Background

Before arriving in the DGP world, Firefly was an ordinary girl who had quit her job and spent months playing games and watching anime. A flash of white light transported her to the roadside in a new world, where she had become Firefly instead of merely being a fan of the character. She initially resented the involuntary transmigration, but chose to adapt. 1 2

The identity she assumes carries the history of Firefly: a weapon created for war whose homeland was destroyed, later becoming a Stellaron Hunter while seeking a way to defy fate. Firefly also knows of Entropy Syndrome, the condition that gradually causes a sufferer’s physical structure to dissipate. 1

Her system assigns her a first-world objective: change or destroy the Desire Grand Prix. It supplies a beginner package containing 3,200 Points, the Destruction Light Cone On a Starry Night, and a Stellaron; Points can be spent on Path power or gacha draws. 2

Appearance

Firefly presents herself as a beautiful, approachable young woman rather than an overtly intimidating combatant. She has long hair tied with a blue-black hairband and distinctive gradient pupils; Tsumuri describes her as unusually “real” at a glance. 14

  • Her appearance is compared to an idealized first-love memory: fresh, delicate, and increasingly captivating over time. 50
  • She combines youthful innocence and liveliness with a mature, composed air. 50
  • Her human appearance conceals her connection to Sam so completely that Ace Ukiyo does not recognize her. 31
  • In Sam form, she becomes a silver-white armored mechanical warrior with gold accents and flames emitted from its chest. 4

Personality

Firefly is pragmatic and strongly motivated by growth. She treats defeating Jyamato and Riders as a means of earning Points, openly prioritizing her own power over preserving Ace’s opportunities in the DGP. 4 She is also calculating: she sells Ace information about the Creation Goddess not merely for money, but to provoke conflict between him and DGP management. 31

Despite this ruthlessness, she retains clear personal boundaries and compassion. While short of money, she refuses to sell worn socks for quick cash; she helps Nene escape her family, gives her protective equipment, and worries about collateral damage when using Sam’s full destructive capacity. 11 12 27 After devastating the game field during her battle with the DGP leadership, she uses the Creation Goddess statue to restore affected people and areas outside the domain. 48

Firefly is conscious that she is not entirely identical to the original Firefly. She recognizes that the original Firefly would be more naïve and liable to reveal secrets, whereas she herself deliberately withholds information and manages others’ perceptions. 25

Abilities & Skills

System and Point Conversion

Firefly’s system rewards achievements, assigned tasks, and the defeat or killing of designated enemies with Points. 2

  • Points can be exchanged directly for Path power or spent on gacha draws for Light Cones, relics, and oddities. 2
  • She favors the Destruction Path, whose exchange rate is 1 Point for 100 Destruction Power. 2
  • Her stated long-term goal is to accumulate enough power to become an Aeon after clearing multiple worlds. 2
  • She earned nearly 25,000 Points after defeating Nilam, Gene, and Guaguala. 48

Sam / Firefly IV Strategic Assault Armor

Firefly can transform into Sam, a combat unit originally designed for interstellar warfare and large-scale anti-swarm operations. 4 27

  • Even before transforming, she can defeat low-tier Jyamato with her bare hands. 4
  • In Sam form, she destroys groups of Jyamato with single strikes and can defeat Kamen Riders such as Geats. 4 7
  • The armor’s Molten Core Engine enables powerful flame attacks, including Molten Fire, Detonate. 27
  • Secondary Burn and similar high-output states greatly increase Sam’s combat power. 27
  • Its destructive area is dangerous to bystanders and the environment; even restrained output can vaporize seawater and kill marine life. 28

Scorched Earth Combat Protocols

Sam’s signature protocols are designed for overwhelming battlefield destruction. 43 47

  • Scorched Earth Conquest creates a fiery tornado and damages the terrain across the battlefield. 47
  • DHGDR-Supernova Overload turns Sam into a small sun and then a meteor shower, producing a crater thousands of meters deep. 47
  • Firefly can maintain composure against overwhelming enemy numbers, as shown when confronting Archimedes and a giant Jyamato boss. 43
  • These attacks are powerful enough to breach or strain barriers formed with Creation Power. 47

Destruction Path and Light Cones

Firefly augments Sam’s inherent capabilities with Destruction Path power purchased through the system. 2

  • The Destruction Light Cone On a Starry Night further increases her Destruction output. 2
  • Her Path power allows her to scale beyond the strength she possessed at the start of the world. 2 9
  • She considers reaching Emanator level a future objective, but has not attained it by Chapter 50. 2 49

Vision Driver and Kamen Rider GlareN

After Guelorey disappears, Firefly retrieves the Vision Driver from his residence and studies its functions. 29

  • Herta modifies Guelorey’s Providence Card into a Fate Card suitable for Firefly. 29 32
  • Using the modified card and Vision Driver, Firefly transforms into Kamen Rider GlareN. 32
  • She can direct Glare’s control devices in combat and employ a powerful Rider Kick. 34
  • Nilam’s superior Gazer defenses initially withstand her GlareN attacks, demonstrating that the form is not invincible. 34
