Background / History

Minato earned recognition as a Konoha prodigy during the Second Shinobi World War, but gained the title Yellow Flash after establishing a fearsome reputation in the Third Shinobi World War. His rising fame made him a viable alternative to Orochimaru in the contest for the Fourth Hokage position. 20 21

During the war, Minato led a six-person S-rank infiltration mission into Kumogakure's front-line territory. He confronted the A–B Combination, using the Flying Thunder God Technique to place himself behind Killer B while avoiding the Fourth Raikage's attack. Though both sides had weapons at each other's vital points, Minato chose to disengage rather than force a mutual kill. 46 47
