Background / History
Di Jun rules the Demon Race alongside his younger brother, Eastern Emperor Tai Yi. He is the father of the Ten Golden Crow Princes, including the eldest, Di Yi, and takes an active role in their protection and advancement. When Di Yi was severely injured in a contest with Tai Cang, Di Jun personally intervened to disperse the lingering lightning and sought Tongtian's aid to heal his son 11.
After Tai Cang forged spiritual treasures for all ten princes, Di Jun gave him a Golden Crow pass granting unrestricted entry to the Primordial Star Domain and the Thirty-Third Heaven. Though it could not command demon forces, the pass formalized Tai Cang's connection to the Golden Crows; Di Jun also invited him to their coming-of-age ceremony five thousand years later 12.
Di Jun later accepted Tai Cang's help in conquering a newly discovered realm whose spatial barriers hindered the Demon Race. He mobilized a million demon soldiers, placed Eastern Emperor Tai Yi in charge of Tai Cang's protection, and allowed Tai Cang first choice of the realm's three major treasures in recognition of his contribution 43 44. The conquered realm subsequently became the foundation of the Demon Realm 45 86.
During the campaign against Pan Wang, Di Jun coordinated with the Witch Clan and supplied Tai Cang with continuous stellar power through the Grand Cycle Stars Array. After Pan Wang's defeat, the temporary Witch–Demon alliance ended, and Di Jun invited Tai Cang to celebrate with the Demon Race 65 66.
As conflict with the Witch Clan escalated, Di Jun negotiated with Tai Cang for the method to become a Primordial Grand Unity Golden Immortal. He and Eastern Emperor Tai Yi swore an oath to the Heavenly Dao in return, then committed the Demon Race to an alliance with the Three Pure Ones against the Ancestral Witches 96 97.
Personality
Di Jun is politically calculating and places the Demon Race's long-term survival above personal sentiment. He treats Tai Cang's talent as a strategic resource, first cultivating ties through the Golden Crows and later rewarding him with rare treasures and military trust 12 43 44.
He is also decisive in war. Upon learning that Tai Cang could use the Law of Space, Di Jun immediately ordered a general offensive on the new realm; when preparing against the Witch Clan, he called for a preemptive strike intended to break the Twelve Heavenly Gods and Demons Array before it could be fully deployed 43 97.
Despite his ambition, Di Jun is protective of his sons. He rebuked Di Yi for bringing Tai Cang into a dangerous battlefield and forbade the Golden Crow Princes from joining the invasion because their cultivation was insufficient 43. He also welcomed his commanders' requests to take Golden Crow princes as disciples, viewing these arrangements as proof of unity within the Demon Race 97 98.
