Hyuga Bin wins, earning Yugito’s genuine respect. Their subsequent meals and outings allow Yugito to interact with someone who treats her as an equal rather than solely as Kumogakure’s jinchūriki 101 102. By the time he departs, she calls him a friend while warning that she will not hold back if they next meet as enemies 103.

Konoha–Kumogakure War

When diplomacy collapses, Yugito leads Kumogakure’s forces alongside Fourth Raikage A. She confronts Hyuga Bin again, this time entering first-stage and then complete Tailed Beast Transformation 164.

Hyuga Bin redirects her Tailed Beast Bomb away from the battlefield and transports their fight to an isolated area. He ultimately overwhelms her, forces Matatabi to withdraw, and captures Yugito alive 164 165.

Captivity and Renewed Friendship

Yugito awakens in Konoha custody and learns that Hyuga Bin has arranged unusually lenient conditions: she may move around her room, request walks, and spend time with him without constant guards 166. She remains calm and adaptable, recognizing that he deliberately spared her life 166.

During this period, Hyuga Bin takes her shopping, shares food with her, and advises her to cultivate her own skills instead of depending entirely on Matatabi. After her release, Yugito is encouraged to compete for the Raikage position. Fourth Raikage A withdraws his own candidacy and recommends her, while Yugito argues that Killer B may be a better fit and questions whether she is prepared for the office’s responsibilities 190 191.
