It is an indisputable fact that no one except Slytherin likes Potions Class.

Even Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, the two houses not targeted by Snape, shared the same mentality.

But those who have graduated can understand Professor Snape's mindset to some extent. After all, when it comes to Potions, if you make a mistake in the steps, it will fail or even become poison.

Relaxing a little in class and missing a knowledge point or step could very well become the main reason for your future mistakes.

The Potions Class at 3 p. m. on Fridays is still a long class of one and a half hours. Just like in the first year, Gryffindor students still have to attend class with Slytherin students.

After lunch, Neville fell into pre-class anxiety.

"Harry..." Neville ate his Meiji absentmindedly. "Oh no, Potions Class again, Potions Class..."

Harry patted Neville on the back with some sympathy, thinking he should find an opportunity to talk to Professor Snape about Neville.

After all, you can't let the child stay like this forever. Neville was already not very confident, and with Professor Snape's merciless and venomous words, Neville's confidence in Potions was completely gone.

"Neville, you should hold your head high." Ron was clearly unfazed. "It's just Potions Class, right? I don't think Professor Snape is anything to be afraid of. It's just a point deduction, Gryffindor doesn't care..."

"Really?" Neville and Snape said together.

Immediately afterward, Neville sensed that something was amiss.

He turned around and met Professor Snape's dark eyes.

"Since Mr. Weasley doesn't care about Gryffindor's points, then... Gryffindor gets three points deducted. Have a nice day."

Professor Snape smirked smugly, then turned and swatted away.

Ron felt terrible after Professor Snape overheard their conversation and ruthlessly deducted three points from his score.

"Good heavens! How does he always appear right behind us?!" Ron growled. "I think he's cast some kind of tracking Charms on us so that whenever we mention him, it alerts him and he comes over to deduct points from our score!"

"Ron, shut up," Hermione whispered back. "Do you want him to catch you? Good heavens!"

Harry looked up and saw Snape already seated in the Teachers' Table. Making sure Snape couldn't hear him, he shrugged and said, "I think Ron is right. He's like a ghost."

Ron let out a sneer, but held it in.

He looked up to check on Professor Snape's position, and seeing that Snape wouldn't notice what he was saying, he leaned on the table and laughed, his shoulders shaking.

Harry's words just now really made him laugh. The ghost behind him... it's really a very apt description of Professor Snape.

However, Seamus's next words silenced him.

"Laughing won't help, we still have to go to Potions Class... Oh God, I really wish there was some magical thing that could help me master Potions quickly..."

"Yes, we don't expect to get extra points in class, we just hope Professor Snape won't deduct any points from us," Hermione whispered as well.

Ron muttered to himself, "The best thing you can do for Gryffindor House is simply not answer the questions, Hermione."

Hearing Ron's words, Hermione's eyebrows shot up, and she glared angrily at Ron.

Ron quickly turned his head away, avoiding Hermione's gaze.

"This kid's life is over," Harry shook his head and sighed.

Even if you really don't want to take Potions Class, you still have to go through this eventually.

As three o'clock approached, the Gryffindor students, with heavy steps that were completely different from those of the Slytherin, dragged their feet into the Potions Class classroom.

A moment later, Professor Snape floated into the classroom, billowing in the wind.

So cool.

Harry pulled his textbooks back to prevent the oil from Snape's hair from splattering onto them when he tossed his head.

Snape certainly noticed Harry's little movements, but he couldn't figure out what Harry was thinking—but judging from Harry's face, he could at least make some malicious guesses about Harry's thoughts.

"In this lesson... we'll learn how to brew herbal remedies," Professor Snape said softly.

He looked around at his classmates and forced a smile.

"So, can anyone tell me what herbicide is?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Hermione raised her hand without hesitation.

Snape automatically ignored Hermione and looked towards the Slytherin side.

To his surprise, one person actually raised their hand.

It's Pansy Parkinson.

Professor Snape wouldn't mind having Slytherin answer the question, thus adding a little point to his house's score.

"Miss Parkinson, you answer this question." He gestured for Pansy to stand up and answer.

Pansy stood up and answered confidently, "Herbicide, also known simply as a herbicide, is a Potions used to kill or remove plants. The recipe for this Potions can be found in 'Magical Drafts and Potions'."

Professor Snape smiled and nodded. "Excellent, Miss Parkinson, Slytherin five points—so, could you tell me the recipe?"

"To prepare the herbal remedy, you'll need the following ingredients: Flobberworm Mucus, Horklump Juice, and lionfish vertebrae," Pansy answered fluently.

Lionfish are not Magical Creatures; they are common fish that can be found in the ocean. Because their large pectoral fins, when spread out, resemble the fierceness of a lion, they are also commonly known as "lionfish."

"Very good, Slytherin gets five points." Professor Snape nodded in satisfaction.

He then quickly pointed to Hermione.

"Miss Granger, please tell me where I can get Horklump Juice?"

Hermione was somewhat surprised that Professor Snape had suddenly called her name, but she didn't think much of it and answered quickly, "Horklump Juice is a substance extracted from Hokey-Pokey —it can be used to make healing Potions and antidote potions."

"What is Hokey-Pokey?" Professor Snape asked again.

"The Hokey-Pokey is a pest that looks like a fleshy pink mushroom, a creature covered in black bristles. It is native to Scandinavia but is now found throughout Northern Europe. This creature typically extends its strong tentacles into the ground to search for its favorite earthworms as food."

Hermione spoke almost without pause, rattling off everything she knew about Hokey-Pokey at breakneck speed.

"Its reproductive capacity is high, and it can completely cover a garden of average size in just a few days. Moreover, Hokey-Pokey are the Goblin' favorite food, and the venom of the Streeler is one of the few substances that can kill Hokey-Pokey."

"But Mr. Scamander mentioned in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them that ' Hokey-Pokey is Goblin's delicacy, and nothing else has been found to be of any use.'"

Professor Snape stared at Hermione blankly, and finally said slowly, "Oh, what a learned lady. It would be even better if you could notice that this is Potions Class, not Care of Magical Creatures — Gryffindor will deduct two points for wasting class time by showing off your knowledge."

Ron let out a soft sigh, unsurprisingly, and wiped his face, trying not to show any pity.

"Does a sigh really improve your Potions skills, you good-for-nothing little Troll?" Snape glanced at Ron with a sharp look.

Ron wasn't upset at all, because Snape had only verbally attacked him once and hadn't deducted Gryffindor.

"Herbal Elixir—" Professor Snape said softly, "Parkinson has already explained it to us in detail, so I won't add anything more. You just need to know its basic function."

"Generally speaking, it takes 45 to 60 minutes to make an herbicide. Now I will explain the specific steps to you."

After saying this, Professor Snape waved his wand and distributed the necessary materials to the students one by one.

"The first step is to put four portions of lionfish vertebral bone spurs into a mortar and grind them."

"The second step is to put the two standard ingredients into a mortar and grind them."

"The third step is to put the powder made from the three portions of scorpionfish spines into a crucible."

"Fourth step, wave your wand and wait patiently."

"Step 5: Add two drops of Horklump Juice to your crucible."

"Step 6: After heating for ten seconds, add two drops of Flobberworm Mucus at the same time."

"Seventh step, stir clockwise four times."

"Finally, wave your wand and finish this herb-removing potion..."

At this point, Professor Snape looked around and his greasy voice rang out again.

"Well—why didn't you write these steps down?"

Upon hearing Professor Snape's words, some students suddenly realized what was happening and began frantically taking notes of the steps Professor Snape had just described.

However, some students had already started taking notes, such as Ron, who was quite clever and started writing as soon as Professor Snape began speaking.

Professor Snape smirked and turned to look at Harry was staring blankly at the ground.

"Well, well, Mr. Potter," Professor Snape said, walking up to Harry. "Can I assume that you've completely memorized the steps I just described, which is why you're sitting here so confidently, lost in thought?"

"Yes, Professor," Harry replied neither humbly nor arrogantly.

Professor Snape snorted, his gaze towards Harry clearly conveying—let's see what tricks you have up your sleeve now.

Harry also looked up and gave Snape a very confident smile.

Ancient Magic -Potions, imbued with magical power, are neither scientific nor magical...

I hope my dear old professor doesn't have any heart problems, otherwise... it wouldn't be good if he got a fright, he thought casually.

In the realm of Potions brewing, Ancient Magic clearly has a catalytic and accelerating effect—this was not a discovery he and Veratia made, but rather an explanation from Professor Rackham Percival Rackham.

It was thanks to Professor Rackham's guidance that he and Veratia learned how to shorten the time required to brew Potions.

"Work in pairs and begin brewing the antidote potion." Professor Snape glanced at his watch. "You have seventy minutes..."

Upon hearing Professor Snape's words, the students immediately lowered their heads.

Seventy minutes means that after deducting the sixty minutes for brewing the Potions, they only have ten minutes to process the medicinal materials.

Ten minutes should be enough time for them to grind the lionfish spines. After all, Horklump Juice and Flobberworm slime are readily available. They only need to take out two drops of the finished product to add to the Potions.

Harry remained in his own group, Ron and Hermione were in another, and Seamus was still with Neville.

Of course, Seamus had no reason to look down on Neville.

After all, even though Neville was Potions- killer, he couldn't stop Seamus from causing all sorts of explosions during Charms Class, which would also affect Neville, often leaving his little face blackened, just like a 19th-century Ireland miner.

However, Harry clearly had other plans for today.

"Need any help, Ron, Hermione?" Harry asked them first.

"No need, thank you Harry," Hermione said with a smile, giving Ron a warning look.

Ron gave Harry a helpless smile, then frowned and began processing the Potions ingredients.

"And you two, do you need any help?" Harry asked Seamus and Neville.

The two nodded hastily, as if afraid Harry would refuse.

"You guys grind up the lionfish spines," Harry said, handing the materials to Seamus and Neville. "The rest is up to me."

The two obediently took the lionfish spines and began to carefully grind them.

Harry snapped his fingers, and flames immediately burst into flames beneath the two cauldrons.

However, while the other students' crucibles were burning with orange flames, his flames were azure blue.

Professor Snape was patrolling the area designated for Slytherin students when he noticed the unusual situation on Harry's side and immediately came over.

But he didn't speak. Only a genius Potions master could brew two Potions at the same time at this age, while the Potter in front of him...

Upon seeing Harry's green eyes, Snape clearly hesitated.

But upon seeing his face, Snape cursed inwardly.

Potter!!!

Harry waved his wand and began adding various Potions ingredients to the cauldron.

Professor Snape watched quietly from the side, without saying a word, like an undercover agent who had infiltrated the Death Eater ' headquarters.

Add the powder and wait quietly...

Snape noticed that Harry waited only a few seconds before quickly pouring the Horklump Juice into the crucible.

"I need to remind you that Potions aren't like cooking, Mr. Potter," Snape said greasyly. "Adding ingredients too quickly could lead to a series of unnecessary consequences—your old professor doesn't want to see you assimilated by your little Troll friend."

Harry looked up and glanced at Snape, then quickly looked down again.

Snape interpreted that look as "You think you're smarter than me?"

Professor Snape's face darkened.

Potter... just like his father! Lazy! Arrogant!

However, Harry showed no sign of stopping. His hands moved swiftly, and the fire under the cauldron intensified, with the Azure flame leaping upwards and nearly burning Neville's face.

After adding two drops of Flobberworm Mucus, Harry stirred the cauldron four times clockwise with the stirring rod, and finally waved his wand to extinguish the flame beneath the cauldron.

"It's done, Professor." Harry looked at Snape with an innocent expression.

Professor Snape glanced at his watch.

No more, no less, forty-five seconds.

"Good, very good, Potter." Professor Snape revealed a sinister smile.

This time, it's not something that can be resolved with just a ten-point deduction, Potter!

He thought angrily to himself, "What a waste of your mother's Potions talent, it's simply..."

With that thought in mind, Professor Snape moved closer to the crucible...

He was stunned.

A silence fell over the classroom, broken only by the sound of a mortar and pestle grinding the lionfish spines.

Professor Snape's pupils contracted, and he abruptly turned to look at Harry, then stared incredulously at the Potions...

Harry raised an eyebrow, meeting Snape's gaze.

"How did you do that?" Professor Snape asked, his voice slightly hurried—but only relative to his usual pace.

He was truly astonished; brewing two Potions simultaneously seemed utterly ordinary compared to this astonishingly fast Potions- making speed.

Good heavens, this completely overturns the ideas of the Potions Master.

But for Snape, this was nothing at all, because he had seen this speed before.

The last person who could brew Potions this quickly was somewhat related to him.

Her name is Lily Evans.

No, it couldn't be Potter!

Snape never acknowledged the name Lily Potter; in his eyes, there was only Lily Evans.

Actually... if Lily were still alive, Snape might not have been so attached to her, but Lily is dead, and Snape felt very sorry for her.

twice.

At least that's what Snape thought.

This led to Professor Snape feeling boundless regret and guilt whenever he thought of Lily, as well as endless longing and yearning for the white moonlight that had illuminated his dark life.

Harry noticed Professor Snape's lapse in composure, recalling the memories he had seen in the Pensieve.

"That's how it is, Professor," he said. "I seem to... well, I don't know why I suddenly wanted to do this, maybe something is guiding me."

Professor Snape took a deep breath.

guide?

What else could it be?

Who else could have been leading this?!

This is the inheritance of blood, the Charms of love! Potter! It is your mother's guidance!

Unbeknownst to him, the anger that had initially been directed at Harry's "arrogance" in Professor Snape's eyes gradually subsided.

Snape was Dumbledore's spy, having long since defected to Dumbledore, so he naturally knew about the existence of this love Charms.

At one point, Snape even overlooked Harry's face, which looked exactly like that of a certain dead man.

He decided he should have a good talk with Dumbledore about Harry's unusual... yet perfectly reasonable things.

"Exceptional Potions -making skills..."

Professor Snape turned around and, for the first time ever, used the word "Outstanding" to describe a student outside of Slytherin.

"... Gryffindor gets ten points."

The Gryffindor students all looked as if they had seen a ghost.

But Professor Snape ignored them, and Potions Class was unusually quiet until Crabbe and Goyle added the Potions ingredients in the wrong order.

After they Horklump Juice drop by drop, the Potions suddenly boiled, with rolling bubbles shooting high into the air and hissing – it even began to bubble outwards.

"Fools!" Professor Snape roared, waving his wand and making the cauldrons in front of them disappear. "Slytherin, deduct five points!"

Crabbe and Goyle shrank back, not daring to say a word.

The Gryffindor students glanced at Crabbe and Goyle with schadenfreude and continued making the Potions they were working on.

Fortunately, Harry had already finished Neville and Seamus's assignment, and Harry had also made up for Gryffindor's biggest weakness— the Gryffindor students did not make any mistakes until the end of class.

When Miss Know-it-all- All was over, she still looked incredulous. She surrounded Harry, asking him all sorts of questions, trying to find out why he was able to brew the Potions so quickly.

"It's probably genetic," Harry said with a shrug.

After class, Professor Snape went straight to Dumbledore's office.

He planned to have a serious talk with Dumbledore.

When he arrived at Dumbledore's office, he saw a Goblin walking out of Dumbledore's office with a satisfied expression on its face.

Professor Snape didn't care; Goblin and such were none of his concern.

"Severus?" Professor Dumbledore munched on Cockroach Candy. "How did you know I just acquired forty percent of Honeydukes?"

"Honeydukes shares?!" Professor Snape frowned at Dumbledore. "I really don't want to remind you again, Headmaster, you'll develop a resistance to the Tooth-strengthening Potion Sooner or Later—"

"With a stake in Honeydukes, I can get a whole new set of teeth," Dumbledore said with a chuckle.

Snape suddenly felt very tired.

"Never mind, that's your own business." Professor Snape waved his hand dismissively and sat down opposite Dumbledore at the table.

Dumbledore gestured to the house -Snape House Elf to pour Snape a glass of lemonade and place it in front of Snape.

"I'm not interested in lemon syrup, Headmaster," Professor Snape said slowly.

"Oh, this is sugar-free," Professor Dumbledore said with a chuckle. "I know my preferences may not suit everyone's taste, so I don't expect others to be like me—"

Professor Snape then picked up the lemonade and took a sip.

It was sour, not sweet at all, which perfectly matched his mood at that time.

"So, forty percent of Honeydukes ' shares," Professor Dumbledore said with a chuckle. "Gringotts is really generous—they would actually trade forty percent of Honeydukes ' shares for an alchemical ingredient that I don't need."

"So you changed it?" Professor Snape asked, raising an eyebrow.

"It's really hard to refuse," Professor Dumbledore shrugged. "Besides, the original owner of the alchemical materials didn't object to it."

Professor Snape nodded, then looked at Dumbledore with suspicion.

"Even the most precious alchemical materials can't compare to Honeydukes's shares, can they?"

He had been successfully led astray by Dumbledore and had forgotten that he was supposed to talk to Dumbledore about Harry.

"Who cares?" Professor Dumbledore said with a chuckle. "What they do with that thing is none of my business—they're not going to make anything dangerous with it, are they?"

With that, Dumbledore put down his lemonade and asked, "So, Severus, besides asking about Honeydukes, is there anything else you need here?"

"I need to make it clear that I have no interest in your shares," Snape said with a grimace. "Besides, I discovered something unusual in Potions Class today."

"Have those 'good-for-nothing little Troll ' gotten you into some new trouble this time?" Dumbledore eyebrow. "I need to remind you that I am also a Gryffindor, Severus —it is clearly not a wise choice to speak ill of Gryffindor in front of a Gryffindor Headmaster."

"Oh, really?" Snape smirked. "No wonder your brain is filled with syrup too..."

At this point, Snape cleared his throat quickly and continued, "What I'm talking about is... Potter."

"Harry? What's wrong with Harry?" Dumbledore asked, raising an eyebrow. Since it concerned Harry, he couldn't afford to be indifferent.

After all, Harry is Voldemort's destined nemesis, and the heavy responsibility of completely eliminating Voldemort and restoring world peace to the Magical World rests on Harry's shoulders.

As is well known, Professor Trelawney's Prophecy are no different from mere ramblings—but Prophecy made in a state of confusion are what constitute predetermined destiny.

"I think the Headmaster should still remember her..."

At this point, Snape's apple bobbed, but he couldn't bring himself to say the name.

"Lily?" Dumbledore kindly said it for him.

"Yes, that's right." Snape nodded. "You should remember that genius witch, her extraordinary skill in Potions."

"I remember," Professor Dumbledore said, as if reminiscing. "Horace told me about it. It's hard to imagine that someone could brew most Potions in a minute, isn't it? Oh, I remember she said that Professor Rackham Percival Rackham taught her this skill."

"Yes, I've heard her say that too." Snape's voice was very soft, as he always did whenever Lily was mentioned.

If the Gryffindor students discovered that Professor Snape also had such a gentle side, they would probably be so shocked that they would eat the portrait of the Fat Lady on the spot.

"Ancient Magic? Right?" Professor Dumbledore smiled. "Ah... truly mysterious magic. Without talent, one could spend a lifetime without ever detecting a trace of Ancient Magic... yet Lily could, and even utilized this magic in Potions..."

"What if I said her child might also have that talent?" Professor Snape asked. "I mean, Ancient Magic talent?"

"Oh, Severus," Professor Dumbledore chuckled. "If Ancient Magic could be passed down through bloodlines, then Luke Wood of the Death Eater would probably be one of Ancient Magic inheritors."

"Luke Wood?" Snape asked, raising an eyebrow.

"August Luke Wood," Professor Dumbledore said, "Voldemort's spy in the Ministry of Magic, the one Department of Mysteries —Ministry of Magic his ancestor, Professor Rackham Charles Lukewood, was one of the inheritors of Ancient Magic."

"I see." Snape nodded knowingly; he had also remembered the name.

That summer, a happy Lily told him about her experience in the Map Chamber.

He has kept this matter a secret.

He never told anyone that Lily was an inheritor of Ancient Magic, not even the Dark Lord to whom he had once served wholeheartedly.

"But her children can be like her," Snape said again. "I watched him brew two potions of antidote potion at the same time, in a minute—do you know what that means, Dumbledore?"

Because Harry is more like Lily, Snape is now less willing to call Dumbledore "Potter" and instead refers to him as "her child."

"What did you say?" Dumbledore asked, looking up.

"I said, he brewed two pots of herbicide in a minute!" Snape said clearly and slowly.

"That's impossible!" Dumbledore exclaimed. "I've never heard of a mother and son simultaneously possessing Ancient Magic heritage—moreover, Ancient Magic heritage can only awaken at the age of fifteen; before that... they are no different from ordinary people!"

"But that's the truth, Dumbledore." Professor Snape lowered his eyelids. "Whether you admit it or not, he is one of the inheritors of Ancient Magic..."

"But what exactly is he..." Dumbledore instinctively reached for the candy, only to have the candy jar quickly snatched into Snape's arms.

Dumbledore missed his target, and he rubbed his fingers together, looking slightly embarrassed, as he pondered deeply.

"Could it be... because of that love Charms?" He looked at Snape. "Ancient Magic has always been very mysterious. Severus, I don't understand this kind of inheritance either... But since this love Charms can deflect the Avada Kedavra, then... could it be that Lily also passed on her own inheritance to Harry in this way?"

"It's not impossible, that's what I was just guessing." Snape twisted the lid off the jar and placed the sugar bowl under Fawkes ' bird stand.

Fawkes pulled the chicken's rear end down hard, and a clump of Phoenix poop fell into the candy jar with a thud.

"That's going too far, Severus."

Professor Dumbledore looked at the sugar jar, which had been burned through by Phoenix droppings, with annoyance and said in a resentful tone.

"This is nothing to Honeydukes's major shareholders, is it?"

Professor Snape spoke in a cheerful tone, seemingly pleased with Dumbledore's loss of sweets.

"I think we should confirm our suspicions," Professor Dumbledore said again. "If Harry really is the inheritor of Ancient Magic, then many of our plans can be restructured."
