Background / History

The Heavenly Dao witnessed the three solemn vows of the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin Clans to repay their karmic debts. It answered by sending boundless black karmic clouds upon their surviving bloodlines. It later sent the exceptional transformation tribulation that targeted the Innate Banana Tree, a tribulation containing both destruction and the opportunity for creation 2 3.

Its operation is repeatedly described as impartial and governed by fixed principles rather than personal preference. Dao Ancestor Hongjun states that it leaves every living being a thread of possibility for transcendence, even under its laws 24.

After Hongjun merged with the Dao, he became the pivot governing the Heavenly Dao's operation. During the Witch-Demon conflict, he acted through its authority to impose an enforced division of duties between Heaven and Earth and a ten-thousand-aeon truce 72 220.

Functions and Authority

Oaths and Cosmic Recognition

The Heavenly Dao hears major vows and grants recognition when they align with the order or evolution of the Primordial Era.

• It approved East Prince's oath to establish the Immortal Court, then bestowed immense Heavenly Dao Merit that elevated its members and cleansed their Primordial Spirits 119.
• It responded to Di Jun and Taiyi's oath establishing the Demon Race and Heavenly Court with Xuanhuang Merit Qi, strengthening both the Heavenly Court and the Nine Dragon Heavenly Emperor Seal 140.
