to ashes that scattered throughout the room.
"Ha, Scarhead Veela..."
"Do you think... my sister would mourn for you?"

There are many cities in the world named "Bandon", but since Bunworth Banshee is Ireland legend and is mainly located in Ireland and Scotland, it can be determined that the Bandon mentioned in the section is Ireland city.
In the simplified Chinese version of * The Chamber of Secrets *, the city's name is translated as "Wanlun," and a footnote mentions it as a "port city in southwestern Thailand." Considering the distribution of Female Ghost, this is undoubtedly a mistranslation.
The original translation of "Female Ghost" is "Banshee." This name comes from the Ireland "bean sí," which is more accurately translated as "female demon." She is a banshee in Ireland folklore who foretells death, also known as the "Banshee" or transliterated as "Banshee." For example, Sylvanas, the "Banshee Queen" in World of Warcraft, is the Banshee Queen.
Like the Thestral, the Banshee is not harmful, but because her appearance is often accompanied by death, she is regarded as Grim creature, and people fear her.
