History
Founding of Konoha
The Uchiha and Senju jointly founded Konoha at the end of the Warring States era. Clan records and the records of the Hyūga, Yamanaka, and Nara all identify the two clans as Konoha's original founders. The Uchiha remained rooted in the village afterward, maintaining public security and fighting Konoha's enemies. 227
Despite this founding role, the clan became closely confined to the Konoha Military Police Force. The limited number of high-ranking posts and the difficulty of earning merit through police work restricted the advancement of many capable Uchiha. 69 141 158
Relocation and marginalization
Konoha ordered the Military Police Force and the Uchiha compound relocated away from the village center to the Naka River area. Many clan members regarded the measure as an attempt to isolate and control them. 20 21
The village later revoked the relocation compensation because of wartime financial strain, prompting Uchiha Yashiro to lead a protest toward the Hokage Building. Anti-Uchiha rumors subsequently spread among civilians, including claims that the clan caused the Nine-Tails attack and gained strength by committing evil. 54 58
Political resurgence
Uchiha Aozora became Fugaku's assistant after confronting the Clan Head over repeated compromises with Konoha. He redirected the clan's strategy away from an immediate bid for the Hokage position and toward alliances, influence, and long-term political security. 68 69
The clan backed Hyūga Hiashi rather than nominating an Uchiha candidate in the leadership election, strengthening its relationship with the Hyūga. 141 Aozora also publicly defended the Uchiha's founding contributions when Tsuchihashi Masahiro attempted to portray the clan as undeserving of Konoha. 227
Following Sarutobi Hiruzen's death, Fugaku's rise placed the Uchiha at the center of Konoha's government. The clan later extended its influence to the Daimyo Mansion, where Shisui used Kotoamatsukami to implant the Daimyo with the identity of an Uchiha undercover agent, “Uchiha Keiji.” 300 357
Parallel time-space crisis
In the Dragon Vein time-space, Uchiha Aozora does not exist. Without his intervention, Danzo remains within Konoha, the clan continues to be suppressed, and the High Command prepares its extermination. 396 397
Aozora and Itachi from another time-space arrive during the planned massacre, reveal the situation to Fugaku, activate the clan alarm, and help rally the Uchiha against Root and ANBU forces. 396 398 405
Appearance
Uchiha commonly wear dark-blue clan robes marked with the fan crest on the back during formal gatherings. 19
- Dark-blue robes are customary at clan meetings. 19
- The Uchiha fan emblem identifies clan members. 19
- Activated Sharingan are characterized by scarlet irises containing black tomoe. 97
Abilities & Skills
Sharingan
The Uchiha's primary Kekkei Genkai is the Sharingan, an eye technique tied to intense emotional stimulation and the user's spiritual power. Its awakening is uncommon even among Uchiha, especially at a young age. 23 539
- One Tomoe enhances dynamic vision. 97
- Two Tomoe grants Chakra perception and improves genjutsu. 97
- Three Tomoe enhances perception, reads hand seals and Chakra flow, copies ninjutsu, stores Yin-natured Chakra, and enables hypnosis. 97
- Three Tomoe users can employ inherited techniques including Mirror Heaven Reversal, the Hanging Technique, and Izanagi. 97
- The Sharingan Awakening Ritual uses highly realistic genjutsu to induce awakening or advancement without requiring real tragedy. 99 267
- Sharingan transplantation between Uchiha causes relatively little rejection, but ownerless Three Tomoe eyes remain scarce because the clan does not routinely harvest the eyes of its dead. 218
Mangekyō Sharingan
The Mangekyō Sharingan is a rare evolution typically awakened through immense negative emotion. It grants innate eye techniques, strengthened Sharingan arts, and Susanoo, but repeated use deteriorates the user's sight and can consume life force. 189
- Individual Mangekyō abilities reflect the user's deepest wish and greatest talents at awakening. 189
- Susanoo combines exceptional offense and defense and can raise an ordinary Jōnin to power comparable to the Five Kage. 189
- Clan research uses small quantities of Mangekyō Dōjutsu Power to enhance ordinary Sharingan techniques more efficiently. 189
- The clan's historical research produced the Transcription Seal, which transfers Dōjutsu Power from one eye to another. 420
Fire Release
Fire Release is a defining Uchiha specialty. The Great Fireball Technique is learned by Uchiha ninja regardless of age and has destructive power comparable to B-rank ninjutsu despite being only C-rank in difficulty. 405
- Fire Release gives the clan substantial strength in large-scale battles. 405
- Coordinated Great Fireball attacks can disrupt enemy formations and prevent ANBU from grouping together. 405
- Aozora's methods allow elite Three Tomoe users to temper Fire Release Chakra into Blaze Release Chakra. 507
Genjutsu
Sharingan genjutsu is a major clan advantage, while the Mangekyō is regarded as the true essence of Uchiha genjutsu. 169
- Sharingan genjutsu is used for combat, interrogation, hypnosis, and emotionally immersive awakening rituals. 97 99
- The Hanging Technique restrains targets inside an illusion space and is especially strengthened by Mangekyō Dōjutsu Power. 189
- Kotoamatsukami can alter a target's memories and beliefs; Shisui uses it to place the Fire Daimyo under Uchiha control. 357
Ninja Tool Techniques
Many Uchiha supplement their Dōjutsu with ninja tools, swordsmanship, taijutsu, or specialized ninjutsu rather than relying on genjutsu alone. 106 387
- Aozora is renowned for ninja tool throwing capable of threatening Jōnin. 52
- His evolved Weapon Control can manipulate four thrown kunai and alter their flight paths, though its Chakra consumption is severe. 19
- The clan's copied and accumulated techniques support diverse specializations, including swordsmanship, taijutsu, and genjutsu. 100 106

Trivia
