Hogwarts's New School Board Member
Harry, far away on the outskirts of the Forbidden Forest, had no idea that Veratia's brother had betrayed Veratia and even told Newt in detail about his past with Cassandra.
He had just found Pabbie, and upon closer inspection, he saw Hermione jumping and playing happily with Pabbie.
A person and a Unicorn were jumping around in the snow, shouting "Yay!" as if they were performing some kind of mysterious ritual.
If you didn't know better, you'd think they were performing a Maori war dance.
"What are you doing?" Harry asked as he walked over.
"Bouncing!" Pabbie shouted, craning his neck. "We're bouncing—"
Harry reached out and used his hand as a knife, striking Pabbie on the head.
"Hehe." Pabbie stuck out her tongue and trotted over to Hermione. "We should go, Hermione. If we don't go back soon, Professor Scamander will get worried."
Hermione sighed.
"Sigh," she said, "I really envy Professor Scamander; he gets to keep so many little animals..."
"Why don't you get one?" Pabbie turned around and asked. "It's better to keep a safe Magical Creatures in your dorm, like Puffskein or Mooncalf... Or if all else fails, you can do what Harry does and get an owl. It can deliver letters to you when it's free."
"I don't know what to keep..." Hermione sighed again. "Maybe I should ask Professor Scamander— "
"Oh dear, Hermione, don't sigh," Pabbie said, bouncing around. "You know, sighing makes happiness slip away..."
"Alright, then no more sighing." Hermione smiled and said, "Let's go back together. Harry, do you want to come with us?"
Harry shaded himself with his hand and watched as Hagrid emerged from the depths of the Forbidden Forest, dragging a bundle of firewood and carrying another in his arms.
"Hagrid's here," Harry said to them. "We might be able to go together."
Having said that, he waved his hand, pulled out his wand, pointed it at his throat, and shouted, "Hey— Hagrid!"
The loudspeaker was so loud that Hagrid was clearly startled, and the firewood in his hands clattered to the ground.
As he bent down to pick them up, the thick layer of snow weighing down the tree fell down, covering his back.
A moment later, Hagrid picked up the firewood again, carried it to his side, and walked over.
"Good heavens, you really gave me a fright, Harry," Hagrid said, patting his chest, still shaken.
Pabbie chuckled twice, her eyes crinkling, and then bounced around on the ground twice more with Hermione.
"What's going on with those two?" Hagrid asked curiously.
Harry didn't say anything, but simply bent his index finger and tapped it on his temple.
This is perhaps an internationally recognized gesture, representing someone who isn't very bright.
Hagrid said "Oh," and then said to Harry, "Alright, let's go back first, it's too cold outside—how about coming to my place to warm up by the fire and have some Rock Cakes?"
"Yay!" Pabbie exclaimed.
Harry then reached out and slapped her on the forehead.
"What are you doing!" Pabbie said, feeling wronged.
"Mr. LeMay said you can't eat, Pabbie." Harry gripped Pabbie's horn sternly. "Not only do I know that, I'm going to tell everyone you know to stop feeding you!"
Pabbie glanced at Harry with a wronged expression. Although she couldn't taste the flavor, she actually really enjoyed the feeling of eating—even though Hagrid's Rock Cakes was very hard, the feeling of eating it was really good.
Don't forget, she's a Hufflepuff.
Hufflepuff loves life and food.
"Don't worry, Pabbie," Harry said again, "I will definitely find a way to make you better."
"Ooh!" Pabbie stuck out her head and rubbed against Harry's shoulder for a long time.
"Miss Pabbie and you are so close," Hermione said enviously from the side. It seemed that she really wanted to keep Unicorn.
But Miss Pabbie Unicorn can speak, and in her opinion, they should be equals.
So she had no choice but to settle for second best and keep some small, miniature, non-intelligent creatures.
Sitting in Hagrid's Hut, Harry asked Hedwig to deliver a letter to Ron, and Ron arrived at Hagrid's Hut shortly afterward.
"Hermione said she wants a pet," Harry said to Ron. "Why don't you help her think of what kind of pet would be best?"
Hermione spoke first, "I want to get a cat..."
"No way!" Ron said firmly, "A cat won't do! What if it eats my Scabbers? He's so old, he shouldn't be treated like that!"
"Cats don't necessarily have to eat mice, Ron!" Hermione retorted. "Actually, they can eat cat food. Once they get used to eating cat food, they won't think about eating your Scabbers anymore."
The door was suddenly pushed open.
The person who walked in was Newt. He had his head down and still looked socially awkward, completely unable to handle such a large crowd.
"I need to remind you, Miss Granger," Newt said seriously, "That the hunting instinct is ingrained in cats; it's their nature. They will never let small animals go just because they're full... If you decide to get a cat, then I still suggest that Ron mail his pet mouse home."
After saying that, Newt added, "I've seen cats hunting small birds more than once. They shouldn't even be in those places... It's in the nature of cats; hunting is their instinct."
"What should I get as a pet...?" Hermione sighed. "I really want to get a pet..."
"Why don't you keep Ron?" Harry suddenly said. "I think Ron would be the perfect pet for you—look, he's healthy and eats well, you don't have to worry about feeding him, and he can even understand what you're saying..."
"Come on, Harry." Hermione rolled her eyes at Ron. "He can understand human speech? Ha! I told him to finish his homework properly a long time ago, and what happened? He still tried to copy mine. That's bad enough, but he even tried to copy my exam answers. This is just unacceptable."
"That's an insult!" Ron retorted. "I've already been studying according to the review plan you gave me. Don't believe me? Test me!"
Hermione snorted, ignoring him, and said to Harry, "By the way, Harry, where have I seen Veratia lately? I haven't seen her at the Gryffindor's long table at meals."
"She has other things to do, so she hasn't been able to find the time lately," Harry said, tugging at Pabbie ' ear. "I heard her say that Dumbledore has agreed to let her study at Muggle university in her spare time... She also seems to have applied for a Time-Turner to help with her studies."
Upon hearing Harry's words, Hermione's eyes lit up with a spark of mutual respect.
My goodness, they are so diligent and hardworking.
"Then how will she get there and back?" Ron suddenly asked. "I remember that you can't Apparition Hogwarts, right?"
"She has Phoenix," Harry said succinctly. "Fiona, that's her Phoenix..."
"It's about both of you, isn't it?" Pabbie suddenly corrected. "I know about this—"
At this point, Pabbie suddenly stopped talking.
The Phoenix was no secret; after all, it was Harry and Veratia's trophy.
Phoenix?
Hermione's heart skipped a beat; she knew what pet she should buy.
Throughout the weekend, Veratia was nowhere to be seen. Apart from the morning when Harry would drag Veratia to the girls' restroom on the second floor and hug him for a while, Harry could not see her until the evening.
According to Veratia, Gringotts handled all the admission procedures for the London School of Economics.
In this respect, Gringotts is quite professional, keeping in mind the six no's rule and not interfering in anything at all.
The Board of Governors was held as scheduled on Saturday morning.
The Board of Governors was held in the Headmaster's Office. Early in the morning, the Hogwarts school board member of Governors arrived at Hogwarts in a hurry.
The students certainly know these school board member, since most of them are the fathers of the students present.
Pabbie was a little nervous. Newt and Tina, her two relatives, stood beside her. Harry gave them an OK sign and went into the Headmaster's Office.
The side room of the Headmaster's Office was a spacious meeting room, and Harry would bet it had been expanded with the Untraceable Extension Charm.
From the outside, you would never guess that the Headmaster's Office meeting room would be so spacious and bright.
Upon seeing Harry, Lucius nodded to him.
Harry sat down to one side, Dumbledore followed him and sat down next to him to listen in.
Soon, under Lucius's direction, the Board of Governors officially began its meeting.
"The Gringotts I've gathered everyone here at the school is to discuss adding a new school board member to the Board of Governors," Lucius said bluntly. "This seat was originally from school board member, and also from the Lestrange family. It was transferred to Mr. Potter. Potter by the Gringotts 'Goblin Brotherhood Master, 'Cross-Eyed' Bodric, with Gringotts' head, Scad, as witness. Mr. Potter has absolute control over the school board member of school board member seat, and at his insistence, it was given to Miss Sweeting Pabbie Sweeting."
"The Board of Governors will now vote. Those who vote in favor, please raise your wands and let them spark blue; those who vote against, please raise your wands and let them spark red... As for those who abstain, there is no need to raise your wands."
Nearly half of the people present were Lucius's good friends, and they did not object.
Several other neutral individuals also went along with the gesture and did him a favor.
After all, Harry was the one who defeated Voldemort, so both morally and logically, they were willing to curry favor with him.
As for those who were at odds with Lucius, they were in the minority, so there was no point in opposing them, so they simply stopped opposing.
Of the twelve school board member members, nine voted in favor and three abstained.
Seeing that everyone had agreed, Lucius smiled at Harry and said, "Then, please have Miss Pabbie show herself, Mr. Potter."
Harry nodded, got up, and left the meeting room.
Before long, he brought Pabbie and the Scamander to the conference room.
"Hello everyone," Pabbie said, waving his hooves. "I'm your new colleague, Pabbie Sweeting."
Everyone stared in astonishment at Pabbie in her Unicorn form, including Lucius.
To their utter surprise, the newly appointed Hogwarts school board member was actually a Unicorn!
"This is an insult to us!" a bald old man stood up and said, "We will never allow a Unicorn to enter the Hogwarts Board of Governors and become a Hogwarts school board member!"
"Yes!" "Exactly!" "Absolutely not!"
The school board member who didn't get along with Lucius unanimously agreed, as they would never allow a Unicorn to sit on equal footing with them and become a Board of Governors school board member.
"I think you should show some respect to Miss Sweeting," Dumbledore suddenly said. "She is a magical Margus who is temporarily trapped in Unicorn form for some reason—but in terms of kinship and age, she is older than all of you here. By seniority, she is Newt Scamander's aunt."
The school board member were all stunned, not expecting that this Unicorn had such an identity.
While it's unacceptable for Unicorn to be on the school board member, the school board member still have a flexible bottom line.
First of all, this Miss Sweeting Pabbie Sweetine is not Unicorn in the strict sense; she is magical Margus, and essentially, she is... a person.
Secondly, the chairman of the Board of Governors Lucius, was very supportive of him, as was Mr. Potter.
Finally, Headmaster Dumbledore and the Scamander, the Magical Creatures experts, were very supportive of Miss Pabbie becoming school board member.
This is basically a done deal, and even if they object, it won't change anything. It's better to go with the flow and do them a favor.
"Since that's the case..." The bald old man who started first suddenly sat down. "Then we have no objections."
The leader had already voted, so there was no point in the others persisting. One by one, they accepted this established fact.
Dumbledore's crescent-shaped spectacles flashed, and no one knew what he was thinking.
"Then, let's welcome the new Hogwarts school board member, Miss Sweeting Pabbie Sweeting."
Lucius clapped first, and then the school board member on either side of him followed suit.
Pabbie happily stomped his front legs on the ground, making a clapping sound, as if he were clapping.
Now that Pabbie had been appointed as school board member, the other school board member congratulated him and then left Hogwarts.
Only Lucius, Pansy's father, Old Parkinson, and Daphne's father Old Grringlass, remained here.
"I want to thank you, Mr. Potter," Old Parkinson said first. "If it weren't for your help last year in freeing my daughter from the control of the Dark Lord, she might have been in serious trouble, and her life might have been in danger..."
"You're welcome," Harry said with a smile.
"So just let me know if you need anything in the future," Old Parkinson said. "I'll do everything I can to help Mr. Potter!"
(I'm posting this first chapter to adjust my mindset and fix up the plot for the next part. I'll finish the rest today at 12,000 words.)
