Nuwa quickly stood up and threw out the Shanhe Sheji Diagram in her hand. It transformed into a landscape spanning billions of miles, encompassing everything, blocking the hole in the sky and stopping the extraterrestrial water continuously pouring down from it.
With Nuwa's help, Xuan Yi felt the pressure drastically decrease.
Then, from Shouyang Mountain, a diagram surrounded by Yin-Yang Two Qi also flew out. The diagram instantly magnified countless times, and countless golden lights shot out from it. The collapsing Primordial Chaos land was gradually stabilized under the illumination of the golden light. This diagram was precisely the Taiji Diagram.
For a time, the sound of Daoist incantations could be heard, and then an old man riding a green ox arrived. His face was ancient, like a ninety-year-old human. The one who had arrived was the foremost of the Sanqing, the Grand Pure Saint, Laozi.
The Grand Pure Saint had made his move. As a Saint, protecting the Primordial Chaos land was his responsibility. Furthermore, he was Hongjun's eldest disciple, and it was only right for him to set an example for his junior brothers. He could also earn a great deal of Merit by doing so. Why wouldn't he?
Seeing this, Yuanshi Tianzun and Tongtian Jiaozhu no longer hesitated and summoned their magical treasures.
Yuanshi Tianzun's Jade Ruyi flashed, and countless golden lights surged out, protecting the mountains and rivers.
Tongtian Jiaozhu threw out the Immortal Slaying Four Swords in his hand, which transformed into a great formation, stabilizing the four poles of heaven and earth.
Even the most shameless pair, Jieyin and Zhunti, made their move.
Zhunti summoned his magical treasure, the Seven Treasures Wonderful Tree. This tree grew against the wind and soon transformed into a sky-supporting giant tree standing in the middle of the Primordial Chaos, propping up Nuwa's Shanhe Sheji Diagram.
Jieyin, on the other hand, summoned golden lotuses and poured an endless stream of magical power into the Primordial Chaos Measuring Heaven Ruler, helping Xuan Yi support heaven and earth.
Although the Primordial Chaos heaven and earth were temporarily stabilized by the full efforts of all the Saints, this could not continue.
"Wa'er, you are skilled in the Way of Creation. You can use the Qiankun Cauldron to refine the Five-Colored Stone and mend the sky."
"However, before that, we need something to support the sky. I know there is a Mysterious Turtle above the North Sea, and its four limbs can be used as pillars to support the sky."
Xuan Yi, who knew the general trend of the Primordial Chaos, spoke and gave instructions.
"Good, I will go and retrieve the four limbs of the North Sea's giant turtle. Fellow Daoist Nuwa, you focus on refining the item to mend the sky."
Tongtian voluntarily accepted the mission and, with a flash, rushed towards the North Sea.
Meanwhile, Nuwa began to gather the materials needed to mend the sky.
Guided by the Heavenly Dao, Tongtian rapidly headed towards the North Sea where the North Sea's giant turtle resided.
"Mysterious Turtle, I am Tongtian Jiaozhu. Come out quickly and see me."
Upon arriving at the North Sea where the giant turtle was located, Tongtian immediately began to call out to the Mysterious Turtle.
"Saint Tongtian, what is the matter that you call me?"
Seeing the anomaly in the sky above, the giant turtle, awakened from its slumber, felt a vague sense of unease in its heart, as if some danger was about to befall it.
The Heavenly Dao had long decreed that the Mysterious Turtle was born to support heaven and earth.
However, Tongtian did not immediately kill it. Instead, he quickly told it everything that had happened in the Primordial Chaos.
"Alas! I knew this calamity would come. I only hope that my next life will be one of peace!"
Finally.
The Mysterious Turtle knew that it could not escape this tribulation and could only agree to let Tongtian take its four limbs. However, it made Tongtian promise that its reincarnated self would enjoy eternal peace.
Seeing that the giant turtle had made its choice, Tongtian no longer hesitated.
After using a spell to preserve the Mysterious Turtle's True Spirit, he used his Qingping Sword to sever the turtle's four limbs.
Having obtained the Mysterious Turtle's four limbs, Tongtian also collected its corpse and prepared to refine it into a magical treasure.
Afterward, Tongtian placed the refined four limbs of the Mysterious Turtle at the four poles of heaven and earth. The Heavenly Dao then began to exert its power, and soon they were completely transformed into pillars supporting the sky.
With the pillars supporting the sky, the collapsing heaven and earth began to slowly stabilize.
On the other side, Nuwa's refining of the Five-Colored Stone was not going smoothly either.
To ensure the successful mending of the sky, Nuwa specifically sought the Chaos Origin Stone from the Dao Ancestor to use as raw material.
However, the Chaos Origin Stone was too hard. Despite repeated tempering, it showed no reaction. The surface gradually took on a five-colored hue under the tempering of the power of creation, appearing crystal clear and incredibly profound.
But the interior of the Chaos Origin Stone remained completely unresponsive, showing no signs of melting.
This greatly worried Nuwa. If the Chaos Origin Stone wouldn't melt, what would she use to mend the sky?
"Let's try. I hope it works."
Seeing that the Chaos Origin Stone had been unable to melt for so long, Nuwa hardened her heart and decided to cut her finger. A drop of Saint's blood flowed into the Chaos Origin Stone.
One must know that this was the Saint's vital blood.
The energy contained within it was enough to destroy heaven and earth, and it also contained Nuwa's understanding of the power of creation. If Nuwa hadn't been pushed to her limit, she would never have done this.
But the matter of mending the sky was urgent, and Nuwa could no longer afford to hesitate. Refining the Chaos Origin Stone was the key.
With the assistance of Nuwa's drop of vital blood, the indestructible Chaos Origin Stone finally began to melt slowly, soon transforming into a colorful liquid.
However, a flaw appeared in this mass of liquid.
It turned out that one Chaos Origin Stone had not been refined. Although it had also absorbed Nuwa's vital blood, it showed no signs of melting and instead became increasingly solid.
This Chaos Origin Stone was hidden within the colorful liquid, and Nuwa actually failed to discover it for a time.
Nuwa was very curious about this Chaos Origin Stone and picked it up to examine it closely.
"Junior Sister Nuwa! We can't hold on much longer!"
"Quickly bring the item to mend the sky."
The immense pressure that propped up the sky was almost too much for the Saints to bear.
One by one, they began to anxiously urge Nuwa. Realizing the gravity of mending the heavens, Nuwa couldn't pay much attention to this Chaos Origin Stone.
Casually discarding the Chaos Origin Stone into the Primordial Chaos, Nuwa quickly cupped her hands, lifting the five-colored Sky-Mending Stone towards the rift in the firmament caused by the broken pillar of heaven.
Chaotic Qi continuously poured from the rift. With no other choice, Nuwa had to circulate her magic power to protect herself while cautiously approaching the rift. She then infused the Sky-Mending Stone with her power of creation, gradually sealing the rift in the sky with it.
As the five-colored Sky-Mending Stone was slowly integrated, the massive rift in the sky began to disappear.
Finally, the heavens were mended.
Bright sunlight once again shone upon the land, allowing the myriad beings of the Primordial Chaos to survive the great calamity.
During this immense disaster, the once lush and verdant Primordial Chaos land, ravaged by celestial fire and the Weak Water, became devastated. Countless beings perished, and less than half of the existing life in the Primordial Chaos remained.
Just then, an anomaly occurred.
A vast stream of Mysterious Yellow Qi poured down from the sky, condensing into a massive ball of Merit in the void.
It turned out that the Saints had succeeded in mending the heavens, and the Heavenly Dao, sensing this, had bestowed Merit.
The Merit split into eight portions: sixty percent went to Nuwa, thirty percent was equally divided among the other Saints, and the remaining ten percent was awarded to those who had aided the surviving beings of the Primordial Chaos.
After the Merit was distributed, the Saints turned their attention to the surviving Witch and Demon races.
"Saints, do you have any plans for the remaining Witch and Demon races?"
Taishang, the eldest disciple of the Xuanmen, spoke.
They looked at each other, unable to decide for a moment.
"Just kill them. The karma is too great, and no one wants to bear it. If we take them in, the Demon Race has Nuwa, and the Witch Race has Houtu."
For a time, the Saints fell into a dilemma.
"Senior Brother Xuan Yi!"
"Senior Brother is the son of the Dao Ancestor and has the authority to judge the beings of the Primordial Chaos. I am willing to follow your arrangements!"
Zhunti, ever the shrewd one, tossed this difficult problem to Xuan Yi.
The other Saints quickly echoed his sentiment.
"We will all follow Senior Brother's arrangements!"
Seeing them like this, Xuan Yi knew he had to make a decision.
He then looked towards the Witch and Demon races and said, "The Witch and Demon races disobeyed the will of heaven. The Witch-Demon war caused Buzhou Mountain to break, and countless beings in the Primordial Chaos were killed or injured."
"However, heaven values life. The Demon Race will relocate to the harsh northern lands and will be led by Empress Nuwa from now on. You are not to leave without her command."
"The Witch Race will be taken by me to the Underworld and will be overseen by Empress Houtu. You shall never set foot in the Primordial Chaos again."
"What do you all think?"
After delivering his judgment, Xuan Yi asked the Saints for their opinions.
"We will follow Senior Brother's lead!"
The Saints naturally had no objections; even if they did, they wouldn't dare to voice them.
After dealing with the Witch and Demon races, Xuan Yi's gaze turned towards the direction where the five-colored stone had flown.
"Sun Wukong?"
"Journey to the West?"
Xuan Yi murmured thoughtfully.
With matters settled, the Saints bid farewell and returned to their respective Dao Fields.
"Wa'er! You will lead the Demon Race to the far north. You can craft a Monster Summoning Banner to easily control them."
"I will take the Witch Race to be handed over to Houtu for management."
They parted ways, one heading to the far north, the other to the Underworld.
The Underworld.
Sensing Xuan Yi's arrival, Pingxin quickly rose to greet him.
"Thank you, fellow Daoist Xuan Yi, for preserving the last trace of the Witch Race's bloodline."
Houtu had been watching the Witch-Demon war. Seeing the Ancestral Witches self-destruct one after another, Houtu was heartbroken but unable to leave, only able to worry in secret.
Later, when Xuan Yi preserved the last trace of the Witch Race's bloodline, Houtu was genuinely grateful to him.
"It's nothing. The Witch Race should not perish. I merely passed a fair judgment!"
"Even so, Pingxin still thanks Senior Brother!"
"The Underworld has just been established and lacks personnel. I wish to establish the position of Emperor Fengdu of the Northern Yin to manage the Underworld on my behalf. This position will receive immeasurable Merit, and it shall be filled by your disciple, fellow Daoist Xuan Yi!"
Xuan Yi had not expected Houtu to bestow such a great gift. After a moment of thought, he cupped his hands in thanks to Houtu.
"If that is the case, I will thank Empress Pingxin on behalf of my unaccomplished disciple!"
Among his three disciples, Six-Eared was cunning yet honest, Kong Xuan, though arrogant, was relatively steady, and only Great Peng seemed a bit impetuous.
After careful consideration, Xuan Yi decided to appoint Great Peng as the Emperor Fengdu of the Northern Yin, to prevent him from perishing in the future Great Tribulation of Investiture of the Gods. He then summoned Great Peng.
"Great Peng, the position of Emperor Fengdu of the Northern Yin is of great importance. You must not be negligent or careless. I hope you will manage the Underworld well and not let down the expectations of your Master and Lady Pingxin!"
While sitting at home, fortune came from the Underworld. Overjoyed with such a plum job, Great Peng grinned from ear to ear.
"Thank you, Master! Thank you, Lady Pingxin!"
"I will certainly do my utmost and not let down the expectations of Master and Lady."
And so, Great Peng received a great benefit and became the Emperor Fengdu of the Northern Yin.
After dealing with the Witch Race, Xuan Yi also returned to Jade Capital Mountain.
